Hello all. I hope everyone had a nice weekend. We took the kids to see Harry Potter (OK ..I've been looking forward to it also) and we were not disapointed. It was as good as the 1st one.

Rosemary, nice to see you back to your mega posting self!;)
Is Dan going to visit you in NY? BTW it takes 40 weeks (10 mo or 280 days) to "grow" a baby!

Hi Windy!

99...have a great time @ WDW!Will you be there for Turkey Day?

We are going to Wash DC (in spite of the terrorist threats). We will only get to spend a few days this year because of my work schedule, so probably will not be taking in too many sites. But it will be nice to visit my sister and her family. We have attempted to tour the White House for the past 2 years, but all tours were cancelled last year due to 9/11, the year before that they were cancelled because of the Christmas decorrating going on. Since my sister works for the White House we get a "special" tour, but it looks like this year they will be cancelled due to hightened security again:(

Hello everyone. Hope that all is well and we are looking forward to this cruise.

Feel like I am pregnant already and the holidays are approaching. Have the makings for 2 pecan pies so that is on the menu along with other stuff.

Have changed my signature hope that you all like it. Mike

Mary---Sorry to see that the Martin Miracle didn't happen. Now for an entire year we have to see how unchampionlike Tony can be.

I have been busy handling a Thanksgiving hockey tournament crisis over the weekend. In 2 weeks it will be all finished. Then only Christmas to do and then Jan 1 I retire from the tournament business. Plus we went out to see DS#2 hockey games over the weekend. We got to see his first college win in goal. The team gave him the game puck and he gave to me to write on and put in his puck collection.

Starting tomorrow will have a special "glow" about me.

I'm off to read my new Janet Evanovich book "Visions of Sugar Plums" On Friday finished her "Full House" book, easy reading while you are hanging out waiting for appointments.

Later.

Nancy

We're actually leaving for WDW right after turkey day. We'll be going December 1st through the 6th. Since we're going with a couple of WDW virgins, we are planning on doing all of the holiday events (Osborne lights, MVMCP, CP). And, my brother is even thinking of proposing to his girlfriend while we're there too.

It should be great, I'm just hoping that the weather starts to get just a tad warmer here. I know, everyone up north is probably thinking that I'm crazy, but I would like it a little warmer than 60s when we go to WDW. But, after living in Chicago most of my life, I'll take almost any weather that is over freezing.

Hi!
Checking in before I turn in for the night. You've been busy posting this weekend! 1000 posts, huh? I'll have to start jumping in here more often!

Viking--We got the list! Thanks! Now we really feel official.

Alikat99--Your WDW trip sounds great! Hope you have a wonderful time and the weather warms up a bit. We had family chat tonight and my sister in Gainesville was turning on her furnace. Brrr! Hope it's warmer than that when we're there for New Year's, but anything warmer than Ohio will be a plus.
;)

Relling Twin-- Have a great trip to DC to visit your sister! We keep saying we're going to visit there........

We also saw Harry Potter yesterday. I read that it was almost 3 hours and thought that would be so long, but couldn't believe it was over at the end! I wanted more! Very good movie.

Tulirose-- Glad you don't mind the 'stories'. Man, I felt like such a crumb of a mom today. I was busy this afternoon cleaning, straightening, etc., gearing up for my parents and one of my sister's visit later this week. Josh has a writing assignment due at school tomorrow and wanted me to proofread the rough draft. So, I grudgingly sat down to read it.. how long will it take, etc. Well, the assignment was to write about a person you admire and... you can guess what's next, right? He wrote about me! LOL He wrote that he thinks my eyes are blue as the sky and my hair is sunflower blond. About how nice I am and I let him toss ice cubes to the dog and let him help bake cookies....all the 'important' stuff, you know. Took the wind right out of my sails, let me tell ya! LOL

Rambling done... Have a good night, all! I'm off to bed... tomorrow I'm shampooing carpets and the rest of the week I'm babysitting our sweet little Becca, who was 10 months old yesterday! :-)

Colleen

OK, I'm checking in too. Was lurking last night, reading the late night posts, but it was only 10:30 here...I thought it must be on time delay or something until one of you posted that it was 1:30am!! I was too tired to post, don't know how you guys were doing it that late.

We saw Harry Potter today too...really enjoyed it but there were a few too many creepy crawlies in it for me. My son says I'm a wimp and he's right.

My sister came to visit yesterday and we did our annual Christmas shopping marathon. Spent 9 hours at the mall and got 90% done (lots of great sales). I like to be finished by Thanksgiving so I can avoid the crowds and spend my December decorating, baking and wrapping. We saw Jerry Rice (Oakland Raider football player but always a 49er to me) doing a charity autograph session and we were going to buy a football to get signed but there were only about 1000 people in line!! If I'm going to be in a line that long, there better be a ride at the end :D He sure was a cutie though.

Tulirose - been following the Survivor thread on the CB. We'll have to discuss sometime. I was very disappointed that Ken was voted out last week...he was my favorite.

That's all for now. Everyone have a great week! Only 47 to go.

Hey You Posting Animals,

that's the way it has to be :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

We didn't make it to the cinema this weekend, Anja had to jump in for a sick colleague, but we decided to see HP next Saturday in the original English version. We're really looking forward to it.

Good morning everybody, just got home from work. Mike called me to ask me to look at the picture of Katie and all I got to see was a red "X" on the screen at work. Does anyone else see her? She is a little cutie. :teeth:

We had only one baby in the NICU and I took care of her and did charge. My friend did the time for next month and just messed around, essentially. She is really good at messing around.;) She kept going to L&D to try to jinx them into having moms come in to have babies. It didn't work. She had to take first admit though if we did get a baby in.

I am a Scooter's Mom too! We call our oldest daughter "Scooter" Her name is really Kathryn Michelle but she would rather go by 'Scooter'. She got that the day she was born. I have not been able to break myself from calling her that in 29 years.:o Take care, Kathy

Kathy - I was gonna write that papa's new signature is just a red X. I was wondering what he changed it to. I should have realized it would be a picture of Katie. Hope you guys get that fixed so we can see her cutie face with every post you make.

I caught Tulirich up to speed with this thread last night. Took well over an hour to do same and we did not go through the entire thread, just back to shortly prior to Dan&Scott's Halloween Cruise. He was going to post following this but said it was too late for him to post anything. Maybe tonight!
Good night, sleep tight, no muttering, all right? Ave
MARY! Did you know your sister was a poet??? :teeth: Okay Ave. You persuaded me to stop my muttering and forgive my friend Dan. I do understand that he speaks (writes) without thinking. :p And Mary, YES! Dan and I will get together when he comes to NYC. Can't wait! Hey! Maybe Art and Cathy can join us too.

by RellingTwin - BTW it takes 40 weeks (10 mo or 280 days) to "grow" a baby!
I do keep forgetting that. After all, I did have my baby after only 29 weeks. Enjoy your visit to D.C. with your family.
by padisneyfan - Starting tomorrow will have a special "glow" about me.
 Umm, Nancy, are you trying to tell us something? Something to do with a nine (or ten) month timeframe? Inquiring minds need to know! :D

Alikat - Have a great visit to WDW. I understand about the temperature thing. First time we went as a family we left on Thanksgiving Day and arrived to warm Florida weather but then for the rest of our trip the temperatures dropped and we had to buy sweatshirts. Not the Florida vacation weather I was planning on! Hope the weather warms up for all of you. And how neat is that with your brother proposing to his GF on this trip! Sounds like you are all going to have a great time!

Scootersmom - Love the story of Josh's writing assignment. Melted my heart and I'm not even his Mom! What a great kid you have there!

DopeysGal - Did you ever gain access to the Chat Room? Gotta figure that out so we all can start chatting. I just missed Papa at Friday night's chat. I got in there after 10 p.m. And if you are following the Survivor thread on the Community Board, Please Post on it too. We love reading everyone's different (and similar) viewpoints on the show!

By Viking - Hey You Posting Animals,
that's the way it has to be
Eric - You sound like the proud father of his children who did good! ;)

Well Well Well if my dearest Tulirose isn't up and posting!

Papa,
Got the pics of Katie-are you sure she likes the outfits with that screaming fit in the pic! LOL

Dan

Just thought I'd stop in and say hello. We will be cruising on this cruise also. I'm looking forward to it. We had an awesome Halloween cruise this year and I can't wait to get back again.

Sue Ellen

So, for those of you wondering why I am posting in the middle of the morning when I should be at work, it is because I am home - again. Which would be a good thing because the reason I am home is because we are finally getting work done on the little bathroom!!! YEAH! But this is taking forever. The guy didn't come on Friday and we wanted this done by Friday. He works bankers' hours but he is a VERY NEAT worker and seems to be doing a really good job. It just that we thought this would only take a week and we are now entering the second week!

ALSO - I just went over the cruise list again and I noticed the very last addition are fellow NY'ers who live where Rich and I lived when we were first married. Obviously not DIS'ers because there is no User Name. Any info on this family for me? I'd email them, but kinda want to know where they came from before I do same. Thanks.

Hi Dan!! Yes, I know. I've gone manic with my postings! Eric will be so proud!

SueEllen! Welcome to our thread and the Cruisetobefest II DIS Cruise! Find a post by Viking and click the link in his signature so you can get on our mailing of the cruise listing for this cruise.

Dan - I don't care about 800. I want 1000! - Me

Welcome SueEllen,
I'm looking forward to your mail and please say "Hi" to JR and Miss Ellie :jester:

Rosemary,
I would never have guessed that Richie was born too early, you obviously did a great job on him (And so did Rich!!).

Mike,
perhaps you are Xorro now and always sign with an X :jester: Do you use a saber? Are you wearing a black mask? I'm just asking because you might get into trouble when you try to board the ship on a black stallion :p :bounce: :p :Pinkbounc

Okay - The bathroom guy left for the day and he did a lot today.

The tile is up in the shower area (along with the shampoo caddy). Including the Listello tile (decorative border tile). We also have three deco tiles and I had him move those from where he placed them to suit my taste. No problem for him to do that. (He really is very nice.)

He installed the toilet - an American Standard High Hamilton elongated space-saving one-piece with a higher bowl (16 & 1/8th inches - meets American Disabilities Act guidlines) with added seat it will 17 to 19 inches from the floor (guess it depends on toilet seat height). Our choice was sort of limited because the space in this room is limited and we wanted the shortest distance from wall (in addition to a higher toilet).

He installed the vanity which we also ordered in higher than normal bathroom counter height. It is actually the height of kitchen cabinets. I can't wait for Rich to come home and see this installed. His back will be so pleased.

He put in the new door and trim.

Still much to do. I don't think tomorrow will be the finishing day. He still has to:
  • Grout floor and shower walls
  • Install both sink & shower faucets (although plumbing was done earlier on)
  • Move the shower drainage pipe (I see that as being a big job)
  • Install the medicine cabinet
  • Install the over-the-john cabinet
  • Install marble door saddle and window sill (which did not come in with our order)
  • Install light fixture
  • Finish off the ductless vent fan (said something about spackling needs to set first & then he cuts it more)
  • Install the shower doors (which we also ordered in extra height size)
  • Hang towel rack and ring and TP holder
  • Put backsplash onto the sink counter (granite)
  • Install door and drawer pulls on cabinet
He already told me that the vanity drawers need to go back to shop because turnoff valves for sink will interfere with their closure so they will need to be cut shorter.

I'm sure there will be a few other odd and end items to be taken care of but do you think he will be finished with the big stuff as listed above by tomorrow?

Can't help you with the bathroom question. We had tile put into the front hall and the back hall and it was supposed to take 3 days -- it took more like 3 weeks. The guy was good but very slow because of other work that he had to do. He wasn't there for the entire 3 weeks it was just spread out. Hopefully he'll finish the major stuff tomorrow.

Glad to hear that Harry Potter is good although I'm not sure about creepy crawly things. I'm in the middle of reading the second book and won't see the movie til I've watched the first -- Jim has been counting the days to see it and is disappointed I haven't finishing reading it yet. My son on the other hand has no interest in it. Took him to see 8 Mile and he had to translate for me. It wasn't bad though.

We have snow on the ground here -- racked the last of the leaves on Saturday and it snowed Saturday night and most of yesterday. Looks pretty though. I just hope it lasts til Christmas -- we usually get snow in November but by Christmas everything is bare and brown.

Dreaming of a white Christmas for this year.
