Mike,
unfortunately you're right :( , the waters are rising again already. Mainly due to blockings by huge lumps of ice, and in the west the thawing started today.
Nevertheless I drove with the top down today, at a temperature of 28ºF, but with blue skies and with the sun shining. OK, I preheated the car with my additional heater, had the heated seats switched on and the windblocker was rigged up, too. I also got some stares from other motorists on the Autobahn, when I passed them with the top down at 100mph, but it was fun :p

The newest edition of The List is in your mailboxes, please welcom Chuck and Dean, our newest additions - Dan & Scott: Please bring them to The Boards!!

What's up?
8 hours after my last post I find our thread on page 2

Tulirose: I'M SORRY!:( I worked late on Friday, got home, fed the kids McDonalds, and went to sleep
crap.gif

Came home tonight from job#2 and found us on page 2!
Welcome to Chuck and Dean!!!:D
I would LOVE to do the Brunch thing again! I was so glad it worked out well last time. When we get a little bit closer to the cruise date I will start taking names.
Eric: I think the only reason we are (were) on page 2 is (was) because there have been a LOT of new threads started.

It was still on page one when I last checked not too long ago. Thanks for the latest update.

I think, perhaps, the cruise is still too far away. People don't seem to be really into it yet. I get excited about it for a bit and then that wanes for a while. And forget about planning things, you guys should know by now I don't plan much, we just sorta go with the flow and see what happens.

Hey! We ordered a new dining room set today! And it is in-stock, so instead of having to wait three months for it, we will be getting it next Friday! Now that's what's exciting us over here in our household.

Hi Ave - Your post wasn't there when I started my response. Cruise Chat will be around for the next ten months, so no worries.

When it gets closer you will have to explain how this brunch thing worked and what they serve during it.

Tired. Going to bed. Up too late.

Cough, cough, sneeze and groan...I have an awful cold and have missed one night of work and will be missing tonight too. I need comfort food and heating pads. I am miserable. All this is thanks to my DDIL who gave it to me.

Welcome to Dean and Chuck.

Rosemary, I am proud for you and your new dining suite. I hope to get my bathrooms finished one of these days and put this house up for sale. I am so tired of living on this hill and I want to be out in the country.

Go Titans! Was that a game or what? I coughed and sneezed all through it and Mike got me his Pancho liner to wrap up in on the couch for the game. (He is so sweet to me.)

Will go for now, I keep having to cough. Hope the rest of you stay well and be glad that Typhoid Mary who gave me the creeping crud, and sneezes and coughs and doesn't care where it lands doesn't live with you.

Take care, Kathy with a K

Yes, we plan on doing Captain Marvins in GC. If you make reservations with them via the Internet, mention you are with the "DIS" group. Last year I e-mailed them with all the last names of the people with our gruop who already had reservations and they said they would try to get us on the same boat. They DO require a credit card to book the reservation, so everyone will have to reserve their own. Last year, there was NO problem canceling due to our hurricain situation.
We plan on doing the "half day" trip. I belive it starts at 10am.

Hello Guys:wave: Hope that everyone is doing well. Rosemary you will enjoy the brunch. Not only is there seafood (I am not a big seafood person), but cold cuts, pizza, lunch items, breakfast items, cheeses, fruit, pastries and a ton of other stuff. We had about 30 people last year for the dis brunch on Monday at sea. There is a bunch on Sunday as the boat pulls into Key West.

In Grand Cayman you can tour the island, dive in a submarine, swim with the the stingrays and a lot of shopping. The prices in Grand Cayman though are higher than in other parts of the Caribbean. The cars like in St. Thomas drive on the left as this was a British Colony at one time. I think it still is part of the commonwealth. Hard to remember as the coffee hasn't kicked in and there are cobwebs in the old brain.

Nancy hope that the zapping wraps up soon. I emailed Rikers mom to see how things are with her.

I saw on the news where Panama City was expecting some sleet mixed with rain today or last night. Bundle up Ave. Mike

Eric it is currently -6 degrees C here and the high today is going to be 1 degree C.:teeth: Mike

Heard from Rikers mom. Riker(her Weiner dog)is doing well after his surgery. He has some sight in the eye that was operated on and as long as he doesn't get too excited he doesn't run into things.

Looks like my Titans are headed to california to play the Oakland Raiders next sunday.

Cooler weather here is nice. I like the cooler weather versus the 98 degree temperatures and the 100% humidity of July and August.

Mary are you still working on the house? We had a new roof put on DD1's house and I could have had a nice disney cruise for that much money.

Mike

Mike, We are still plugging away at the house. Regina's room is now done,Geoge Jr's room was compleat before the holidays. Next to get worked on are the 2 bathrooms, then the last 2 bedrooms. It is ongoing:( but will get done in the next 18 mo. I hope:D
It seems a shame to spend so much on a roof, they are no fun!!!

Glad to hear Riker is doing better.

Kathy..hope you are feeling better soon!:D

MIke and Kathy,

Wow what a 4th quarter ( I had to work so I missed the rest of it.)!! Oh well, I guess I have to root for the Titans for the rest of the year.

Nancy

Is it PC to write about "Titans" on this family-oriented thread? :jester:

Mike,
we had nearly five inches of snow today at temps of about 28ºF. The streets are a mess, jams everywhere and crashes due to some jerks who think snowtyres are not necessary

There are always some like that Eric. Stay safe and tell Anja and Gramps we said hello. I would not mind a few inches of snow just to remind us what winter is all about.

Hope that everone is well and Kathy and I are looking forward to this cruise so much. Mike

Hi!
Will try to get a few lines in here while Becca's eating her lunch. I have her almost every day this week. She's started walking now, so it's an extra challenge!

Welcome Chuck and Dean! Hope to see you on the boards.

Eric--Thanks for the new update of the list. Be careful with the nuts on the snowy roads.

Tulirose-- Congrats on the new dining room set. I keep forgetting about the cruise chat, but will make a note of it for Friday. What time does it start? That's funny we have the same stuffed Mickey. I got ours free with purchase at TDS. Glad you're enjoying/using your Jazzercise classes. I need to get motivated to get moving here! I love being a grandma, but don't want to start looking like one! :(

Kathy with a K-- Hope you're feeling better. I keep trying to deny that I'm coming down with one, but I'm sniffling and my eye is starting to water. Ugh! Don't know where I got mine, so nobody to blame.

Mike-- It's 28º here and snowing big fluffy flakes. I'd gladly send you some if I could. :teeth:

The brunch you all are talking about sounds yummy!

Take care and stay warm!

Colleen

Mike (Papa) ... I'm going to discuss with Art the StingRay swim. Maybe he'll go this time since he already swam with one at Castaway Cay last cruise ... Remember Arca Swim!

Kathy with @K .... HEAL GIRL! Don't you just love it when you escape the germs yourself just to have someone bring it home for you,

Rosemary ... the brunch was soooooooooooooo good. You can't imagine all of the different foods there to munch on.

Ave ... Your work on the brunch worked out really well. I don't think Disney know what hit them when we invaided the ressi line.

Mary ... Could you give me the site for Capt Marvin's? Thanks

Rosemary ... Forgot to congratulate you on the new furniture. Isn't it funny that getting new stuff makes us old married couples so happy.

Eric & Anja ... Stay high and dry as best you can.

Dan & Scott ... HI, missed you not posting lately.

Art got me a Zen Garden or should I say Zen Beach for work. It's a little beach scene with an umbrella, deck chair, sand, fish, rake, etc. Really Cool :bounce: At least tricks the mind into thinking it's at Castaway Cay. Borders Books has them.

Back to work ....

Cathy with @ C

Just got back from the doctor's office and can we all say "epizutie"? Cause that is what I call it. When I was little and had a nasty cold/cough/flu symptoms that's what my grandmother called it. Lucky me got two more bottles of pills to take. Mike and I together have the market cornered at the Kroger Pharmacy. :( I really don't go in there as much as Mike but I must look bad cause the lady behind the counter knew who was sick.:(

That stupid kicker for the Titians just jinxed our win for next weekend. That was bad karma to brag about that kick and "taking a fall". I just wish he was here so I could whisper angrily at him. (I can't talk, Mike's happy:o Laryngitis) I just couldn't believe my ears this morning when he was bragging about becoming an actor when he got out of football! I was ashamed of him! He needs a few lessons about becoming a good winner!

Gripe and complain! That is me. ;) Hope everyone stays high and dry this week. Eric, we used to have an old Taurus station wagon and one night it was snowing heavily and there was a thick layer of ice under the snow. People were passing me on the right and left! I was so scared and was driving 10-15 mph. The idiots would honk and be ugly when they passed me. When I got to the last hill before getting to my street there were a bunch of those cars just all over the place. I just took my time and weaved in and out of the stalled cars and got on home with a big smile on my face.

The sun is shining and it is beautifull here today and in the mid 30's. I think that is around 1 degree C. ? It is supposed to get cold again this weekend. Stay warm.

The doctor seems to think I may have developed an infection somewhere. I am on two different drugs, one to dry me up and the other to kill any nasty germs. Take care, Kathy with a K

On real quick and just skimmed but want to send Kathy get well wishes in big bunches. Also, Scootersmom - Cruise chat starts at 9 p.m. NYC time on Fridays. umm.... Cathy - Zen picture you say? pretty neat.

Real reason for this post, however, is to say: I HOPE DAN DID WELL ON HIS WALKING MARATHON AT DISNEY WORLD OVER THE WEEKEND!!!! You didn't get cold feet and back out, did you, Dan?

@GoofyNut and anyone else who is interested in Capt. Marvins..the web site is www.captainmarvins.com

In Sept. I will get the first and last names of everyone in our group who has booked the StingRay trip with them and e-mail them. They said last year they would try to get us all on the same boat!

Dan, waiting to hear how the 1/2 marathon went?????

Kathy, fluids, rest, tylenol (that will be $100 please:p )

The Brunch last trip was SO MUCH FUN! We really did take over the dinning room! Although we could not all sit together Ave did a great job sitting us with people who we were NOT sitting with at dinner. This gave most of us a chance to have uninteruped conversations (no children:p ) with DIS folks we would have probably not gotten to talk with. We sat with Elaine and her DH and Mike and his DW. I am looking forward to doing it again!
Rosemary and Richard...you MUST do this!!!!!!!!!!There are lots of options besides seafood.
