Eric,

Yes we use real measurements here. The conversion happened somewhat gradually over the late 70's and early 80's. I remember taking 'metric' classes in about grade 7. I still find myself converting some measurements especially for cooking since most of the cookbooks are still imperial measurements rather than metric although a lot of Canadian cookbooks have both. Means that we actually have 2 sets of measuring cups and measuring spoons. It's actually kinda funny because my parents convert everything back to the imperial measurements especially the temperature while my DS doesn't have a clue how warm 90F is. I like km driving though because they go by more quickly.

Counting the days til October and love the bounces.

Mary ... OK, heart attack is over. I knew you were in one of the Carolina's BUT I had the wrong city. So glad it wasn't you guys. So sad for the families involved. Seems like the plane just fell from the sky.

Eric ... How is you weather now with the floods, etc?

My kingdon for a sunny weekend without any snow. I need to try and find my x-mas decorations that are buried. Next year I'm thinking of making them all red and white ... WHY you say, so that at least people will think that they are still there for Valentine's Day!

Check on you later ...............

Cathy with @ C

Cathy with @C -- I love the idea of the red and white lights. Have to take down and put away the Xmas decorations this weekend and am not looking forward to it.

On another note though I have a girlfriend (we've been friends since we were 7 and lived across the street from each other) who I haven't seen in about 5 years who's coming to town for a work meeting on Monday so we are getting together on Sunday -- really looking forward to that. She lives in Yellowknife so although we talk quite often we don't get to see each other often at all.

Fiona

Eric ... Where did you get the font for CruisetoberfestII? and how do I go about getting it? Look out, my minds spinning again.

Cathy,
our logo was made with WordArt, which is a standard feature of Microsoft Word. You find it under "Insert"--> "Graphics"---> "WordArt". I hope this is the right path to it, but I'll check it on Saturday in the office. I have a home-office-day tomorrow, because I bring our car to the shop to have the GPS-unit replaced. In the time they need for the replacement I take the subway home, do some work and then pick up our car in the early afternoon.
As I work for an American company, I have to cope with the American software and an American keyboard, at home everything is 100% German ;) I'll check it on my office puter and get back in touch with you. If you're using Word for your project you can also just 'steal' the logo from teh list with the "Copy/Paste"-feature.

Boy am I dumb! .... No laughing you guys. I never though of the cut and paste, I guess cause I didn't have Microsoft Word before in my old computer. Back to the drawing boards ... I mean computer.

Just saw a story today that Disney Magic and a company called CI Travel have joined together to have a "Pink Ribbon Cruise" on 9/20/03. Depending on the cabin category is how much will be donated toward Breast Cancer Research.

Hi gang:wave: Hope that everyone is doing well. We have been busy with chauffeuring and other things and haven't been able to get on the boards for a day or so.

Great to talk to you yesterday Cathy. Sorry that you guys have so much snow there in the pocono's(sp). It was 65 degrees here in Nashville yesterday using real temperature scale. Sorry Eric and Fiona just couldn't help myself. Old and no excuses:teeth:

Saw that the Magic was not able to tender at grand cayman due to the weather. Bummer I think that Grand Cayman really does not have the tropical feel of St. Thomas or some of the other places that we have been. It has the heat and humidity, but it just doesn't feel Caribbean. It seems more stateside feeling. High prices I guess.

Cathy with @C and I have matching calendars with tropical beaches on them. Kind of keeps us in the cruise mode when all around us says WINTER.

Have to run as DD1 is coming over and we are going to put new brakes on the pickup. Mike

Hi, all!

Hope everyone's doing good and keeping warm today. We're back to normal January Ohio weather here today, it's snowing after being in the mid-40's for a couple of days. All of our snow was gone!

I was playing around with some of our Christmas pics this a.m. and thought you might like to see some of our little Becca's first Christmas pics. Got them in an album, but not sure if I did the link to album correctly. Anyway, just had to show her off, she's so darn cute and we're having a blast with her. Can't believe she'll be a year old next week!

Enjoy!

Colleen

Mike,
real temperature scale? Does that mean Tennessee will be expelled from the Union, because it has independently adopted the metric system? BTW, 65ºC is a tough job for any aircondition :jester: :p :jester:

If anybody has any new info for the list, please send it until tomorrow noon (EST), I intend to do an update tomorrow evening (CET). I have to be at the office tomorrow :( and additionally our livingroom table is cluttered with everything we have about the Vienna-airport, because I worked on it today and will also work on it Sunday    But this overtime will pay for a lot of extra cocktails :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

My trainer developed a special training-programme for my preparation for the halfmarathon: I did 8 miles on monday, another 8 on tuesday, yesterday I did only 4, but pumped iron for an hour afterwards and today I did 10 miles in under 90 minutes - And this is just the beginning, in the third and the fourth week he intends to push my weekly running distance to about 45 to 50 miles per week. I must be an idiot to pay someone for tormenting me this way  He wants me to finish the halfmarathon in 1:43, I would be more than satisfied with 1:50, but he says I have the potential for that speed. We'll see it.

The floods are on a "hold"-status, due to the extremely low temps in the 0ºF-range many rivers are frozen now and hold tehir water back. Additionally we had lots of snow in the mountain. If the temps rise quickly again, we'll have a new flood. My sister's and my parents' house is on dry soil again, but the firefighters coulden't remove the barriers because they are frozen to the ground and can't be removed without destroying them.

So, Dan and Scott are in WDW and AGAIN neglected to send me a ticket to join them. WHAT am I going to do with them???!!!!

Welcome back from your trip Scootersmom. Sounds like it was a trip full of memories. Glad you had such a wonderful time. Love the picture of your little one and we have the same stuffed Mickey!

Mike - Thanks for your concern, but I think we will still try to take the autotrain. Just have to check prices as time gets closer.

Alikat - Have a wonderful Disney trip. First haircut at the Disney Main Street barbershop. Talk about memories!! Hope you are able to meet up with Dan and Scott.

Goofynut - What are you planning.... I wonder????

CDMickeylover - Hope all goes well meeting your old friend on Sunday.

Eric - Talk about training.... four, three, two, one, hep, hep!! I started my Jazzercise program Rich got me for Christmas this past Sunday. On Monday my calves ached unbelieveably!!! I also attended a Tuesday and Thursday evening class and then a 10 a.m. class today. I understand that it takes eight weeks for the body to adjust to a new routine (especially an out-of-shape body) so I am taking it slow and sticking mostly with the low impact form but I am having such a blast! And I am meeting people there that I already know which helps alot.

I hope to be in Cruise Chat in a little bit. Hope to see some of you guys there.... TWINAVE!!!! BTW Mike - Rich made me some white russians.... so I am ready.

Well, forget that last part of my post. It seems I can't get into chat for some reason.....

DAVE!!!! No wonder I missed your other cruise. You don't post enough!!! Your last post was on January 1st - EIGHT pages back. Who knows when the last post before THAT was! But I enjoyed chatting with you and Mike tonight in CRUISE CHAT.

Rosemary,
I'm proud of you!!! Do a very thorough stretch, especially for the legs, after the classes and during the day and your calves will feel better.
Low impact is ok. A correctly done low-impact-class is as effective as a high-impact-class and better for your joints - But high impact can be so much fun with the right music and a high BPM.

Is it too early to start thinking on who wants to go on what excursions and brunch at Palo's? Last year, I believe, Mary was working on Captain Marvin's StingRay Swim and Ave got together a list on a Palo's Brunch. Hey, It's better than looking out the window and seeing the snow!

Rosemary, don't worry EVENTUALLY you guys will all find out what I'm up to!

Have to make a run for PlayOff snack food for tonite and tomorrow. May we all be happy this time on Monday :p :p

Cathy with @ C

Your right Rosemary. I have just been "lurking" alot. But it was good chatting with you and Papa last night in Cruise Chat.

Dave

Dave good to chat with you and Rosemary last night. Hope that you Ellen and the Kids enjoy your upcoming cruise. Kathy and I are looking forward to seeing you all again in October. You were right about the heated seats in the VW. The front of your legs gets cool while your tush is toasty.

Cathy I have to run out shortly and get some snacks for the game. Although I might have to chase some dust bunnies out of the way in order to see the tv ;) I think that Kathy is wanting to do the captain Marvin's tour again and if Art is going I will too.

The work that Ave did on the brunch last year was great. I think that the same plan would work again.

Eric when the rivers thaw I guess that you will have the flooding problem again;)

Mike
