Nancy (Windy),
thanks for the links. Cathy and I are looking for a drawing or cartoon of a Mickey in Lederhosen to be used for our logo, but now we know that he exists.

Mike and Kathy,
we love your pics!!

It's been so long since I posted that I forgot my password. Rosemary ordered me to post or I was not allowed to use the new bathroom. ;) But I've been busy. To satisfy my midlife crisis, I bought a new 2003 Monte Carlo SS. Richie asks to borrow it to pick up his girlfriend. Things have changed. When I was his age, I would never asked to borrow my father's car to pick up girls.

Papa, I saw the picture of your granddaughter and she is a cutie. I think she may need some weights in her diaper to hold her upright.

Welcome to all the new people. There are many people looking over the shoulders of "them who type", so this adventure in cyberspace is greater than it appears. Maybe one night all these lurkers will get on-line together and what's the worse that could happen.... blank screens??

Count us in for a web page. As you can see, Tulirich has our picture with his every post! And he finally is posting!

I can't believe I didn't post on this thread yesterday. I just asked Rich, wasn't I home all day? Why didn't I post? Paperwork, I was doing LOTS of paper work, he reminded me. OH! And my brother is making a family DVD and I was going through photos and sending them to him. That took a lot of time!

Bathroom is coming along. No sink but we can shower and ... umm... flush! :o

Came in from dinner out with the girls and I'm tired so I am not gonna write much for me but I did wish to respond to following:

In preparation for Cruisetoberfest I, many of us joined cruise chat here on the DIS when we were free on Friday nights and then we would periodically schedule a Saturday a.m. (EST) chat so that our German friends could join in on the fun. Not everyone participated but those that did had great fun. So, try to get registered here at the DIS chat room and try to pop in on Friday nights to begin with and then we can work up to scheduling time for Eric and Anja to join in too. I can't remember if our previous California family joined us in the Saturday scheduled chat. Since we have another California family going this year, you will have to let us know if it will work for you. I'm pretty sure Steve did join us in chat but I just might be remembing the Friday night ones.

Anyway, I went back to work today after missing 5 whole work days and I'm tired so I'm going to bed now. Night!

Nancy,
thanks a lot for the pic you sent to our Cruisetoberfest-account. This is exactly what we're looking for, but unfortunately the pic is so small, that enlarging it to a usable size changes it into a cluster of blurred pixels.
Where did you find it? Perhaps there's a better pic of it available.
At least you proved, that what Cathy's looking for really exists and we're not hunting for a figment.

To all:
Please send your pics for the homepage. Colleen had a great idea to keep them private: The link to the page will only be sent to the registered members of our group and not incorporated into any posts.
I will only use pictures which are SENT to me or pictures from Cruisetoberfest I, if I get a permission of the veterans to use them.
Please don't send me links to pics to have me grab them. That will be to much work, just send what you want to be published.
Thanks for all your input

Eric you have our permission to use the photo #crw3 in the castaway cay folder on the 09/28 cd that I sent to you. If Cathy and Art agree. If not we will select another one.

Katie is under the weather and we will be keeping her tonight.

How many of you are thinking about doing the stingray city tour in Grand Cayman? Mike

Just got back to COLD Idaho from Florida. Brrrrrr! Even my cat doesn't want to go outside. But hey - Sun Valley (skiing) opens next Tuesday!

Had a WONDERful time on my two Wonder cruises over the last few weeks. Just sorry I did not get to spend more time with other DISers. Now I have to face 5 weeks of unopened (and much important) snail mail! But more important is editing and posting my digital pics and articles for my website. :smooth:

@GoofyNut: I mailed the Wonder dangly pin and remainder of the money to you on Sunday from FL. It's in a Disney Cruise envelope. Please PM me when you receive it. No luck on the Ariel statue pin although there were other Ariel pins available.

RellingTwin: I haven't carefully read all the recent pages of this thread, but did catch the mention of Mark Martin. Just curious - Are you a friend, fan, relative?

Viking: What size picture is best to send you for the web page?

Shari

Shari,
the size of the picture doesn't matter as I have a DSL-connection. The bigger - the better. I can shrink it if necessary, which is always better than enlarging of a small pic. But whom do I tell this? You're the pro :p
I haven't build a homepage so far, to be honest, I've never done it before, but I think it will be fun ;)

To Everyone:
As our free Yahoo-Account has only limited space, please send your pics to my AOL-account. You'll find the adress on you copy of The List.
Thanks a lot

Papa - The sting ray city tour in Grand Cayman sounds like fun but I was really looking forward to seeing the guy juggle the cats. I might even practice with my cats. They are declawed, after all.

Viking - Sounds like a real challenge to start this web page but being German I know you can do it efficiently! ;)

Rich the cat juggler is #1 on our to see list.Hope that you and Rosemary are doing better.

Eric I saw an program on the history channel about the building of the autobahn. There was a guy testing a porsche for a customer on the autobahn and he was driving at 212 mph. What is that about 341kph?

Mike

Mike,
that is absolutely correct. But speeds like that are only possible sunday mornings at 5 am, when the Autobahn is absolutely empty.
All cars by Mercedes, Audi and BMW are therefore governed at 155 mph - voluntarily by the manufacturer. But you can have the limiter removed by tuners - with the loss of your warranty, of course. My usual cruising speed on an unlimited Autobahn is about 100mph, which is fast, reasonably save and fuel efficient. My car is capable of about 130-135 mph, but this only drives up the fuel consumption - AND the adrenaline production ;)

Did you all hear about the Magic? It has been hit with the same bug that got the Holland ship. 100 people are ill and they have ordered the ship and the island disinfected. I feel so bad for those on the cruise now. It must be some food that all the ships get from the same place? Elaine

Elaine,
that sounds creepy. Do you have a link for more info? Such a bad way to spend a vacation :(
But I also had to think: What if it causes diarrhea? Will you be deaf after overexposure to the ship's toilets? :jester:

Mary,
I got the pic, thanks a lot. I downloaded it in the office and showed it to a colleague of mine whose name is also Jäger ;)
But he still has the dots above the "a" :p He told me to say "Hi" from Jäger to Jager

That is also the name of one of my DH's bird dogs (German Shorthaired Pointer)! Same spelling. :jester:

Shari,
my colleague Andy will be delighted to hear that ;) But as he is the newbie in our team we thought about retrieval training for him. He's already going at heel and housebroken anyway :jester:
Jäger is a very common name over here, meaning "Hunter". You can also order Jäger-Schnitzel in every German restaurant, a Schnitzel served with brown gravy and mushrooms usually with potatoes or fries as a side. And then there is the worldfamous Jägermeister (Masterhunter), which I deeply detest.

Tulirose - I'm online now, and I'd love to chat, but I don't remember where the instructions are to get on.

Hi Alikat!! (I was busy posting on the Survivor thread :o )

Always at the top of the cruise board is a permanent thread written by CarolAnnK which gives the link to the chat room. Here is a quick link to it. chat room link

I'm heading to the chat room now. Hope to see you there! :D

Thanks for the praise Rich,
it's good to hear that my government didn't ruin the German reputation completely - Although they're working on it very hard :(

Rosemary, sorry about missing the chat last night but Mike was driving me to BFE to see a client. One more red light and Mike said we would have been in another county. I have two clients like that. I think I am going to drop them. They both have babies that are nearly a year old and no real reasons to see them.

Katie is sick with a cold and is having trouble breathing. She sits with her little mouth open to breathe and is miserable. She has had synergis injections twice now so it is not RSV but she is still miserable. She has become a drool monkey as her Uncle Mikey calls her. She has to wear a bib all day long or she would be wet.

Glad you had a nice time on your cruise taswira. *Sigh* Wish we were going sooner than next October.

Stacey drew out a Mickey in lederhosen to send to Eric and he is cute! Mike is coloring him in but I think he is cute as a pen and ink drawing. You all can decide.

Gotta get my shower and get ready to go to the art store here in Nashville with Stacey. I love going there. The only one better is in Knoxville and takes 3-4 hours to get there.

Take care everyone. Elaine, I will get those pins sent, I promise William. Kathy

Cathy and Eric I have sent you an email containing a german mickey in lederhosen that Stacey drew.

It is kind of scary what with all the viruses spreading on the cruise ships.

I am still looking for pictures of the cat juggler at Key West.

Has anyone heard from Rikers Mom in the last little bit?

If we make our Key West stop we can probably pick up cokes and stuff to take onboard there without having to drag it through the terminal. Mike
