Are these tee shirts from last year or going to be made for this year? We could add something about a scavenger hunt in Key West.

Tina,

@goofynut did an iron on transfer for everyone last year. The year before that we bought them from online.

Dan

Just got back from paying off our cruise for September, only owe around $200 (after Missy pays me back the $250 I put on her cruise) Then we will book January.

Dan

Hey DAN, we're not the "over the hill bunch" .... we're the SUPER SENIORS :bounce: and if you have a problem with us, we'll just bop you with our canes! (Just Kidding)

Mary ... Love the idea of ScavengerEARS for a name.

Tina ... last year for the DIS Cruisears I did up iron-on with a logo for us and we all did up our own shirts. Would be willing to do the same again this year for CRUISETOBERFEST and another for "ScavengerEAR Hunt".

:Pinkbounc Should we be picking a T-shirt color for the "hunt"?

Check back later......

I just love the name for the shirts as "ScavengEar Hunt"!!! How about the color "pink" for the scavenger hunts pink flamingo mascot which we are suppose to be hunting for.

People may object to pink (personally I like it), but we could pick the DIS lime green.

Tina :bounce:

Cathy,

You are too good to us! You are like Martha Stewart, well without all the money and the insider trading! LOL

Dan

Hi Tina..

Was waiting to speak with youngest son...They live in Miami and are meeting us in Key West for the day....SO.....Now I can say,YES !,Kim & I would love to do hunt...Joseph & Jada will join us too...

Cathy,if you need a hand with shirts, let Kim know.....

Kim & Bette :p :p

Some new information that I forgot to mention. The Scavenger Hunt people thought that if our group wanted to dress all in the same tee shirt or the same colors for the hunt that might be neat. What do you all think?

As for the payment, there is no need to do anything until July. We'll send our checks directly to them.

We are scheduled for the hunt from 1PM to 4PM, so there will be plenty of time to do other things in Key West. To revisit some of the sights, shopping, Mallory Square and the sunset.

We added four people to our pre-registration list. Welcome Aboard!

*Cost?
It's $20/person for 3 hours. Prepayment by check is required three months prior to excursion (July). They don't take credit cards. If we miss Key West, the checks will be refunded. I'll provide an address and more info on this in July so we can mail our checks to them.

*Place and time?
We are going to meet on Sunday, October 12th, 2003 at 1PM in front of the stairs to the Hilton Hotel Lobby. It's to the right of the right brick building (Custom House) as you leave the ship. The Magic usually docks in front of the Hilton Hotel.

*Electric Cart?
If one needs an electric cart, the scavenger hunt people can point you in the right direction to rent one. If they rent it prior, you will be charged for the hour that it's sitting idle with them. Inaddition, you must fill out the paperwork. The electric cart place is one and a half blocks down Greene Street. The Hilton is on Greene Street, so this is about a 2 minute walk. Two electric cart places they use are Key West Cruisers @ (305)294-4724 http://keywest.com/keywestcruisers/ on Truman Ave at Truman and Duval and Reef Mobile (formerly Randal J Scooters) @ (305) 296-0208 www.reefmobile.com on Greene Street (near Sloppy Joes Bar on Duval). The Reef Mobile Electric Carts are themed, but have changed management and are going to be themed according to "reefs", like shark, manatee, dolphin, baracouda or octopus in a reef theme instead of the polka-dotted one on the hunt website. Call these companies to make reservations if you require an electric cart.

*Sites?
Southermost Point, Hemmingways House, Shipwreck, Cigar Place, Shrimp Dock and off the wall places you might not normally have known about. The normal Key West sites plus some interesting wacky ones, too.

*Hunting for objects?
In addition to searching for the sites and answering the clues (all for points that are counted at the end for prizes), there is an object named "PINKY". He is their mascot and if you find him, he is worth an extra 50 points. People in Key West know of Pinky the Flamingo. He's famous. As our award winning scavenger hunt is, too. At the end of the hunt, people gather at the "mystery location" for the awards ceremony where all the points are tallied.

That's it for now. They will be checking in on us to give our group more information, so they will be posting shortly and I will also. If more people want to join the group, just reply to this thread. If I missed someone, sorry. Just remind me, and I'll add you.

Tina

OK ... now all I have to do is find a Pink Flamingo with Mickey Ears as our logo clipart. Gonna hit the drawing board tonite ... I'll let you know how I make out. How about yellow for the shirts with pink logo? That is for the "ScavengEAR Hunt"

:Pinkbounc Hey all this chatter is at least easing up on the d***ed winder blues! (Couldn't resist the pink bouncy!)

Cathy,

Winder blues? Hmmm around here we call it winter blues. But we know PA and Germany have there own languages!

Dan

And here we call it "THEIR own languages", wisecrack :p
BTW in German it would be "Winterdepression", but Winter Blues would also be understood by many people.
And finally I've got one little question: How do you think you can run over the Human Flash, the German Blitz, the Rapid Ranger - I could continue this list eternally :jester:

I like it! Yellow tee shirts with a pink flamingo and black mickey ears. What color writing? Are we all going to iron them on-board the ship or do you send us the transfers to our homes?

What a great group!
Tina
PS: I already thought about what I'm bringing for everyone.

Ok Dan . . . in defense of all of our Pennsylvania people on this thread, we don't talk in our own language (then again, maybe we do!) anyway, be careful, we are the next state over and know where you live!!

BTW, I could bring pizza from the pizza capital of the world (or at least we locals think so!)--Old Forge, PA (I live in the town right next to it) and USA Today did an article on the best pizza and Old Forge pizza was included! Don't know if I would get through airport security though!

My boss is off today so I am having an "inhouse vacation day!" and enjoying it immensly! Mary Jo

Mary Jo,

I thought you were in the Piergorie (sp) Capital of the world. Along with being the Polka capital. I never realized Pizza was the main attraction in NE PA.

Now I'm done here in PA Dutch Country, so I do speak funny @ times. Like rutch over, outen the lights.

I think the yellow shirt with pink flamago will go over better with the men for the ScavengEAR Hunt

What color shirt are we doing for the CRUISETOBERFEST shirts?

Check back later.

Nancy
