I feel like I have hit the wall of planning where I can't see the forest for the trees: My family (DH, DS8,DS5, and I) will be traveling to WDW in Oct but are not planning on doing the Halloween party. My older son requested to eat in the castle. I currently have both a lunch reservation (noon) and a dinner reservation (5:45) for the last day of our trip. I was thinking the dinner would maximize park time since the park closes at 6 (I know we will be escorted out after our meal) but lunch would build in a sort of a mid day break.

The menu looks to be the same lunch vs dinner so is there any other advantages/ disadvantages I am missing as far as lunch vs dinner?

Personally, I would go with dinner. You are right. On a party day, the 5:45 pm dinner will maximize your time in the park. The lunch will carve out at about 90 minutes of park touring that day. If you need a midday break, I would do a quieter QS - we like sitting on the second floor of Columbia Harbour House.

I agree. Keep dinner and release lunch so that another family can get an ADR.

Oh for sure, I would never keep both. That’s why I am trying to think through it now so someone else’s prince or princess can eat in the castle :)
