hygiene...aka Peter and Jen....how far are you guys from Killington Vermont?? Bettemom and Kim and the three of us are going to meet somewhere in New England while I am on vacation in Vermont (I think August 15th through August 22nd). We are willing to travel to a location where anyone wants to meet so just let us know.

While we were in Branson, Missouri, we put over 2500 miles on our rental car driving to St. Louis and Kansas City....we actually went to the arch in St. Louis and did a cruise up the Mississippi and then went to Harry Truman's house and his presidential museum in Independence Missouri (near Kansas City)--you can actually be in four states in one day on the drive there...travel I-44 into Joplin Missouri, cross over the border into Oklahoma, travel north through Kansas and back into Missouri and then right above Kansas City (near St. Joseph) is Nebraska.

While in Nashville, we didn't travel quite so much just to Memphis and Chattanogga (sp??).

Oh well, back to work tomorrow and back to reality....Joint Commission arrives at the hospital tomorrow for the week and I'm sure after being gone for two weeks, I won't even see my desk!! Have to pay for the travel somehow!!! Mary Jo

Mary Jo we loved meeting you, Sam and Sarah. Please bring Sarah along with you to Baltimore. She is fun to be around and we enjoyed meeting your family. Nice folks and a blast to be around. Sorry that we were not able to spend more time with you, but we also have to pay for the upcoming trips. Katie had a good time and she tried hard to keep Sarah entertained at the **** of the Walk restaurant.

Looking forward to meeting everyone in Baltimore on the 2nd of August. Cathy @ C we made our reservations at the red roof in Jessup. Hope that you and Art are able to come down Friday night.

Catch everyone later, and Eric don't work too hard.

Mike

Ave,
you should be more afraid of my underwater camera and the AFTER-cruise homepage :teeth: :jester: :p
Cozumel, here we come!!!

Unfortunately, Eric, I do remember what it was like getting closer to 40 and sad to say, I did go off the deep end for approximately six months prior to my birthday. However, when the big day finally arrived, it was the greatest day and I had no problems with it since then.

Now as the next milestone approaches, I tend to get a bit depressed when thinking about it.....

Rich on the other hand, nothing fazes him. His favorite saying about getting older is: "It's better than the alternative!"

Rosemary,
after our class of '83 reunion I am fine: So many of the people there looked far older than me, that I don't care about becoming 40 anymore.
I definitely like Rich's approach to the topic. And finally: As I will be a the Magic Kindom on my 40th BD, it won't count anyway ;)

:Pinkbounc Amy ... Happy Birthday a little early. Have a great time at MickeyLand!

Eric ... Did you get my E-mail for review?

I'm trying to talk SueEllen ... one of the DIS moderators into joining us. Give her a nudge.

Just guessing ... BUT is the attire for the Baltimore Meet, something DISNEY?

Well back at work and like MaryJo ... where the heck is my desk?

That is exactly why the majority of my friends are younger than I am . . not just looks but the fitness level as you often mention. I am on "the wrong side" of 50, but can do the parks all day and night and never tire. Yet I see many 30-somethings who look exhausted after just a few hours. They are old before their time. One 50+ DISer who is a GREAT example of staying youthful in attitude is Otimon. She works at Test Track (her DH and DD also work for Disney). Yesterday we rode Mission Space together (2nd time for both of us) and enjoyed it IMMENSELY. Yet looking around, the majority of the guests appeared to be half our age or less. I think a lot people lose the spirit of adventure (if they were ever fortunate enough to have it!) as they age. I can't imagine that ever happening to you, Eric! :jester:

Just Kidding Ave. Glad that the party went well for you.

Don't work too hard Cathy and Mary Jo, we need you well rested for the August 2nd meet. Rosemary, as we say down south, well at least the ground hog isn't delivering my mail. Which means that they have not planted me in the ground yet.

Isn't Maryland supposedly famous for it's crab cakes or something??

Just booked our Baltimore cruise and paid for the tickets for the three of us so count us in!! Has anyone heard from Windermere or ARL01 or Cheese Please as to whether they have decided to join us? The more the merrier...we are up to 15 already!! We will drive down after work on Friday and can't wait to meet y'all (couldn't resist since we've just spent two weeks in the South!!)--I think that we will have a blast.

hygiene99...don't have your email address (maybe it is on the cruiselist) but are you interested in meeting up somewhere in New England...we will be in Killington, VT from 8/15 through 8/22 and we are going to meet up with Bettemom and Kim on 8/20--how far are you from either Killington or New Hampshire and maybe we could pick a place that we all had to drive to but wouldn't be too far for any of us!! Email me and let me know since I have no idea where you live in MA!! Mary Jo

Folks,

I placed some more pics on our homepage - Check it out.
I hope this answers your question, Cathy ;)

Shari,
we also look forward to Mission Space. It should be officially open when we arrive at WDW on 10/02/03.

Eric -

The pictures look great!!! I'm am really getting excited now to meet everyone!!

Come on everyone else that hasn't sent in their pictures, jump on in with both feet. I would love to be able to put some more faces with names!!

Tulirose standing on chair, applauding and whooping it up for a great job done by Viking!!!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!

I love the webpage. It is fantastic. More pictures, more people, PLEASE!!!

Hey Windy!!! Nice to know you are really not a figment of our imagination. What a great looking couple you and hubby make!

And Mary and Ave! I thought at first glance that Eric put in Mary's second picture but didn't remove the first. I can see it now, we will be doing double takes throughout this cruise.

My favorite Ohio people have their names out of order. It should read: Scott, DAN and Nate. You guys look great in those tuxes!! Can't wait til we meet again.

Taswira our unofficial captain, and Kathy and Papa had their pictures elevated to a higher level! And, of course, our listkeeper/webmaster and his beautiful wife are also a pleasure to behold!

Sarahsmom and Bettemom and Alikat/dvcchrisvwl - all good looking families!

But there were two surprises here for me:

First Hopelea - I never really checked out your age and when you mentioned it in a post recently I was surprised and then surprised again when I see your picture because I had pictured you to be much younger and much blonder!!! LOL! (not that you are old, by any means. I would give my eyeteeth to be your age again!)

and my second surprise - Art and Cathy - That picture has to be from the CruiseEar cruise isn't it? You guys both lost weight, didn't you? You look wonderful!

Oh what a great cruise this is going to be with all these great looking people on it. And just think - now we will be able to recognize each other when we finally meet!

TULIROSE......A BLONDE??? Too funny.......That picture is about two years old, but it is pretty accurate! We don't have family pictures taken. I hate my picture taken. We all look pretty much the same, girls are two years older, my hair is shorter......my DH NEVER changes.

I also LOVE the web page......VIKING......what a wonderful job you have done!! Thank you for all of your hard work!!

Going to eat in Ruby Tuesdays now......have a good evening!!

Hope

I LOVE the web page, Eric! It's really shaping up now that there are Cruisetoberfester pics BIG enough to see what people look like. :jester:

My UNhappy note: I'm going to be on the road from next Sunday until 7 August. So I'm going to MISS the AP Preview days for Mission Space. :( So now I'm REALLY glad I got my "fix." I'm going to try for another time or two later this week. :bounce:

alikat99 - I still think Emily is SUCH a captivating baby! :p

Cathy with @ C

Eric....what a nice job you did on the web page...we loved it. Sarah is mad because that picture is from 2 years ago and she said she looks so young...she doesn't like to have her picture taken so I told her that it was all that I had!! Actually, she had someone come up to her at Graceland (Elvis' house) and asked to have his picture taken with her..after she gave him a look, she posed with him. Mike and Kathy were kidding her that it was for the new video that they were filming "Girls gone wild in Mempis"!! I couldn't believe she let him take her picture..she won't even have her picture taken with me and she knows me!! I told her that she was probably all over the web by now.

Forgot to mention on my previous thread that Sarah cleaned her room today (which in itself is a minor miracle!!) and she has a Disney Magic sweat shirt in size small--really decent shape and I would wash it again before I bring it--does anyone want it or should we donate it to the Salvation Army??? Mary Jo

Also has a Rainforest Cafe sweatshirt--size small...any takers??

Eric,
Love your Cruisetoberfest 2 web page. Picture is on its way. We just returned from a week at the Delaware Shore. We dropped our DS off for a 5 day LaCrosse Camp at the University of Delaware. Then Ellen and I continued on down to Rehoboth Beach with our travel trailer. We stayed at a campground a few minutes from the Ocean and spent a lot of time at the beach. Not quite Castaway Cay, but we had a good time.
We are trying to see if we can join the Baltimore Meeting in August. Not quite sure yet, but it sounds like a lot of fun.

Dave & Ellen

Eric, great job on the website. Thank you for all your hard work.
Sarah's Mom, DD had a similar comment about her picture, "oh no, I look horrible, my eyes are closed" Also wouls love to have the sweatshirts! Here in NW Fl we live in sweatshirts from Nov-Feb. :smooth: And I think your "Ya'll" was fine. We will get you to give the other northeners lessons.
Eric, I know you would never post a picture of me, underwater in a bathing suit. And if you did, who would want to see it?;)

I got confirmation about paying off the cruise today!:bounce: :bounce: What a GREAT feeling!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

To The Dis Group having the Maryland meet: Hope you all have a great time. Wish we were closer and we could join you.

Later, Ave'

MaryJo.........how small? My DD, Sara is 7 and wears a 10/12 sweatshirt, which is still big. Do you think that would fit her?
If you think so, I'd love it for her. How much do you want for it?

Thanks, Hope
