Cruise - after cancelling one Disney now offers deal on August cruises

i wonder if the rates will drop as it gets closer to august...

they may do, but I booked last September for a July Med Cruise ... the prices then went up about $600 for the two of us before they introduced the UK discounts so I'm not sure its quite as good a bargain as it looks! They're not actually offering any discount on my cabin at the moment - on our cruise the only one discounted is the balcony and you can save $400 a couple - means I at least feel I'm not being overcharged!

I just asked about flights and 4 nights accom in Barcelona - that came to £440 per head with BA. Still looking at options!

Is that for flights AND 4 nights hotel? Great if so! We paid £140 for two of us with easyjet for flights, but still not got a hotel sorted for our pre and post cruise nights

I'm currently looking at bmibaby flights and staying at barcelo raval. Hotel about £85 a night, has stunning roof top swimming pool and looks ultra modern in good position for exploring Barcelona. Downside (if it is one) is that we would have to stay 2 extra nights!

not so good as that is each, not altogether. With other option think I will get 6 nights for same price.

we paid just over £100 each for flights with easyjet and £85 a night for the novotel in barcelona for two nights before the cruise

I paid 660 for three adult flights (they don't do kid prices) with Jet2, that included 2 suitcases and check in fees, plus CC charge. Liverpool was cheaper, but once I had factored in airport parking and petrol, LBA was a better option, plus its only 30 mins from where I live.

I think from memory Cosmos from Manchester was around 260 each. We are flying home at the bank holiday weekend.

Don't forget the pope is also visiting Madrid I think it is around 16th August, so get your hotels booked soon.

I must be mad but we have just booked the 13 August trip! Think we will probably go for a few days to Barcelona beforehand!

I was so tempted to cancel but DH still wanted to go, I was very upset with disney about the non flexibility.

OK, I am now all sorted for floights and hotel in Barcelona. Going with BMI baby - after all the extras came to £390 for the 2 of us but I have booked seats, got 22k luggage each etc. Also booked the Barcelo Raval for 5 nights before the cruise and 1 night after (to match flights). About £400 for 5 nights which isn't too bad. Looking forward to using their rooftop pool!

When can we start doing things like booking excursions, Palo etc?

Do they have formal nights on board and if so how formal are we talking?

I have not looked into European cruises but they usually have a semi formal & a formal night on 7 night cruises. They are as formal or informal as you want them to be. Personally I wear a shirt and Tie, some go the full works and wear a Tux, a few wear no more than a polo shirt, entirely upto you.

YOu will be able to start booking trips and Palo when you have paid in full and when the window opens, for my cruise on 20/08, its around mid June. Log into your Disney booking and the date shows there somewhere.
