CRT and Tusker House credit card reservation questions

I am helping a friend plan her trip and I'm doing her dining reservations for her. She is using DDP, which I have never used and I have two questions. I booked CRT dinner for her and had to input her credit card info - when I read the fine print on the reservation, it said her credit card would either be charged the full price, or, if using the dining plan, credit card would be charged full price only if she didn't show up. How would Disney know? Did they charge her card when I made the reservation?

Also - Tusker House!!! I wanted to get her into Tusker House for dinner, which isn't a problem, but it's asking me for her credit card info again! I understand they would want it for the breakfast because of the characters, but for lunch and dinner, too?!! Also, when I go in to the online reservation system and search for character dinners, Tusker House shows up which is REALLY misleading! Ugh. I made a reservation for Y&Y instead because I don't want to load her up with $10 cancellation ressies, but I know she would prefer Tusker House. blah.

CRT: They would no she was a no show because they have a list of reservations. If you booked through the dining plan it shouldn't charge her card now. I just booked mine yesterday and when I put in my credit card info it said it was for the guarantee only if I didn't show up.

Tusker: She would only have the $10 charge if she doesn't show up or cancel 1 day in advance. I don't see why it would be an issue to make the reservation. I just pulled up the character dining on WDW website and when you pull up the details for Tusker House it does say "character dining at breakfast and lunch." Maybe the system just isn't set up to remove it from the list for dinner.

They recently (as of 10/26 I think) changed the reservation system and a lot of places (not only character locations) now require a credit card guarantee and will charge fees if the reservation is a no show or not canceled 1 day in advance.

Sorry - I should clarify - for the CRT reservation how would they know if she is on the dining plan or not? When I did the search online I checked the dining plan box when I searched, but when I made the reservation it said it charged the card. Maybe I should just call the reservation line to confirm. I understand they will charge her if she doesn't show up. I just don't want them to charge her now.

Tusker House - I just don't understand why the dinner is under the credit card policy? I understand the character breakfast, but is dinner without the characters that popular?

They have a little box (seriously, TINY!) on the page where you make the reservation to say you'd be using Dining Plan credits for the meal. I didn't even know about this until after I booked all my ADR's on our last trip and the waiter at CRT asked me if I would be using credits or paying OOP for it and I told him the credits. He came back to my table and said that the credit card had been charged already but he would take my card, reverse the charge and use the credits. I just got my credit card bill and yup, it's all taken off. I wouldn't worry too much. I think a lot of people miss that tiny box.

We've been to CRT twice already and both times my credit card was charged even though we had the dining plan. This time when I went to the dining reservation link it said something about linking my dining plan. I did that so I am hoping I don't get charged.
When I did notice the previous charge I just called the dining number and they were able to adjust my reservation and refund my card.
