Amy:

Have a very Mickey Birthday. What could be better than going to Disney for your birthday.

Enjoy your trip...

Arlene

We need to send lots of pixie dust to Cathy's computer at work (GoofyNut)...her entire computer system is down and she has a desk full of work which can't be done without the computer...sometimes I wonder about technology!! We need the darn computer for just about everything!! We email each other (Cathy and I) several times back and forth and this morning she actually had to call me on the phone!!! She can't even access our boards and that is really a disaster!! Have a great day...it is pouring rain here but supposed to be a nice weekend! Mary Jo

Just thought I would let you know, while you are at you mini meet in Baltimore.....I'll be shopping at a Disney Catalog Outlet in Floey, Alabama. Do I need to look for anything for anyone??

We are taking a quick trip to the beach July 31 - August 4. The kids start back to school on August 7. We want to get away and relax before we start school! One good thing about school starting so early is.....October will be here before I know it!!

Pixie Dust to Cathy........I couldn't take it if my computer went down.

Eric......my dad had me forward a picture of them. I told him to shrink it.......he doesn't listen to his daughter.....I hope it isn't too big!!

Oh, I meet someone on another thread that will be traveling with us. She started reading this thread and was totally lost. I think we scared her away. I told her to pop in and say "HI". I told her that everyone here was REALLY nice! :p

I've pulled out all my things for the cruise this morning. I better go put them back before my DH gets home, he'll think I'm nuts!!

:Pinkbounc Hope

Graff from the Southermost Scavenger Hunt said that we should send our checks in mid-August, so at the 60 day mark. No need to worry just yet.

I'll send out an e-mail at the 60 day mark to remind everyone.

Tina :)

*Cost?
It's $20/person for 3 hours. Kids 10 years and under are FREE. Prepayment by check is required at the 60 day mark prior to excursion (mid-Aug). They don't take credit cards. If you are from outside the US, US Money Orders are accepted or if you have a US dollar account from a foreign bank you can draw a check on that. We will be sending our checks AND a self-addressed stamped envelope (so the checks can be returned if we miss Key West) to the following address:
The Southernmost Scavenger Hunt
3301 Pearl Ave
Key West, FL 33040
DO NOT SEND CHECKS, YET!

*Place and time?
We are going to meet on Sunday, October 12th, 2003 at 1PM in front of the stairs to the Hilton Hotel Lobby. It's to the right of the red brick building (Custom House) as you leave the ship. The Magic usually docks in front of the Hilton Hotel. The hunt lasts from 1 PM to 4 PM. Remember to wear your ScavengEar t-shirts designed by @GoofyNut.

*Electric Cart?
If one needs an electric cart, the scavenger hunt people can point you in the right direction to rent one. The two electric cart places they use are Key West Cruisers @ (305)294-4724 http://keywest.com/keywestcruisers/ on Truman Ave at Truman and Duval and Reef Mobile (formerly Randal J Scooters) @ (305) 296-0208 www.reefmobile.com on Greene Street (near Sloppy Joes Bar on Duval). The Reef Mobile Electric Carts are themed, but have changed management and are going to be themed according to "reefs", like shark, manatee, dolphin, baracouda or octopus in a reef theme instead of the polka-dotted one on the hunt website. Call these companies to make reservations if you require an electric cart. An electric cart isn't necessary to experience this tour.

*Sites?
Southermost Point, Hemmingways House, Shipwreck, Cigar Place, Shrimp Dock and off the wall places you might not normally have known about. The normal Key West sites plus some interesting wacky ones, too. Learn about interesting facts and trivia of these landmarks and sites.

*Hunting for objects?
In addition to searching for the sites and answering the clues (all for points are counted at the end for prizes), there is an object named "PINKY". He is their mascot and if you find him, he is worth an extra 50 points. People in Key West know of Pinky the Flamingo. He's famous. As our award winning scavenger hunt is, too.

Since we are the ScavengEar hunt, our hunt has to have a pair of Mickey Ears, too. The back is sewn with the words "Pinky". At the end of the hunt, people gather at the "mystery location" for the awards ceremony where all the points are tallied and stories of our hunt are told.

That's it for now. They will be checking in on us to give our group more information, so they will be posting shortly and I will also. If more people want to join the group, just reply to this thread. If I missed someone, sorry. Just remind me, and I'll add you.

Tina

Cathy,

Can you bring the t-shirt design to the Baltimore meet? I'd love to see what you've come up with. Graff was asking what's been going on with the t-shirts.

Thanks, kiddo!
Tina :)

MAybe I'm just a figment.

Nancy (PaDisneyFan) - Congratulations on being nominated for the "Nightingale Award of Pa". What an honor that is!

Mary - Thanks for the info regarding the Dreams Unlimited gift situation. I should find that thread and check it out but since I know I won't do that (at least not for a while yet), could you please tell me whether or not they will still be giving gifts. Sounds kinda weird - DCL changing they way gifts will be given out. Would this involve everything not ordered through DCL, like Shirley's stuff, or just travel agency things. Doesn't seem right to me....

Silentshot - Please give Gaby my official welcome too now that I read the thread over better and realize she is with you. And congratulations to her for her recovery and to you for the support I am certain you gave her throughout the ordeal.
Posted by silentshot: Silentshot Is a ref to what my friends Call me when I play UT2003, Quake, DAOC and sooooo on (I can see where your mind is ;) )
Please know that I only recognized Quake so I assume you are talking about all computer games. Yes, my mind goes everywhere except where it is suppose to be at times. Please know also, that I am much more verbal with the written word than in real life and I would die first rather than insinuate something like that in person; unless I knew you really really well. ;)

Posted by Viking: Then there will be a mini-meet in the Frankfurt-area and everybody is welcome. Free drinks for everyone from the States - You just have to buy your tickets
Now, Silentshot, you realize why I asked if you were near Frankfurt. It is a small world. Hope you guys get to meet soon. Have fun!

Oh, yes - Count me as another one who thought the brunch ws on Monday, sea day. Wishing TwinAve best wishes with her computer repair. I betya SHE knew it was on Monday (Believe me, I know twins and I know that one twin will always mix things up. I guess in this case, it is MARY!!!!)

Be that as it may.... Mary!, praying for a miracle for you to join us in Baltimore!

I agree but just the same, glad to see you posting.

Even if it is bit overwhelming. posting is the ONLY WAY we will remember you. So please, like RellingTwin said, any lurkers, start posting if you want to be more than just an observer to this group.

It can be intimidating to jump right in when a thread has been running as long as this has, but please try. It adds to the excitement and anticipation of the cruise and, like I've said at other times, we are not going to be each others best buddy on the ship - everyone has their own idea of "the perfect vacation" - but it makes is just little bit more enjoyable when you sorta "know" the people you see onboard. JMHO

I remember hooting and hollering for SideShowBob and the Mrs. when they were in the couples game one evening. And I remember hearing people rooting for me when I was in WWTBAM, and the only one I really "knew" in the audience was my DH but I had a whole family yelling my name and encouraging me. It was great!

So, all lurkers, please join in now even just to say hi. We would love to hear from you!

Happy Birthday Alikat! Have fun in WDW!

What's this with all the computer problems? First Ave and now Goofynut? Pixie dust to both.

Yes, we are still planning to be at the Baltimore meet. Been real busy lately.

I LOVE that song! I loved Figment too. Did they ever bring him back?? Glad to hear you are going to the meet. Don't work too hard.

We are thinking of staying overnight on Friday. Not definite yet. Jessup, however, is too far for us (wish it weren't papa). Gonna check the area northeast of Baltimore. If anyone knows of any place good, let me know. Thanks

Figment is back! It's not the same as before but it is alot better than the interim show. THey do the 5 five senses - even smell! And it ain't roses.

Thanks Tina. Twenty minutes doesn't seem like much but what I meant by too far is that Jessup is on the other side of Baltimore from us, going to DC. We would want some place that we can stop at just short of us arriving to Baltimore without having to go through it. If we do this, I will be picking Rich up in Manhattan on Friday after work and we won't want to travel anymore than necessary that evening.
