CRT $45 for breakfast!

Yes, the price is quite high. I had been to CRT many years ago - before I had children and before princesses were at dinner. I thought the food was just OK, but I loved being in the castle. Now, we have three boys and our pre-schooler recently became very interested in princesses. So for his birthday weekend (a week ago today), we had dinner at Akershus and breakfast the next morning at CRT.

The food at CRT was fine - I really enjoyed the fruit and the bread basket and I'm probably the only person in the world who likes the bacon at Disney. (The eggs were not so good.)

The castle is great. But as others have said, the princess interaction at Akershus is much, much better. Our son loves princesses and wanted to ask each of them one question about their stories. He thought of this entirely on his own and was very excited to ask them. Belle and Ariel at Akershus had time for that, but the princesses at CRT did not. He didn't want to pose for pictures - he wanted to talk (and I got some good candids at Akershus!) But at CRT is was very "pose and go."

I think the part that was most disappointing was the long wait in the lower level of the castle (nearly 45 minutes) before we were seated. The photographer was not enjoying the magic of anything and there were so many families crowded in the waiting room that it was a very unpleasant start.

As many others have said, it's great to do this once but it's not a repeat for us. I actually wish they would offer the opportunity to dine in the castle without the princesses again!

See I didn't get the above impression at all. In fact my kids don't talk to any of the princesses and they kept trying to engage them, honestly for much longer than I felt was necessary, given that they didn't show any desire to talk.

Our wait in the lobby was maybe 10 minutes. It's super overpriced sure, but everything in Disney is, so with that in mind, I was happy with it, this was our second time doing it and one of my daughter's favorite things to do. The nice thing about being a menu versus buffet is that you are always at the table and don't risk missing anyone. And they made it clear you could have as much food as you wanted, seconds of anything and even sides of the other menu items (we had stuffed french toast, but my husband got a side of sausages, they brought him 4 huge - think bratwurst sized - sausages)

Plus, Askerhaus is $30, plus tax and tip that's like $38, so the difference in price isn't quite as much as you think.

Just an FYI - Akershus breakfast has gone up to $32.99 (non-peak) and $36.99 (peak) plus tax. Still cheaper than CRT though!

All buffets have risen by a couple of dollars for 2011.

Hope this helps, Tiger

These buffets & Character meals are getting out of hand IMHO. I booked Tusker house for breakfast until I realized it was peak pricing & it would have been over $100 for 4 of us for breakfast!!! We are talking bacon, eggs biscuits, fruit & I have two kids out of that 4. I dont' think so! I will happily pay $100 for a dinner but not breakfast!
