This is a follow-up to a question I asked earlier about CRT. We now have one additional person who wants to go to the CRT breakfast with us, taking our group from 5 to 6. I have ADRs for 5 people and have obviously pre-paid for us 5. I called to try to add the extra or to get a new ADR for 6, but couldn't get it at a time we could be there. So, I'm considering taking the extra person with us that morning, just hoping to get in. (If the table we sit at holds 6 anyway, then I'm thinking it could work.)

But I remembered that since everyone either prepays for CRT or uses the dining plan, I'm wondering whether they even have the technology there to allow me to pay, either with cash, credit card or room charge. Does anyone have any idea?

Thanks much!

We had reservations for 8 paid for four people on the DxDDP and our friends paid with a CC. The waiter got it right but two days later CRT charged us for all 8 meals on the DxDDP.:scared1:. It took 30 minutes to get back our 8 credits and I had the receipts.

Hmmmm. When was that? I think they used to only take a credit card to charge for no-shows, but now they go ahead and charge the card for the meal. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong.) If that's so, then what I'm worried about is whether they even can still accept payment for meals there...

Any more thoughts?

People add/drop members of their party all of the time at CRT and you'll be able to pay for the additional person once you get to the dining room. That is, of course, if youre able to add a person, not all 5top tables can accommodate 6. Shouldnt be too big of a problem though!

Yes, they can accept payment. Rare as it may be, there are occasionally walk-ups available, and those people, obviously, wouldn't have paid in advance.

I don't believe that - technically speaking - you prepay for CRT. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I believe they take your CC information, and then you actually pay when you're there? Taking your CC information is only used if you don't show up. Is that wrong?

It actually depends on how/when you book and if you plan on using the dining plan. It's about half and half, some prepay and some have a 'credit card guarantee'.

Agreed. We pay OOP, and we've always been charged upon booking (or within a few days).

a friend of mine did this ..made a reservation for 5, then it ended up being 7 people for dinner .. they just paid for the current amount of people that were there.

Perfect! Thanks everyone! I'm glad to hear that it is at least worth trying to get our extra person in, since we won't be turned away for payment issues. Now I just need some pixie dust on them having a table for 6 waiting on us... :wizard:

Thanks again.
