Crown Currency

Ok this has probably been asked before but as I have said on PP I am rubbish at the search bit.

Has Anyone used Crown Currency to get dollars delivered? I noticed that they offer the best rates that I can find but am a bit worried about handing cash over to them. I don't go for a while yet so the rate on the highstreet might go up so this would be a back up.

i have used them a couple of times with no problems. good rates. Got $1.66 for our up-coming August trip.

There will be people that post and used their service with no problem and will use them again, then there are people like me that wouldn't touch with a barge pole. I just could not hand over money to a company with no financial guarantee, you can't even pay by credit card for protection.
If you buy £1,000 worth of $ you will get approx $80 more than using Post office(online) but only if you let them keep your £1,000 for 3-6 months.
Chances are you will get your money OK, can't dispute that but to me handing a £1,000 over to someone I don't know for 3-6 to earn £50 is not worth it, to others it is.
I will be using a fee free credit card for majority of spend in August, hopefully will get a similar rate to companies like Crown but with zero risk involved.
Your money your choice but these companies are not for me.

Travel Money Services are part of them with a better rate
have used them loads of times absolutely noooo problems
when you place your order you give them a date for delivery and they WILL deliver by recorded delivery on every order and on that date
They even delivered mine when the snoww was here a couple of months ago when nothing else was running

I looked at using these...but also noticed you have to order your money well in advance to get a good rate...put me off to be honest...handing over cash...and not receiving dollars until 6 weeks later...sounds worrying to me

We have used them many times and they have always been spot on, I will be using them again for next years holiday too. I do understand that many people would not want to pay for currency before getting it, but their rates are good and we have never had a problem.

Thank you all for your replies. I think that we will just wait until the rate goes up a bit on the high street and see what we can get. As I said was a bit worried about handig over that much money and having to wait.
