CRT was horrible

We are currently on day 10 of 13 and I was thinking of doing a quick dining review when we got back, but I have to vent. This the third time we have eaten here and the previous 2 times were excellent.

We had a 6:50 reservation and the park was closing at 7 for a private event. We were escorted to CRT and waited a short time to go in. There was only about 8 other families. All the princesses were wonderful, but that was it. Our server was inattentive and the food was horrible. Salads were just iceberg lettuce, chili was poor. We ordered the steak and shrimp. We got about a 3oz steak and 2 shrimp on top of a large spoonful of mashed potatoes with 2 small vegetables. I honestly think they microwaved the food. It came out luke warm and tasted bad. The shrimp were so bad we couldn't eat them. Desert came out warm and was just as bad. Server hardly came around and I told her how bad the food was and all she said was sorry. She never offered us anything else nor informed her superior. It really felt like we were rushed. I told the manager when we left and he asked why I didn't say something earlier. I told him I had and he seemed upset that he wasn't informed by his employees. He offered us something else to eat, but we were already walking out.

Ok done venting now. Once again the princesses were awesome. When we finished, we walked down main street and were able to take some nice pictures of the castle with hardly anyone around. The manager said to come back after the refurbishment. Maybe we will give it another try if reviews are good after the refurbishment.

We had dinner at CRT three days ago and I agree the shrimp and steak were mediocre and a terrible value. I was trying to decide between it and the pork tenderloin...I should have known better when the server shrugged and said, "Most guests seem to like it. It is our most popular entree." Such a ringing endorsement, LOL.

The shrimp and grits appetizer was small but tasty. The cheesecake was ok (I wanted to order the clock strikes midnight but I had pre-ordered chocolate mousse slippers and crowns and thought it was too much mousse.)

The kid's pot pie was surprisingly tasty and a good portion. The peanut butter s'mores were good too, The kid's meals have been thoroughly inadequate in our past experience so this was a nice surprise.

I think this was likely our last time at CRT, so I wanted to do it up. We have had the rushed experience there when we chose a late seating...sorry that happened to you too.

I sometimes hear CRT is "all you care to eat," but it doesn't immediately appear to be so. I usually go for dinner, never breakfast ... and to be honest their dinner portions are a bit small. Can I ask for more, or this just a breakfast thing?

I totally agree with your post!!!! We told the Chef about the shrimp (very hard, wayyyy overcooked) and he just stated "I think we have a difference in opinion" went and tried a shrimp and came back to tell us they were fine!!!

This was my least favorite meal of the trip. :(

No desire to try it as I would be very upset to pay that much for such mediocre food and service.

We dined at CRT on the 20th of Nov. for my daughters birthday and I do have to say it was one of our favorite meals. Our server was awesome and super attentive. His name was Sienad or something like that. When we first arrived in the morning we had two separate reservations for that day since I wasn't able to find a reservation for our whole party of 8 at the same time. When we checked in the first party I explained that to the lady named Carole and she told us to all come back at the time of the second reservation and she would make sure we all got a table together and she did. Our server actually asked us if we wanted anything else and my DH was the first one who said some more food as the portions were super small and one of my daughters didn't like her french toast so he bought her some of the french toast sticks from the childrens menu and constantly replaced our drinks before they were even half gone. Actually he refilled us so much that DH finally said no more, lol. Our server was completely awesome. He even sung happy birthday with us when he bought the cake I ordered for my daughters birthday. He made sure no one left hungry.

I just want to add, that we had several great meals on this trip. CRT just was exceptionally bad. We really loved BOG for lunch. If anyone hasn't tried BOG for lunch, I highly recommend it.
