Ollie is back home and again and has to wear an e-collar now. One of those cone shaped things secured around the neck and opening up like a trumpet over the face. It takes away his peripheral vision. He keeps walking backwards to try and get it off. He hasn't learned to pick his head up high enough cuz when he walks on the carpet it hits it and then he stops. If it hits the chair, or a wall, or anything, he stops. And just stands there. If it wasn't so pathetic, it would be funny. Richard's niece said he will get used to it shortly. I don't know, I've said it before, Ollie was never considered one of our brighter animals.....

Yes we went to Six Flags last year. It is really nice, really big now. They have tons of roller coasters, they built 6 the first year. It is not as nice as WDW what what do you expect. The old Sea World looked to be suffering a little, not many people there and the shows were like only 3-4 per day. I remember when Sea World pack people in daily and the shows were about every hour or so and was always packed. Last year was the 2nd year for the combined parks and they only got a killer whale last summer.

A funny story about our old penguins. They were just recently sent to the SanDiego Sea World and for some reason they trained all the other penguins to walk in a group around the pool, Sea World was not sure what was going on, they had never seen it before. So they drained the pool, and so the penguins then just walked on the bottom of the pool in circles. Us Ohioians are crazy!

Dan

Strange, I would have thought that Ohio-Penguins ride in an electric cart :jester:

I just looked at the post numbers and thought I'd share a little funny with you guys!

Viking, Papa, Tulirose and me combined have more than half of the posts to this thread! LOL

And to think that Rosemary and I were afraid that we would be shy toward each other when meeting on the ship in 2001.

Dan

Yes, but Papa's, Tulirose's and Viking's posts usually consist of more than one line ;)

We hope that Ollie will be better soon.
Perhaps if you place him outside heading due south he may be able to receive some TV-satellites. ;)
Roland's and Sabine's dog had to wear such a collar for some time and she got used to it quickly. As cats are considered to be brighter than dogs, ollie should be comfy with it soon.

Rosemary and Rich,
what do you think about the plans for the new building at the WTC-site?
I think it shows great courage and pride to erect an even higher building - That's the true spirit!!! I really didn't like the plans with smaller buildings. It sounded like giving in to the threat.

Boothwyn is near Philly in Delaware county. Actually about halfway between Philly and downtown Wilmington, DE

Yea speaking of the new WTC designs I liked the other onw better. Oh well who asked me!

Great to hear Ollie is at home!

Dan

I'll have to find my Falling Water stuff. I know that it is a .org I think it is part of the state park system or nature conservancy.

Get better Olie! Hopkins sends his regards. That's our little Norwich Terrier. He's lovable, but change something in his schedule and look out. Can't deal with it. He hated his e-collar and when he had his knee surgey it took him a while to try to walk again. Lots of love and encouragement. My little doggie doesn't deal with change well. Sorry Hopkins, if it isn't about food, he's not that bright.

I like the new design for the the World Trade Center site. The idea of it being the worlds tallest building and taller than what was knocked down. I also like the other plan with the frame of the World Trade Center with memorial on top, but it didn't win.

Tina :)

LOLOLOLOL! GOTCHA DAN!!!! So true Eric, so very true!!!

Our original dog, Charcoal, and our original guinea pig, Bullet, BOTH had to wear e-collars at around the same time too. Now THAT was funny. But both of them got used to it REAL QUICK. This cat is not understanding at all....

I always wanted to see that Falling River something or other house too. But that's too far for us. Did you guys know that there is already a big DIS meet scheduled in Ohio for early August at that Cedar Park place? It consists mostly of people from the Community Board but they welcome ALL DIS'ers.

Dearest Viking and Rosemary,

This is not gang up on Dan day. That is scheduled for the second Tuesday of next week!

Please schedule it accordingly.

Dan

World Trade Center design picked -- I HATE it!

Out of the two, I preferred the THINK one which is the one Hopkins referred to. At least it sort of mimicked the original Trade Center.

And what you see now of the design picked is going to be changed, so who knows what it will finally end up looking like. I hate the concept of leaving a big hole in the ground too!

Personally, I want the original design for the Trade Center back. But that will never ever happen.

These are just my feelings and I know they do not echo the sentiments of other New Yorkers.

Gee Dan- I have it on my calendar for today! And look, it's there for tomorrow too!!! :D

Rosemary,

Are you coming to the Cedar POINT meet? Maybe you could ride the new Dragster rooler coaster with me. It's only 420 feet tall, making it the worlds tallest! Then we can do the Milleninum Forse which is only 310 feet tall! Scott don't like riding coasters, so you can do it with me dear.

Dan

What happened to my signature, it looks more like a Tag-Witch has done her evil deeds than a Tag-Fairy!! :jester:

What was not compliant?

Eric,

We tried to teach the penguins how to drive the electric carts, but we found out that they were a little too short for the feat! We were working on penguin accessible electirc carts or PAEC but they left us too soon.

Dan

Unfortunately, no. We are not attending the Cedar Point meet. But if we did, I would be browsing the shops with Scott and you would have to go on those crazy rides all by your lonesome! I've seen pictures of that rickety old wooden roller coaster. 310 feet tall!!! No way Jose!

Hey, anyone know how tall the Tower of Terror is??? That and Splash Mountain is about as wild as I get! hahahaha!

OMG!!!! ROTFLMBO!!!!!!!!!! THAT IS JUST TOO FUNNY!!!!!!!! You got zapped by the tag fairy!!! HAHAHAHAHHA!!!!

Rosemary,

The 310 feet tall coaster (Millenium Force) is a steel coaster, not sure what you saw pictures of, maybe the Gemini.

The structure of Tower of Terror is 199 feet tall. Not sure how high the elevator shafts go up though.
