If you go via DU yo can request to be seated with other cruisers who used DU. I don't know about the transfer, Sorry.

Hey Dan all you have to do is book through DCL and then get the other person to email you their dcl reservation number and then you can link them. I booked through DCL this time and @GoofyNut emailed me her reservation #. I called DCL and had then linked for dinner. Your travel agent at DU or you, if you book directly can link them. Mike

PS Your niece is doing fine. What is it with red heads and tempers, or as you and Rosemary would say"Whats up with that?" Mike

We called Dreams Unlimited today and gave up our card number for the deposit! So, we have *OUR* room again. The same room we had in 2000 on the Wonder and 2001 on the Magic!

Welcome to alikat99 - While I am sure cruising with a verandah room is as wonderful as they say it is, we are Category 9 -- and very happy with the same. :D

Rosemary,

That is GREAT! I am so looking forward to this cruise!

To all: Mom has invited a friend to join us on this cruise. Her name is Jean. I have given her the address to this board so if she registers and posts please make her fel welcomed! (I'm sure you would have anyways!)

Dan

Thanks for the welcome Tulirose!!

I am so excited about this cruise, as it will be our first. My biggest reason for thinking about getting a verandah is that we will be cruising with my DD (who will be 2 when we cruise). I'm thinking that she will probably still be taking a nap during the day, and a verandah would give us a great place to be while she's sleeping.

Question for all of you veteran cruisers: I see that there is a privacy screen/curtain dividing the room. Is it just that, a screen/curtain? My biggest concern is that while Emily is napping that if we don't get a verandah, we will have to keep very quiet while she sleeps.

I just don't want to waste the points, if we don't need to, since we're booking via DVC.

I guess that we have some time before we make our decision, since we can't book until 11/11.

The screen is a "privacy curtain." You will still need to be quiet, unless your DD is a VERY light sleeper. The curtain will cut noise a bit, but not a lot.

Rosemary,

congratulations on your booking. You're welcome to use our verandah: 1 class at the gym=1 visit to our verandah :p

Dan'n'Scott,

if I understood your post correctly, you will be accompanied by Nate again. Say Hello to her and to Jean.

Congratulations Rosemary. Dan and Scott tell Nate we said hello and welcome to Jean. Still lurking. Trying to save my pennies to put down for deposit to join you guys :( Mike

Tim Larison, whom I believe also posts on the DIS boards, has a page comparing using DVC points to paying cash for cruises. He is a TA and I am not trying to direct customers to him, since DU is this forum's sponsor (and for that matter, I am a part-time TA myself), but I think the info is interesting - particularly for those booking the lower categories. I'm posting this on this thread to increase the thread's count ;-) , and because some of you mentioned booking with DVC points.

Hi all I'm here on my new computer next to DW's OLDER computer ready to join in. But one thing, I do not have DW's bantering ability. So I do have a Question, has anyone had experience with the AutoTrain? We plan to take it to the ship ( or as close as possible;) ). Also is the parking safe at the ship?

Tulirich,

I have not had any experiences with the autotrain, however I have parked at the port. On our first 3 day cruise we rented a car and parked there, remember this was when the front parking lot was open and everything was fine. I'm sure that your car will be safe even though the parking is further away now.

Congratulations on the new puter! Scott just got a new 53" TV. It is really nice, I hardly ever see him! LOL

Bantering, who banters around here?

Dan

Thanks Dan for the info. Sounds like a BIG parking lot ,or is the lot further because of security reasons. I hope I remember where the car is.

Scott- congratulations on the new TV. Keep control of the remote. ;)

FANTASTIC

Welcome to our small but growing group of 10/11/03 Cruisers with reservations in place.

All you other guys and gals planning, get your resevations in.....Dan & Scott, Goofynut, Papa..... only exuse is if you are booking on board in September (or October for Dan & Scott).

How about all the other Cruisetoberfest I folks that are lurking out there.....

Tulirose & Tulirich, as I am sure you have been, we have been very busy with High School graduation last month and preparing for college in the fall. Here is a picture of DD with DW on graduation day. Our graduation was outside and it poured for the 15 minutes or so that they were marching in. Then the sun came back out, but they were all drenched. DD hates her hair in this picture from the rain....bad hair day, but I don't care....

Cruisetoberfest II here we come,
Dave

Rich,
DH and I took the autotrain last year. Did one of the overnight sleeper rooms. Expensive but worth it for us since we were staying in Fl for a total of 2 weeks and had lots of people to see. Also had junk to move from north to south and vice versa. We tried to justify the cost against 2 nights hotel, airfare for 2 and a rental for 2 weeks.
It's actually a nice trip - especially if the alternative is driving. We have parked at the port for all of our cruises and have never had a problem. Not even last time when we did the 3 day - 7 day back-to-back.

Nancy

Dave,
I think DH is planning to re-book onboard as well. At this point I think there are any other better offers. What a great way to spend this year onboard credit - on next year's vacation deposit.

Nancy

PS - your DD's hair looks just fine. Congrats to all of you.

Great picture! Your daughter looks beautiful even after the rain. Will she be joining you on the 10/11/03 cruise?

Shari

Hi, we are planning on being there! We might book while on board in Sept. We are also looking at using DVC points next time.
Rest assured...come h*ll or high water...we will be there!

Come hades or high water we will be there even if I have to sell one of the kids;) Please leave the ship in good shape for us in September Dave.

Parking was no problem at the port Rich. The lots are fenced in and we felt safe leaving Kathy's car there. Everyone have a nice night. Mike

Hey RellingTwin! You killed the 'puter virus! (Or did you buy a new one?)
