Yes, the brunch is planned for Monday. This is what we did last year. Then there is no one worrying about getting ashore in time for an excusion. If any of you new comers to this thread are thinking about joining us, just let me know. There are currently 40 people signed up. So one way or another we will be taking over Palo's on Monday.
Hope, What "beach" are you going to? School starts here for my two kids on Aug. 7th also. My DS will start kindergarten. He will be 6 y/o in Sept. so he is Really ready! And I'm ready to save on the daycare bill.
Going to see Terminator 3 tonight. Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Ave.....we are going to Orange Beach, Alabama.....it is next to Gulf Shores.

My dd's will be in 4th & 2nd! In a way I am ready, but I don't want to go back to work. I work on their schedule. It has been a great summer, sleeping late. I am going to pay for it when I have to get up at an ungodly hour to get the kids and myself ready.

I probaby got the Brunch day (Sunday) confused. I can't seem to remember anything since I turned 40

DH and I went on a "date " tonight! The kids had a "lock in" (a sleep over at their day camp) so we were "kidless" for the night. We went out to dinner at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co, YUM, then went to a night club called "Shadey Mae's" which DH built. He has not been back since he compleated the job. Lots of folks who work there stoped us to say what a nice job he did, then they would not let us pay for any drinks!
)Always nice when that happens!!!)

All in all a very nice night out with my sweetheart

T-3 was very good IMHO. Loved that the bad guy was a "girl". I don't normaly like that crash and burn stuff, but I really loved the first chase scene.

I couldn't find time for an update yesterday, because I had to meet Rhonda & Peter, my relatives from Down Under. We had a lot of fun. They're both about 60, but have the same dirty and mean sense of humour I'm known for
This afternoon I'll talk to Silentshot on the phone and then we'll arrange our mini-meet.
Yesterday I booked Captain Marvin's Sting Ray Tour for Anja's BD.
I hope to be able to do an update tonight - Right now the sun is shining at 85 - 90ºF and I'm in the office, doing aeronautical charts of an Iraqi airport

Ave......I really hate to tell you this.......I was in Panama City Beach in June. I guess I didn't realize you were there. We went camping at Pineglen Campgrounds. My SIL was staying at a dumping hotel on the strip. We were there for four days

Orange Beach is about 2 hours, I guess. Not really sure!

This afternoon I talked to Silentshot and we will meet next weekend

Over here the stores already started their end-of-summer-sales and Anja & I found some really good deals today. But the end of summer seems to be so far away: We still have temps in the 90ies and blue skies.
Negative side-effect of this wonderful summer: Perhaps some of you remember the terrible floods we had last year. The city of Dresden nearly drowned 11 months ago. Now they have to face a drought. The river is so low, that the cargo-ships already stopped cruising and only some sport boats and sightseeing ships are still able to float. The flood stood at about 9 meters (30 feet), now they are at .6 meters (2 feet).

gotta run now: "Sugerland Express" is on TV tonight - A 70ies movie by Spielberg, starring Goldie Hawn.

I will be sending a check to the scavenger hunt people in mid-August for Eric and Anja since they are in Germany. Mary...RellingTwin...sending pixie dust so that maybe you will be able to join us in Baltimore.....Twin Ave....glad to see that you are posting again now that your computer is up and running...we have our internet through our cable company (cable modem) and for the past day and half, we have had no internet service...we had some thunder storms go through on Friday night so I don't know if that knocked us off or not?? Sarah doesn't go back to school until after Labor Day (I think 9-8-03) but then we are one of the last schools to get out in our area (this year we didn't get out of school until 6-13-03). Had Joint Commission at our hospital all of last week and we passed with flying colors (91%) but our department didn't have one deficiency so my boss was extremely happy...too bad that doesn't translate to $$$$!!!. Bathroom remodel continues. We bought the sink, and new light fixture today. DH thinks he will be finished with it by next weekend.

I went to the electic car site today to reserve our car in KW but there is a problem with the site. When the reservation was almost compleat it showed me reserving a 1/2 FISHING trip!!!! For $400.!!!!!I think I'll just call them tomorrow!

We are here but have been busy. Had to go pick up DS again this weekend. Boy that drive is long. Will be driving him and friends back again tonight so will be tired tomorrow morning.

Weather here has been ok although it has rained a fair bit although mostly at night.

The rest of July and August are turning into really busy months at work so haven't thought about getting ready for the cruise yet but am noticing a lot of end of season sales already -- it always amazes me that everything is on sale half way through the season. Will have to get out and look.

Chris doesn't go back to school til Sept 2nd -- he wouldn't be too happy going back at the beginning of August since he just finished June 25th.

Must go and finish up laundry before we get into the car for another 7 hour odessy.
