37 Weeks to go!

It seems SO far, but I know from experience it will be here before we know it! I got my EBay 2 way radios in the mail yesterday, and the lanyards are on their way!
DS needs a new Tux this year. I got two cruises out of the last one but he's grown a few inches since then, so I think Ave's son is going to get it and DS will move up to a size 10.
So you see, it's NEVER TOO early to start shopping!!!

For all our southern friends...hate to "rub it in ",but we will be a balmy 26 degrees today.......First time in 13 days !!

We will be at WDW May 24th till June 1st..Anyone else ?

Mary (again) got the item you need for laynards...also bringing LOTS of glow bracelets.....and glow rings for our group of kids...

Chris ... I guess for Tampa a long sleeve shirt and a sweatshirt is bundling up BUT here we call layering:
1. underwear
2. t-shirt
3. long sleeved shirt
4. long sleeved sweatshirt or sweater
5. scarf (wrapped around twice)
6. fluffy liined coat (with wind proof cuffs)
7. fur lined gloves
8. fur hat (down over ears of course)
and that's just the top half of the body.....

I think the "girls" have the right idea ... time to start the "cruise buying" and "gathering box"......to think warm thoughts.

Wonder what it's like at WDW when it's so cold? How do they protect the flowers and water fountains, etc ... ANYBODY!

thanks for the lanyards!!
I still wear my USA-lanyard from Cruisetoberfest I daily at the office. My official Jeppesen-lanyard rests in my desk's drawer since October 2001.
And I share a problem with George W. (Your George W. of course, not the guy in Pennsylvania Avenue ): My tux doesn't fit anymore, I need to have it altered or get a new one - Or I have to eat like a pig the first three weeks in Florida before the cruise to make it fit again

And I have a question to all of you:
Does anyone know if there are any special perks when your at WDW on your birthday?
Last time I was at the Universal Studios on my birthday and we had a party at the 50ies Cafe with free cakes, balloons, funny hats and Scooby Doo and his friend, Laurel & Hardy and Marilyn Monroe singing "Happy Birthday" for us.
Does Disney offer something similar?

Today I bought a brandnew set of running clothes for my Halfmarathon and on thursday I got myself some new running shoes.

Now it's bed time, I have to get up at 0630am to drive Anja to the hospital. She still refuses to get a drivers's license and I have to be the chauffeur.

Still warm and well in the Fl panhandle. Cold, but we can handle it. At least we have NO Snow. Thanks for the reminder story Cathy. My daughter and I drove to Tallahassee today. Had some shopping to do. Had a great day! And I got the Bruce Springsteen Live From New York CD. So we ROCKED all the way home. Now I have a couch full of laundry to fold. LOL

We just decided to stay off-site this year when we do WDW. One of the largest German travel agencies offers the Hilton Garden Inn across from Seaworld for €62 per night, the best rate we could find on the web for the same room was $ 129.90!!!
And due to the bad market -still adversely influenced by the terrorist threat and the danger of war- they offer great ticket deals over here:
-For €309 per person 30 (Yes THIRTY!!!) days full admission to all WDW-parks, the water parks, WideWorld of Sports, Downtown Disney/Pleasure Island and DisneyQuest, and a character breakfast; admission to the Dali Museum in St. Pete, the Kennedy Space Center with all tours and cinemas, the Ford/Edison-winterhomes and the Miami SeaAquarium.
-For €108 per person we get 21 days unlimited access to SeaWorld and BuschGardens.
-Only USF/IoA offer no better deal than in the US, but I think we can live with that

In two weeks we will go to our local TA and make him 4 to 5 Grand richer - Lucky guy.

Eric..nice to hear you are getting some good deals. When living in Florida we bought "annual resident passes" several times. This allows entry to all the parks for 280 days of the year (not valid during summer, spring break or Christmas week) for slightly LESS then the 5 day "World Hopper" pass. no brainer if you live in Fl.


Dan...tell Dean and Chuck it IS a cult!!!! They have to give ALL their money to the big Mouse!

I think for that price we should consider becoming Florida residents too - Is there Florida Alien Resident Annual Pass available
BTW, About 10 minutes ago I called our dive instructor in Florida to transmit my credit card info for our dive class. So you can count us in for the Cozumel-Tour - And as stated before: We are looking forward to spend a wonderful day with the kids!!!!

Best part is wherever you are on the ship (except your own stateroom) you will be able to meet a friend and any ?'s you may have ... always have an answer for you.

I will not be watching the Super Bowl except for maybe the half time show. Since the garbage man took all my junk, I have been busy doing more decluttering. Sat I cleaned out the bathroom closet. Had two bags of trach just from that area. Today am working on bedroom drawers and watching lifetime tv movies while doing it. Another bag of trash and a box of old clothes so far. At 7pm I am going to watch the travel channel which has cruise ships.

It has gotten warmer here, in the 20's but is now snowing. For the Super Bowl, a friend was having a scrapebook party at her house and all the men were going to go to another house that has a big screen TV. We decided to stay home since it is snowing.

Elaine--- I haven't seen the new Disney scrapebooks. Wonder if they will have them at downtown disney in the one store where they now have all the new scrapebook stuff. I haven't been scrapebooking much, but need to get DS #2 book caught up. I have up to his senior prom but want to get him caught up to going off to college. With the holidays I used my scrapebook table to wrap gifts so now have that all away need to start working on it again. I need to buy another big album for our family vacations starting with the 9/28 cruise. I am so envious of your trip to WDW. We were to have gone on the 2/9 Wonder and then a few days at WDW. I cancelled in Dec since I didn't know how I would feel. However, I feel fine and would have been able to go for the trip. Oh well, we are doing 2-- 7 day cruise this year and will go to WDW in May after our cruise. Glad things are going well for you with selling the house and your classes. Tell William Norm and I said hi.

Bette-- We are at WDW 5/21-5/24, but leave on 5/24 for a 7 day Carnival Pride cruise and will be back at WDW 5/31-6/4. Maybe our paths will cross.

Dan--- Wow, I didn't know that I belonged to a cult. People at work do think I have a thing going with "The Mouse", since I am always wearing some sort of Disney jewelry, pins, or shirts. Now I can tell them I am part of the cult.

Kathy--- Have you seen Bunny since you got back? I am going to email her right now to find out how she is. Your red beret, has keep my head nice and warm this winter. I have had many compliments on it. I look so coordinated, red beret, red gloves, and red scarf. If I got lost in the snow, I will be easy to find.

Hi all you who are watching the superbowl! I am not one of them. Just finished watching the pop up divas special on VH1, No, I do not usually watch that channel, but had to see my favorite performer, Cher. We saw her concert in December and it was awesome. I have a "thing" about her now! Last weekend watched all her old movies. She really does have a great voice,

Nancy, I must start decluttering as soon as we get back. I am sure I wll have enough to start a thrift shop myself! Where is all the scrapbook stuff at Disney? Bill and the boys want to spend one day at DisneyQuest and since that is definitely not my thing, I thought I would shop around.

Cathy, I made a trip to the disney store yesterday. I had heard a rumor that they had pins on sale for a buck. It was true I got 30 pins for about thirty bucks!! They are nice pins and the kids can use them for trading.
William says to say thank you for the neat frame you sent him. He is having a hard time deciding which pins to put in it. We have been having "pin trading" the past few nights at home. It is fun to get them out right before a trip to disney. We don't really look at them too much other than that.

It is 51 degrees here today. It looks like some clouds might be moving over so maybe a little rain.

Mike and Cathy, hope you got Scarlet all cleaned up and running again. I am so jealous of all of you that have snow. We just haven't had any yet this year.
We are trying to work a deal with our developer here in Hidden Springs. We want to buy the lot that is next door to our neighbor. Then we would just be on the other side of her~~ We love our neighbors, can you tell?? The boys play so well and we love our street. Our neighborhood is reallly neat., like Celebrations, Florida. Sometimes it gets a little annoying when everyone knows everything about you, but it is a small price to pay to live in such a pleasant and friendly place.
