Amy...here's a joke for you!
Q:What's the difference between a green bean and a booger?
A: A child will EAT a booger!!!

Welcome home to all the travelers! Glad to have you back. There will be a test on the pages posted while you were gone so START READING!LOL!

Welcome to all the new posters as well. Hope, and Jean and Doug! Glad to see everyone jumping in and getting to know one another. It is so cool MaryJo and Doug have "met" again! What a small world!Know your kids really will have built-in friends for the cruise:p

I promise I have read all 4 pages that have been posted since I read them this morning, but we have grown SO MUCH it's hard to keep track of who said what! Thank heaven for Eric's list, and for the name tags Cathy is making!!!

Tina...Key West is going to be so much fun!

Just so we have a re-cap for any newbies, here are the meetings we have going so far:

Friday night 10/10/03 Radisson Hotel
Maybe poolside, maybe in a meeting room.
Light snacks, bring your own beveragees

Saturday 10/11/03 Sail-A-Way Party
4:30 either deck 10 overlooking the Goofy Pool or in front of Topsiders. Please try to make it to this! This is when I will give out the Lanyards, and BetteMom will give out the badge holders. These will help you spot other DIS'ers throughout the rest of the cruise.

Sunday 10/12/03 Key West
ScavangEAR Hunt!!! this is being organized by Hopkins (Tina) and there are currently over 50 people signed up. We are going to meet at 1PM in front of the stairs to the Hilton Hotel Lobby. It's to the right of the red brick building (Custom House) as you leave the ship.Payment needs to be made in advance (in July) and Tina will post the address. If you want electric carts you will need to reserve these yourself.

Monday 10/13/03 At Sea
Brunch in Palo. TwinAve (Ave) is organizing this. She will get names and cabin numbers in the near future.

Tuesday 10/14/03 Grand Cayman
Capt. Marvin's 1/2 day StingRay trip 10am
Reservations for this must be made yourself, BUT if you let them know you are with the DIS group, they will try to put us all on the same boat! The web site is www.CaptainMarvins.com

Dan is "linking" all our dinning reservations. This will mean that all the Early diners who "link up" will be on the same dinning rotation and be seated in the same part of the dinning room. The same goes for the Late diners.

Last year many families also "linked" their dinning reservation to one another so they were seated at the same table! This is something each party will have to make arragments for themselves.

I am bringing 130 Lanyards. I think this will be enough for everyone. BetteMom is bringing 100 plastic "badge holders" to attach to the lanyards as well as some fun things for the kids! Cathy is bringing name tags for all who sign up on Eric's list.
Iron on T-shirts Logos are "in the works" .
If we continue to grow we made need someone to pick up a few addition things.
In addition to all this!!!! Some folks are planning to bring small items from their home state to pass out to fellow cruisers!
I hope any "lurkers" will join in the fun, and get your name and info to Eric, so you can get on the list!

okwmiester

We should try to meeting up during one of your trips to Rochester. Our girls are 13 and 10. I am sure they love to email your children. The 10yr is starting to worry there will be no other older non teens on the ship.

That was a nice recap of the planned activities. I didn't know about Palo's. How many people from the boards did you have last year? And why are there so many DIS cruises at this time?

Thanks for all the kind words, everyone!
Tina :)

Arlene...PLEASE do not feel intimidated. Yes, some of us have met before, and since Papa, @GoofyNut and I have been on the past 2 cruises we probably know more then most BUT...There are far more people I do not know then people I do!I think you will be pleasently surprise at how "normal" everyone is when you meet them. No Ax murderers, no Super models, just Disney fans who are looking forward to fun! I could not agree with Cathy more about the cruise after Sept 11th. We were all very upset (as were all Americans) but we shared a special time with one another. I simply could NOT imagine going ahead with plans to cruise if I had not been on these boards. I would have felt so alone!
On a happier note Arlene...jump right in! The more you read/post the better the cruise!:bounce:

I definitely agree Arlene. When I first decided on this cruise, I was actually disappointed because I originally wanted to cruise on 10/4, because DDs 2nd birthday will be the 5th. But, since the Magic was in drydock that was impossible. We were wavering between going on the last cruise before drydock or the first one. We finally decided on 10/11 and then I found this thread. I couldn't be happier. I've already met Shari (taswira) at MNSSHP in October and I'm planning on meeting Dan in June. Plus, with all of the postings, I feel that I've already met a ton of new friends. You'll just love this group of people, I do!!!

Ok, I think that I'm done posting for tonight!! Good thing that I'm not going out of town again until May. I can't imagine what I'll miss when I'm gone for almost a week!!!

And, hello to all the newbies!! Our group is definitely growing by leaps and bounds!!

Ok, ok, one more post!!

You are so right about that!!! And, Emily's favorite body part right now is her nose. She points to it all the time and she even likes to touch other people's noses. And, I caught her the other day with her little bitty finger up that little bitty nose of hers. She's just fascinated by her nose!!!

Has anyone been on or know anything about the sunset sailing in Key West?

Amy, I'm not sure why there are so many DIS'ers. I really think that there are about this number on most cruises but getting fun thread going really helps! Also it is the first cruise out of dry dock AND it is when the prices go down!:p

Last year we had about 100 on the list although several never made any of the get togethers.

The Palo Brunch last year was a lot of fun! We quickly out grew the private dinning room in Palo so Ave came up with a plan! She got all the names and cabin # from the Dis'ers who wanted to do the Brunch. She then "assigned"one couple from each table to make the reservation. She gave each of the "host" couples a card with the other diners, as well as their cabin #. Once the reservations were made the "host" couple from each table left a message on the voice mail of the others at their table that 1) the reservation had been made 2) what time the reservation was for and 3) the names of the others at the table.
We took over about half of Palo!!!! We found out that making many small (4 tops, and 6 tops) reservations was much easier then making large (8 or 10 top) reservations.
It worked out very well, and everyone had a great time.:bounce:

Sorry Matt we can't help you with the sunset sailing in Key West.

Cathy hope that Art is doing better and getting over his cold.

The Sun came out today, the first time in 17 days!!!! The temperature was 48 today and headed to 60º F tomorrow. Happy happy Joy joy (me doing my Ren and Stimpy dance) Mike

Oh I forgot to tell Alikat welcome home and Dan was the one that left the soap ring in the tub, and didn't put his towel in the dirty clothes hamper. Ave was the one that tossed her beer cans behind the trash cans;) Just kidding welcome home and glad to see that everyone has arrived back in one piece.

Good to see you posting Jean. Mike

Amy...glad you had a good trip to Chicago..should have come to Pennsylvania for snow--we still have plenty--can't wait to meet Emily--she sounds like a a real doll!!

The dog (Precious) has been nicknamed Skunky--Precious doesn't smell too bad but wasn't thrilled about the tomato juice bath--told her it was like being in the spa!! The house doesn't smell too bad until you leave it and come home--then you can really smell it!! I guess when you're in the house, you get used to it.

Did you get a chance to see last week's survivor yet???? The guys certainly weren't thinking with their heads now were they??

It was freezing here today--never reached higher than 18 degrees!! Please send some warm Florida sunshine our way because if I get my hands on the groundhog, he is history!!

RellingTwin--loved the green bean joke!! Haven't been to Charleston in years but I love that city--Savannah is another of my favorites--anyone ever eaten at Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House??

MaryJo, I did see Survivor! The guys were so busy thinking with their "little" brains that they lost!!!Tooo Funny!!!!

I was just telling my DH about you and Doug's family meeting again! Here is my "small world" story....Last year while walking through the lobby of the Radisson, I saw a family checking in who was obviously going on DCL (little girl holding a Minnie Doll) and since I did not know what many of the other DIS'ers looked like I stop to speak with the little girl and asked her if she was going on "Mickey's ship". The Mom looked at me and said..... Ave???? I said no Ave is my twin sister, how do you know her? It turns out she and her family are from Panama City (where Ave lives). She is also a doctor who took care of my mother several times. I told her Ave was on her way to the Radisson and would also be on the cruise. We ran into this family several times during the cruise, and at the Radisson.

I'm was wondering what kind of doggy is Precious? And how much tomato juice did you have to put on her? Poor thing!!!!

Charleston is one of my favorite cities! I have lived in several, but none compare to Charleston. I lived her during huricaine Hugo and had to move due to loss of employment(I was in the hotel industry at the time). I didn't think it would ever be the same again but, happily I was wrong.

Once again it has taken me almost a hour to get caught up. This group is the greatest!:p
Mike, I give you permission to load down my cart with beer. You may finish ahead of us, but we will finish happier!;)
To anyone wondering about Palo's Rellingtwin just about summed it up. Brunch will be on our first day at sea, (Monday), so anyone who wants to do a group brunch keep that in mind. I guess we could start a list of anyone interested. You can e-mail me, PM me, or just resond on this thread. We REALLY did have a great time last year!:D
Matty: Roll-up your windows and hold your nose, I tell you brother that ain't no rose, there's a dead skunk in the middle of the road!!!!!!
Kids, email DD to get on the kids list. Patronis90@aol.com
Bed is calling.
Later, Ave'

Ave puts us down for the Palo's brunch of Monday. Loved it last year. Wish that George and Barbara were going with us again. Oh well I guess it is time to call it a night. Sink full of dishes and stove to clean off. Mike

Ok Ave what brand. Heineken , Bud, or what? I can't drink that much beer because of my medication. One beer with these meds and no driving for me. Cheap drunk:teeth: Mike

Mike, that was my Heineken cans behind the trash cans. Not Ave's. :teeth:

Dan where did they put your teeth after they scraped them?:p I really am not as mean as Rosemary but just couldn't help myself. :o

Glad to hear that Ollie is doing better. How can he get into the food and water bowl with the collar on? Bless his little heart. I hate it when my animals are sick or hurt.

Katie is 9 months old and is still baldheaded in the mouth! I wanted to give her cheerios but Stacey said the doctor said not until she has teeth. Well, she gets zweibac (sp) toast and arrowroot cookies. Why not cheerios? I guess it is too much of a chance of choking on a little piece of cereal. Yes, I am a nurse, yes I raised my 3 without killing them but there is so much I have forgotten. I work with newborns and have forgotten a lot about little ones. :o How embarrassing.:p

Nancy, Bunny is going to London England next Saturday. I am so happy for her. She and her hubby will be gone at least 10 days. Her doctor put her off of work "indefinately":( I am just a little worried about her.

Take care. Kathy with a K (Probably the only "K" huh?)

Good morning to all!
Ave put us down for the Brunch! I can taste all the wonderful cheese NOW!!!YUMMM!:bounce:

Matt..I seem to remember someone posting a trip report about the sunset sail in KW, and if I remember correctly it was a fun sail.

Got to get to work!

Good morning everyone!

thanks for the site, arlene. I saw this in the Disney Magazine, but didn't look it out. It's the ebay site for Disney. What's better than Disney stuff? Disney stuf on sale!

Tina

Amy---- I really enjoyed your heated pool while you were away. What I left behind for you is the huge electric bill you will get next month.

We got back late Sunday night. The good news is that my son's college hockey team won the Championship on Sunday night. The weather was terrible, it rained hard all day Saturday and then Sunday it was snowing and sleeting. We were unable to stay for the Championship Game because it wasn't until 8:30pm and the roads were bad that after his afternoon game we started home. The roads were awful until we got to the PA turnpike, there were accidents everywhere.

We tried to find Puxtanney Phil, but he must have been holed up @ Knob's Hill since the weather was so bad. Nice he comes out to tell you 6 more weeks of winter, and then he can go back into hibernation while the rest of us deal with the horrible weather.

Kathy--- Since Bunny is leaving for London, it must mean all her treatments are completed. I did email her twice, but she never got back to me. I hope that she enjoys her trip. That is concerning about her being off of work "indefinately." For you, just think of all the extra money you will have to spend on the cruise.

I have read all 17 pages that I had to get caught up with. I didn't take notes so am not able to respond to all the conversations on the board. Welcome back to everyone who was traveling this past weekend. Also, welcome to all the new people. I am having trouble connecting to AOL @ home lately, so when I try to post at home alot of times AOL kicks me off before I can post it. So many lurking @ nighttime.

Ave--- Put Norm and me down for Brunch.

Dan--- What is the deal with the dinner reservations?

Later,
Nancy
