Will I be allowed to make a 7 p.m. Reservation at CRT even if I am not attending the Christmas party? I understand that I will need to leave as soon as I finish dinner, but I wasn't sure if I could the reservation.

Your reservation would have to be BEFORE 7:00pm. That is the time the party starts and you will not be allowed access to the restaurant for any reservation from 7:00pm or later unless you are attending the party.

Thanks, I am just a few days away from the 180 day mark and I am trying to get organized.

1) Yes, you can eat without having a party ticket.
2) Your ressie *usually* has to be 1/2 hour before party.
3) Before admission to eatery, they will ask for your party ticket.
4) If not early enough, you will be denied eating - ADR or not.
5) For CRT, I would not make an ADR later than 6:00pm.
6) Just to make certain.

CAVEAT: In some cases, the eatery wants your ressie at
least 1-hour before party. The problem is, the ressie people
do not know this. I have seen people turned away from
their ADR because the ressie wasn't early enough.

I've also seen people turned away when their ressie wasn't early enough. This was at Liberty Tree Tavern though. As we were waiting in line, a CM made the announcement that everyone in line was going to have to show they were attending the party. Several people got upset. This was around 6:45pm.

personally I think this is a good thing, we will be attending the christmas party this year, there's 6 and an infant so the tickets are DEFINATELY not cheap!! so I think that I would be a bit "ticked off":rolleyes1 if I had spent all that money on tickets for my family and Disney were clearly still letting "regular" park guests wander around and see everything that we had paid extra for.
To be honest I am interested to see how disney manages it, like do they REALLY go round and check everyones arm for a wrist band and if they haven't got one on chase them out of the park??? It doesn't seem very "disney." I think it must be hard for them to remian "polite hosts" to regular guests" whilst showing paying party guests that they haven't just been conned.
Obviously the main highlights are main street snowing, the parade and the fireworks, I can understand that you can't get on any of the rides without a wrist band but don't know how easy it can be for them to stop regular park goers staying to watch the parade. after all there will be THOUSANDS of ppl there!!
just to say, when I have been reading up on "easy WDW" about the MVMCP they do a "is it worth the cost thing" at the bottom, it says on there that you can make ADR's up to 6;50 and recomends eating at Tony's and trying for an outside table and REALLY lingering I guess!! So I would see what the CM says on the phone, its up to disney to police this stuff so if theres a loophole there I am sure plenty of people will be taking advantage of it!!

At 7pm they DO start checking everyones wristbands and if you do not have one you are politely ,but firmly told you need to exit the park.Your band is also checked in stores, restaurants, and I even saw Cms checking people who were trying to use the bathroom.ADRS BEFORE 7pm are generally ok, but ones made for 7pm will be told they need party admission to dine.Years ago they used to completely CLOSE the parks, clear it and then re-open to party guests..It was a nightmare with all the crowds of people.
