We are not on a dining plan. We are visiting for the first time and may not visit again for a loooooong time, if at all.
After reading a lot of threads, I decided on CRT considering it's out first time and we have princess mad kids. My ADR reservation time is getting close and I am reconsidering my choice.
Should I go for the CRT meal? Which one would you choose? Everyone recommends breakfast but is it the best value? (DD will be getting the BBB makeover if we can book it before the meal). Or should I skip CRT and do Akershus instead?

This meal is not about the food although both cuisines are all right with us. We are not picky about food. It's more about the kids experiencing princess land.

There's no difference in that respect.

I still think of CRT as one of the best ADRs we've ever done. We did dinner there and it was wonderful. Super experience and totally worth it.

Hmmm....breakfast or dinner then? I looked at the pricing and there isn't much difference on allears.net

Not trying to hijack the thread, but how does dinner at CRT work now? I looked on allears.net and don't see individual pricing for apps, entrees, or desserts....is it a fixed price where you choose one of each? Or do they just not have the prices listed?

We enjoyed both Akershus and CRT and thought the princess interaction was good at both. However, there is something special about eating at the castle! If it is a once in a lifetime trip, I'd choose CRT (but it is more expensive).

I haven't been to CRT yet (going in November), but the way I chose which meal to go to was based on when my daughter is the most awake and happy. How old are your kids? If they don't like waking up early, then I would avoid breakfast.

If this is possibly your one and only trip, I would do CRT. In fact, I would consider doing CRT AND Akershus :) 1900 Park Fare is super cute as well.

In terms of picking a meal for CRT, we liked to do a late morning BBB reservation (10 or 10:30 am) followed by lunch at CRT. The food at CRT isn't great, so I was trying to avoid the more costly dinner meal, while still accommodating the BBB reservation. Plus we aren't huge breakfast eaters. If you like breakfast, I would actually consider doing BBB first thing in the morning, followed by a late CRT breakfast. Again, it's not about the food, so I would spend as little as you can and simply get the castle experience!

CRT is all about the experience- eating in a castle, meeting princesses, etc. My kids eat breakfast better than any other meals but we aren't morning people so we will be trying(on Monday!!!) to get CRT for a 930-10 breakfast. I don't know what your budget is or how many character meals you plan on doing but if you have kids that love princesses I would suggest doing both CRT and Akershus and as someone else mentioned 1900 PF dinner. Great character interactions!
