Hmmm... well things didn't really happen
to us as much as
around us.
First, we were driving from Tampa to Orlando on I-4 when we came upon an accident near Lakeland. It had just happened and there weren't even police there yet. A van (looked like some church van - you know 15-20 passengers) had rolled down the beginning of an overpass embankment. The roof was a little caved in and most people were out of the van. One person was laying at the side of the road with several people around them and one guy was walking around with a baby in his arms. We were hoping everyone was alright. About 7-10 cars were pulled over and many people were helping them. We called 911 and they already knew about it.
That was a bummer on the way to the Happiest Place On Earth!
Well, we got Emily's hair cut, went to MGM, had lunch, rode Tower of Terror (the new random effect is
awesome!!!!), went to Who Wants to be a Millionaire, got a sunburn watching the Disney's Stars and Motor Cars Parade, and then headed to Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular.
So, we are in IJSS (we have seen it a few times before - Amy and I were both "extras" once - noone to take pictures

). In the first scene, they open with Indiana grabbing the jewel (or whatever) and runing from the huge rolling boulder. Then they yell "CUT" and they are in "movie making role". The next scene they set up is where Indiana is i the villiage shopping area running from bad guys.
Well, one of the bad guys goes to the top of a 3 story building and rides a zip line (pulley with handles) down to the ground. He fell off within a few feet and hit the concrete! Everyone but 2 fake camera crew and the two sound guys rushed over there. They switched to background music, pulled in props to block our view of his body and said that the show is cancelled (mumbled something about stunt business being a dangerous thing and best wishes go out to this guy and everyone).
So we left the park to do dinner on the outside. On the way to our car, we see a helicopter landing in the empty lot across from us - empty except for the 3-4 fire trucks, 2 ambulances, several Disney cops, and at least 1 county Sherriff. By the time we pulled out, they were moving the guy from the ambulance to the Orlando (something) medevac helicopter. 2 1/2 story fall to the concrete - he is lucky if he is still alive - he was going down upper body first!
Then Dinner was later than we expected and Emily was close to her bed time and she was very hungry, so we ended up at McDonald's and then home. We will have to do DM-I-L's birthday dinner Sun night.
Not the best of trips, but the hair cut was WELL worth it!!!!
