Cruise 10/11/2003 Part 2

Hi everyone,
A quick post so no one forgets about the N.E. Ohio contingent.
This is Don, we just finished all of our iron on's.
I've got my suit dry cleaned, tux is ready, all the suit cases are open in the spare bedroom with our cruise clothes ready to go in them.
Colleen has a new formal and semi-formal, Josh's tux will be picked up Tue. before we leave.
Mary, I saw your list of clothing and decided to show it to Colleen, she always over packs.
We have our tickets for the space center on the 10th, so we'll see everyone at the Radisson on Friday evening.

Two weeks from today we'll be hunting in Key West!

Avé--- Love the new smilies. Very cute.

Mary--- The way the conversation went over your packing list was something like, Hey, Dear, come see this packing list... Mary's not even taking underwear for her family and look at all the stuff you're taking!

Thought I read a while back that some people needed car rental coupons from the Entertainment Book. If anyone still needs them, we have lots and can mail them out.

Sue Ellen--- So glad you finally have your power restored! I can't even imagine going without it for that long.

Rosemary-- I did the same thing, searched to see who auntrenae was.

T-shirts came out ok for the most part. Think we got carried away on some of them as they sorta toasted and turned a light brown, but still look all right. Did this happen to anyone else?

Gotta run and give Josh his haircut.

We were busy today as it didn't rain. Yeah. Got the backyard cleaned up but decided to wait til later in the week to put the patio furniture away as we have to clean out a part of the garage which will be easier once all of the yard waste bags are put out on Tuesday. We missed the last yard waste day so we have a few bags. We also did the cruisetoberfest t-shirts and I think they turned out great. Tried to get DB to email the scavenger hunt logo but his internet was down this morning and he probably forgot so I'll email it home tomorrow from work.

We also cleaned up the laundry room (aka dumping ground!). There's actually space in there! Have been doing laundry all weekend and it's still not done. Turns out that under the boxes etc there was laundry just waiting to be done.

Cleaned out the car although it still needs to be vaccuumed. Hopefully it will stay clean for a week.

Haven't actually started to pack yet but have a list and have gathered some items to be packed. Am trying to figure out all that we need since we are staying an extra week. I want to pack the 'good' clothes in a separate bag because we won't need them the second week.

One disaster though -- my sandals broke. I've had them forever and they've been to WDW, canoeing, everywhere. They were great and they broke this afternoon. For those who live in Florida can you still get sandals there? Going to have trouble replacing them here because winter boots are out. Going to look around but may have to make a short shopping trip once we hit Florida.

Must go and let DS have the computer to do his homework -- told him that he couldn't go out with his friends tonight because his English assignment wasn't done and it's due on Tuesday. He actually didn't put up that much fuss so maybe that's progress.

I've tried to do some scrapbooking and never have gotten far. I've got tons of stuff to do it with and no time or guidence to get it done so if anyone decides this is what you want to do, let me know and I'll pack up my stuff.

Hi everyone,
Yes, I'm the real auntrenae, wife to Walt Jr. and mom to DS Ben who is coming home from Brazil on Thursday. I know it's weird to talk to people who you haven't met in person and not get cofused, and I do it all the time!
For whoever asked about sandals, they are available here now, I just found some at Pointe Orlando on I-Drive last week. I work at the Disney Worldport there and noticed in the jeans place that they had those comfortable rubber ones you can wear in the water, and the price wasn't bad either! If you come in on Mon. or Wed. during the day, come in and ask for me and I can give you a great collectible pin that isn't for sale anywhere. Just ask for Renae. If they say I'm on a break, tell them to tell me that you are a Dis'er and I'll come out right then. I really can't wait to meet all of you!
For those who want to give me some confusion on board... I'm already confused! You'll have me lost and unable to find my stateroom...
I will be bringing my scrapbooking stuff to work on if I can get my scissors approved to bring. It would be really fun if we could have a crop in one of the dining rooms between meals...
Whoever was at CKU WDW, I REALLY want to meet you and compare notes!!!

Colleen..LOL!!! Yes, my family will have underware! I just thought that was a "given" and no need to list. I will also pack toothbrushes, deoderant, shampoo, sunscreen, panty hose...need I go on!!

Last year I brought 2X as much (7 dresses for me, 6 outfits for the kids ect)came home without using half of it!

I tried to get DD some sandels tiday but all the store (Target) had was boots!I might be stoppping in Fl also for summer shoes.

Try Kohl's for sandals. Right now they're having an extra 70% off their clearance items, and they have a bunch of sandals left. We were just there today. I also found myself a nice sundress for the tropical night for only $7.

I found a decent pair of sandals online and another pair on clearance at Fred Meyer so Tony and I are set. We have approx the same size feet so what I intended to get for him, ended up being for me and vice versa. Otherwise, I'll be living in tennis shoes. Was going to bring my hiking boots for the Tulum ruins, but I figured my tennies would do just find and save some weight in my bag. Love those boots though! Thinking about getting some insoles for my tennies. Something with some padding to asure that they'll last me for the trip. Still have time.

So here we are again, just counting down another day. One more full week of work, next weekend should fly by with last minute packing and shopping and all and then we'll be at the airport! We got our laptop situation worked out (had some worries for awhile as the machine I was going to be taking fried the keyboard and we didn't think we'd be able to get it replaced in time, but it went off without a hitch) and all I have to do is make sure I have all my stuff on them. Should make sure the infrared works on both since I only have one wireless card and that way I can "send" stuff to my son's if I need to.

So, that's where I am. Have only a few items of clothing left to pack and it's only because it's in the laundry, a few personal items, laptop stuff (power cords. mouse, etc) and camera stuff (can't find my dang download cable!!!!) I have an extra bag going into my son's suitcase for the stuff to bring home and we should be set. I'm going nuts waiting.....

are many people brining laptops with them? My plan was to bring ipod, PDA, digital camera, extra memory cards and video camera.

I might be odd, but I don't go much of anywhere without a laptop. I'm a true geek. I work at Microsoft and I feel naked unless I'm connected to the world somehow. Cell phone, laptop, pda, digital camera, you name it, I got it. It's an addiction.

Actually, one of the advantages of working for Microsoft right now is that they are really big into the Tablet PC. I've been carrying one of those around for months now and I love it. However, since most of what I'm going to be needing a computer for onboard is updating my web pages and playing DVDs in my cabin and on the airplane, I really need a DVD drive (which the tablet doesn't have) and a keyboard (which again, the tablet doesn't have). It would be really slow to try and build those web pages with handwriting recognition.

So, I transfer everything I need over to the laptop next weekend for the trip and leave my beloved little tablet at home.

As well, Tony will need something to do his homework on and he will want to watch different movies than me so he gets his own. I'm actually going to be bringing my husband's laptop (more powerful) and configuring mine for my boy. His will likely just have MS Office 2003, Encarta 2004 and a few games on it. Mine will have a bit more versatility.... Unfortunately, it's also heavier

Found some white so we bought them... but yellow were nowhee to be found... While looking for tee shirts we looked for those Name sweatshirts and found none (SORRY)
I can not believe all of Darmstadt has no yellow tee shirts..

well last time this Sat we will check Frankfurt..

I have a question. What is this cell phone list that everyone is talking about? I've traded cell phone numbers with a couple of people, but I don't think I'm on a "list". Do I need to be?

I got Haley's suitcase packed yesterday. I think I got us down to 3 suitcases, 1 garment bag and 1 duffle bag that I'm using as a carryon. Oh and I can't forget about the diaper bag I'm really trying not to overpack this time. You know it's amazing how much stuff a 1 year old needs!

I think I can pack all of our shorts now. It is so COLD here. Only supposed to be in the 60's all week and our heat is running it's so cold inside.

Looks like we will have four suitcases, one garment bag, three duffel bags (one full of diapers ) and a big diaper bag. Oh, plus two umbrella strollers. I hope they all fit in our cargo carrier.

I'm buying diapers when we get down there. We're staying at the Wellesley Inn on Commodity Circle, and there's supposed to be a Walmart across the street. I figured I'd stop there before we head to the port. Those diapers are so heavy -- I don't want to be the suitcase to be overweight because of them.

We can't pack our shorts yet! This time of year it is 45 in the AM and then 85 by 3 PM. We start off in pants and end up in shorts.

Well, better go work on the logos for the doors!!
