#1800 Mine Mine Mine Life is sweet. Sorry Rosemary just couldn't help myself. I enjoyed the chat both last night and this morning. Feels like old times. Mike

Geez Louise!!! I snooze, I lose! LOL (But Chris will be so proud of all of us because it took team effort for YOU, dear papa, to claim number 1800!)

Windermere - that was so sweet of you to say what you said and for papa too (although I paid him an undisclosed fee for the same).

Hoping the twins are having great fun together in HH and that Emily got a beautiful haircut down in WDW.

Enjoyed chat too, both of them. Loved to see more chatters and posters. So many on our list - what 34 groups? - we will never know them all if they don't participate! Finally got Colleen straight in my head now that I've chatted with her.
(Hi Scootersmom!!! ).

Hey Susan514 - do you still lurk? Do you think you may be cruising with us. I know you had to wait a while to find out. Did you find out yet?

Any other lurkers out there? Please post and say hello!

WOW! I AM proud of you guys!!! I knew 1800 was achievable!

Well, we are back from our trip (a little bad luck in the day), but I am sure we got some good pics of Emily. I will have them up on our web site in a few days and let you all know.

Hey everyone, we're back from WDW. What a beautiful day it was here in central FL. It was sunny and warm (78, I think). It hasn't been this nice here in quite a while. Anyway, the parks were pretty packed, since it's the start of President's week, but it was fun anyway.

Emily's haircut went very well. She was just perfect. Maura did such a great job. First, she covered Emily with Mickey stickers, then gave her those twirly, spinny, character lights to play with, and I was blowing bubbles, all while Maura was trimming Emily's hair. Then, Chris got his haircut too. He ended up with blue gel and glitter all over the top, and a blue Mickey on the back of his head. What a sight to see!!!

Then, we headed over to MGM. Did some shopping, had lunch, saw a couple of shows, then ran into some bad luck and left the park early. I'm sure that Chris will tell you all about it.

Well, I hope we do another chat on a Saturday morning, we'd love to get to chat with Eric and Anja.

Hmmm... well things didn't really happen to us as much as around us.

First, we were driving from Tampa to Orlando on I-4 when we came upon an accident near Lakeland. It had just happened and there weren't even police there yet. A van (looked like some church van - you know 15-20 passengers) had rolled down the beginning of an overpass embankment. The roof was a little caved in and most people were out of the van. One person was laying at the side of the road with several people around them and one guy was walking around with a baby in his arms. We were hoping everyone was alright. About 7-10 cars were pulled over and many people were helping them. We called 911 and they already knew about it.

That was a bummer on the way to the Happiest Place On Earth!

Well, we got Emily's hair cut, went to MGM, had lunch, rode Tower of Terror (the new random effect is awesome!!!!), went to Who Wants to be a Millionaire, got a sunburn watching the Disney's Stars and Motor Cars Parade, and then headed to Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular.

So, we are in IJSS (we have seen it a few times before - Amy and I were both "extras" once - noone to take pictures  ). In the first scene, they open with Indiana grabbing the jewel (or whatever) and runing from the huge rolling boulder. Then they yell "CUT" and they are in "movie making role". The next scene they set up is where Indiana is i the villiage shopping area running from bad guys.

Well, one of the bad guys goes to the top of a 3 story building and rides a zip line (pulley with handles) down to the ground. He fell off within a few feet and hit the concrete! Everyone but 2 fake camera crew and the two sound guys rushed over there. They switched to background music, pulled in props to block our view of his body and said that the show is cancelled (mumbled something about stunt business being a dangerous thing and best wishes go out to this guy and everyone).

So we left the park to do dinner on the outside. On the way to our car, we see a helicopter landing in the empty lot across from us - empty except for the 3-4 fire trucks, 2 ambulances, several Disney cops, and at least 1 county Sherriff. By the time we pulled out, they were moving the guy from the ambulance to the Orlando (something) medevac helicopter. 2 1/2 story fall to the concrete - he is lucky if he is still alive - he was going down upper body first!

Then Dinner was later than we expected and Emily was close to her bed time and she was very hungry, so we ended up at McDonald's and then home. We will have to do DM-I-L's birthday dinner Sun night.

Not the best of trips, but the hair cut was WELL worth it!!!!

Amy & Chris--- I'm glad someone has warm weather. We are to have 12" of snow Sunday night. Now you have made me curious of what the bad luck was. Fill us in soon.

Ok, I tried to download the thing I need for the chat but that didn't work. I must be like Ave, no luck at getting in the chat room. :(

Eric-- My son is an Erik. In the US, Eric is much more common so I did the K to be different. I didn't realize that German's used the K more than C. Liked the room layout, but when I printed it out I would need a magnifying glass to read it. I enlarged it to view it on my computer and thought it would print out that way. So I will just reference it from the computer. Can you tell I am computer challenged.

Later,
Nancy

Chris-- You were posting at the same time as me. Wow, what a terrible thing to happen to that poor stunt man. I hope that he ends up being ok without a major head injury. I guess the stunt business is very dangerous, we just don't usually see the danger because most times it is in movies and TV not live shows.

Sounds like a good time with the haircuts.

Nancy

Hey Nancy -

You must have been posting while Chris was going through posting the details of our day. It wasn't too bad for us, but we sure hope that everyone turns out to be ok. It just brings ya down when you know that people are hurt.

Amy

Amy and Chris-- We must be the only two around tonight.
Was it just MK that was crowded or was MGM also?

Nancy

Well, I would say that they were both busy. But, we didn't go into MK, except into the barber shop and exposition hall. But, when we were leaving the parking lots were packed and it was only 11am.

As for MGM, I don't think it was nearly as busy as MK, but still busy. I know that the Indiana Jones show was almost full when the accident happened. It was just so awful. I kept thinking to myself, I've seen this show a dozen times and that has never happened. I kept waiting for somone to yell, "CUT" but it never happened. I just pray that poor guy is ok. I have a friend that works at Disney, so I'm going to see if she can find anything out on Monday.

Being at a stunt show, you would normally think that it would just be part of the show. Let us know if you find out anything about his condition. Hopefully, he will end up being ok.

What a day, van accident, stunt show mishap, thank heavens you made it home safe and sound.

Well, I'm off to read my book. I bought 2 books today. James Patterson 2nd Choice and Janet Evanovich Full Tilt. Now need to decide which one to start. Since I am going to be snowed in need reading material, snacks and bought My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Norm and DS#1 can take care of the snow, I'm staying inside and reading, eating and watching movies.

Hope tomorrow is a better day for you.

Nancy

That's funny, Nancy - You using the same logic as my parents ;) So your son may have experienced the same problem as I: Everytime I want to buy a personalized coffee-pot or something els it has Erik on it and it's virtually impissible to get one with an Eric. I always buy my personalized items in the US or in the UK. If your Erik has the same problem and needs something with an Erik on it, feel free to tell me and I'll gladly bring it in september.

Talking about the printing of the list: I printed in on normal letter paper using the following settings: "Landscape" and "fit to size" then it is readable without a magnifying glass. Additionally you can check the box "Allow distortion" and then it will cover the whole page.

Amy and Chris,

Sorry to hear about your misadventures. If you go back soon I want some stuff! LOL I noticed they just released the cutest pins, they are called pop top pins and have one for many characters.

Dan

lol hope it all works out

Peter,

I can tell you that 7620 is not available as my mom has it! LOL Not sure about 7120, maybe that one is.

Dan

Hey Dan - we are planning on heading back to WDW, probably next month. There were some new passholder pins that came out yesterday, that we got. And, another new one is coming out on March 15th. So, I think that we'll be heading over there in a couple of weeks. I didn't see the new pins you were talking about though, where did you hear about them? I'll be glad to pick some up for you, if you want.

Peter - I am a p/t TA and and am showing the only available Cat. 7 left for our cruise as of right now are all on Deck 5, with the exception of 6640 on Deck 6. Nothing on Deck 7, and none of the reclassified cabins. Unless DU put a hold on the partially obstructed rooms, it looks like none are available. Of course, someone may cancel and something could open up.
