I have been reading horror stories on how people only got on 3 or 4 rides a day certain times of the year at Disney. I am going March 3rd through March 7th and was wondering how bad it really is going to be. I am clueless if it is a busy time or even what the weather is going to be. It is our first trip to Disney and I have kept it a secret from my kids so I haven't even begun to pack because nobody is nagging me to do it,lol. My husband doesn't care about packing because I am the one that does it anyway, lol. Thanks!

I would be at the park at rope drop everyday and use the counter clockwise method. Maximize fast passes. But most importantly listen to your kids if they are tired or need to go back for a swim break DO IT. Don't push them just because they haven't seen everything yet.

The people who only ride 2 or 3 rides a day arrive to the park a few hours after the park opens, have no idea what they should do first, and do not understand how the FP works.

If you have small children, for Magic Kingdom, you need to head directly to Fantasyland -- do not stop on Main Street for characters before you arrive at Fantasyland. We don't stop for a morning picture in front of the castle. We do that a little later in the day.

Dumbo won't be open when you go, so you should go to Peter Pan first then just do all the rides in FL, then you can decide to go to either Tomorrowland or Frontierland. If you go to Tomorrowland, grab a FP for Space Mountain or Buzz. If you are planning to ride both, definitately get the FP for Space first. This can usually get done before lunch as long as you get there when the park opens.

If you head to Frontierland, grab a FP for either BTMRR or Splash Mountain. If one of those has a short standby line you can ride one standby and get a FP for the other.

If your children are older and you don't need to do the Fantasyland rides, then you can start in Tomorrowland or Frontierland.

At Epcot -- head straight to Soarin or Test Track to get FP.

At DHS -- head straight to Toy Story Midway Mania or Jedi Training whichever is more important to your group.

At AK -- head directly to EE or perhaps the Safari.

As long as you at least have a plan for the first few attractions and you arrive either at rope drop (or you can do a couple of days where you don't arrive until late afternoon or evening when people are starting to leave) then you will be fine.

Don't plan so much that you feel rushed and aren't enjoying yourself, but just go in with a some kind of framework for the day.

We will be there at the same time!!!! :) I am hoping that since Easter isn't until the first part of April, the crowds won't be too bad. I had a friend that went at this time last year and she said it was the perfect time to go. The weather should be in the 80's if it stays how it has been the last few weeks.

I went at that exact time a few years ago (March 1-8) and the crowd levels were absolutely fine. We only made rope drop on one day (but were there within a half hour of rope drop on the other days, so still plenty early) and we were still able to see and do all that we had hoped to.

The weather was a bit chilly that year by some folks' standards (but still warm to us New Englanders; we even swam!). We wore capris/short sleeves during the day and a sweatshirt/light jacket at night. Perfect.

Have a great trip!
