We are flying down Thursday AM and will be staying at the Airport Hyatt. We are also planning on going to the Halloween event Friday night at the Magic Kingdom, then back to the airport for the night and then to the port Saturday AM.

Hope,

The MK is only about an hour from the port. I think you would be fine if you left by 8:30-9:00 if you want to be at the port early. Yes, the big rides are all open. Good luck breaking the news! I still think you should stay on Disney property to save driving. Plus, it really gets you in the Disney mood!

Have fun planning!

Kate

No need to send money for the scavenger hunt, yet. I'lll let you know. Maybe by the 60 day mark.

I see some new faces. ?Do you want to do a scavenger hunt in Key WEst? Check out they website www.keywesthunt.com . e-mail me at: knophop@comcast.net if interested (just the new people and I'll add you).

Thanks!

Glad the new jobs are going well for everyone. They are always an adventure!!

We are thinking of going to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal’s Islands of Adventure on 10-10-2003. I attended it several years ago and it was a blast! We were at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in 2001 and were very disappointed. Maybe it had to do with post 9-11 issues.

Hi everyone. This is our first post for the 10/11 cruise--we made our reservations yesterday and found your thread tonight. We went on the Inaugural Western Caribbean cruise in May, 2002. This time it will be me (Marty), wife Stephanie and 2-year-old daughter Mollie. We're also bringing along my parents and my 14-year-old brother. This will be their first cruise. Wow, I just realized Mollie is averaging one Disney Cruise for each year of her life (this is her second)! I'm glad we found you guys--the Disboards were so helpful as we planned our first Disney Cruise and we had fun meeting all our online friends when we finally got to Port Canaveral (we all had matching lime green shirts to make it easy to spot everyone). We look forward to getting to know everyone both before and during our cruise!

Welcome Marty and family! Glad to have you with us. There are over 40 families joining us. It's going to be a Fantastic cruise. Viking (aka Eric) has compiled a list of all of us. If you send him your info, he will add you and send you a copy. We also have some fun meeting planned. I think if you read the last 8-10 pages of this thread you will get a lot of information.

WELCOME ABOARD!!! :D

This is the 1st I've heard about the Halloween Horror Nights at IOA. Can you give me any info re this.

Thanks

Arlene

Matty204........what is it like at the Horror night? Is it scary for kids? I have two dd's 9 & 7. The youngest has nightmares easily. Should I avoid it and stick to the MK's not so scary party?

I told my dh last night about my idea about going to the magic kingdom on Friday. He didn't say NO, that means if I can save enough money he'll go!!! :) YIPEE!!

Hope

Welcome Marty and family. Haven't been able to get to the Boards for the past couple of days and have been going through withdrawal. Am also waiting for the new Harry Potter so that helped reading up on the rumours about it.

We are staying for a week after the cruise at CBR. We got a great cdn at par rate so we decided to stay for the entire week. We will probably be going to the MNSSHP on the 19th -- a lot of Cdns will be at WDW in October because of the great rates.

Must go and get some work done. :(

Hooray! I'm finally able to get onto the boards. I wasn't able to access the site since Monday and it was driving me nuts. My sister in Buffalo and cousin in PA could get in, but my mom in Florida, and dd and myself in Ohio couldn't get in.

Welcome to Marty & family! So glad you're joining us!

Cathy-- I'm still cracking up over Josh puzzling the kitchen staff with his peas at dinner. He said he thought they were edamame (sp) and that's why he took them out of the pods. Left the pods on his napkin and the peas on his plate. Everyone in the kitchen wanted to know when they got those kind of peas when his plate went back to the kitchen.

Oh, and I had a piece of his gum... it tasted fine to me! :p

Mary-- Yes, Josh likes to fish when he's in the mood for it, but gets bored with it fast if they're not biting. He loved fishing at Salt Fork in April because they were practically jumping out of the lake onto his hook, one right after the other.

Funny story--- When Josh was about 3 or 4, Don took him fishing at the small lake near our house. He rolled up little pieces of bread for Josh to use as bait. Josh was so excited... talking to people walking by, telling them "I'm fishing... I'm catching bread!" He also thought it was a neat idea at that age to toss some bait into the water and then try to hit the fish with the end of his pole when they came in for it. Don put a stop to that one quick! :jester:

Better run... Becca will be here soon for a few hours. Oh, she looks so cute and grown up with her Disney haircut! They have some great video of her haircut and of her with Pooh and Tigger. They actually held her and Tigger played peekaboo with her.

Take care. Hope you all are having nicer weather than we are here... rain again.

Colleen

Hi Folks,

this is the Mile-High-City calling. I arrived safely at Denver on Monday. The colleagues here are very nice to us and we already learned a lot. The new job will be very demanding, but also extremely interesting.
Denver is really nice, we already went Downtown, visited a wonderful Mall and did some shopping. My new camera arrived in time and really is great.
Saturday we will hike into the mountains with our boss.

Marty & Family,
welcome to our jolly bunch of cruisers. I'm in Denver/CO ight now on a business trip. As soon as I have returned to Germany I will do an update of the List. This will be during the Independence Day weekend. Just send me your info as RellingTwin suggested (Thanks, Mary). You may use the Cruisetoberfest-link provided in my signature. Sorry for the delay, but I only have internet-access at the office for the time being and I won't find time for an update here.

Have a great one, I'll get back in touch with Y'All very soon

Eric

Hello Eric and welcome to the USA. Don't eat too much and try to exercise in the thin mountain air.

I emailed out some pictures of the catfish that Kathy and I visited in downtown Nashville today. Mike

Hello and welcome Marty and your family. Finally, a family with another young one. Chris and I have a daughter, Emily, who will have just turned 2 the week before the cruise. (We actually wanted to celebrate her birthday on the cruise, but since it's going to be in dry dock, we'll just have to celebrate it a week late.) Anyway, maybe your Mollie and our Emily will enjoy having someone to play with that's their age.

Also, did you use Flounder's nursery when you went on your first cruise? We were just wondering how they were.

Well, welcome to our group.

Welcome Stephanie and Marty - from Kentucky!! How neat is that!

Papa the fishies turned out just great! Thanks for sending the photos!

Arlene - I know you are leaving shortly for a trip. I intended to email you with my home number so we can get together some time soon but I never got around to it. Hopefully, I will get it to you by the time you return and we can make some sort of arrangement.

Glad the get together with Goofynut, Scootersmom and Sarahsmom went well.

Also had DIS withdrawal earlier this week. Today is the first day I could get back in the regular way. Someone had sent me a link to sneak in a backdoor way but I couldn't get to the cruise board - just the Community and Flower/Garden boards.

Hope everyone is not getting all moldy and mildew with this weather. Will we ever see the sun again???!!

Eric - Glad your arrival in Denver was safe and sound and glad you can pop in on thread. Not the same without ya.

Not the same without all of you guys! I love reading your posts! Can't wait to meet!

Hiya Dan Honey!! Keep smiling!

Rosemary - I was in the same boat. I couldn't get on all week. I had no idea that others were able to get into the boards. I just assumed that everyone was having the same problems. Oh well, I'm here now.

I feel like I've been so out of the loop on this board anyway. With everything that's been going on with us, I can't even keep myself straight.

Well, Emily is getting so talkative lately. She's been learning new words each and every day. And, she's really starting to have her favs on TV. It used to be the Wiggles, but now she really loves Dora the Explorer. She actually cried the other night when I tried to explain that Dora wasn't on TV at that moment.

Chris agreed to let us spend my birthday at WDW. So, we're going to spend the weekend of July 18th - 20th at the Wilderness Lodge. We were able to get a rate of $114/night for Florida residents. I can't wait!! So, if anyone wants/needs/desires anything from WDW, let me know.

So, how is everyone else doing??????

Hey Eric - welcome back to the USA!!! Are you enjoying Colorado? Chris and I only spent one evening in Denver, but the whole area is beautiful!!! When are you going to Colorado Springs? You'll have a wonderful time. We have to upload our pics from the camera and get them out on the web sometime soon.

:bounce: Ohio cruisers!! :Pinkbounc

I think there was some interest in a mini DISmeet of Ohio cruisers from our group, possibly at the state fair or the Columbus zoo. We'd love to get together with anyone that lives close enough for either of those locations.

The state fair runs from Aug. 1 through Aug. 17th. We're planning on being at the fair on either Saturday the 2nd or Saturday the 16th and then at the zoo on either Sunday the 3rd or Sunday the 17th. The middle weekend of the fair isn't good for us because Josh has Cub Scout camp. Whichever weekend we go, we'll probably drive down on Friday night and head for home on Sunday afternoon.

If any of these dates is good, let me know and we can make some plans.

Our daughter and her family want to come with us that weekend, so the sooner I know which dates are good for everyone else, the better. Would also like to make our room reservations and buy fair tickets ahead of time to get the lower prices.

So, jump in and let me know what dates are good for anyone else that's interested in doing this.

Take care.

Colleen
