Here's a story for you...

On Tuesday, August 29th, we started our day at the Magic Kingdom with breakfast at the Crystal Palace at 8:05am. Wonderful breakfast with fantastic service!

We exited the restaurant shortly before 9am and my husband decided he was going to ride Haunted Mansion. While he was gone, I took the kids on Winnie the Pooh (walked right on) and the Tea Cups (again, walked right on...twice in a row). As we were leaving and heading for the Motor Cars (yup, walked on), my husband caught up with us and relayed this experience:

He walked into the Haunted Mansion and was greeted with, "Not only are you the first person this morning, you are the ONLY person this morning." He responded with, "I guess we'll all know who the 1000th ghost will be", which actually made the cast member crack a smile. He rode the entire ride ALL BY HIMSELF with no one else riding the attraction. When he exited, there still was no one in line waiting! Personally, I would have been a little freaked out. For him, it was one of the highlights of his trip!

Overall, we really had no issue with the crowds (or buses) ever. We sometimes did the EMH, but used the Touring Plan guide as to which parks to avoid and also went to whatever park had the EMH the morning/night before. It worked like a charm and the longest wait we had for any ride was about 10 minutes for Dumbo. We walked right onto Soarin' and that was at 10am in the morning.

Very Twilight Zone-ish!

That's really cool about the low crowds, and the HM story!

Well. . .we just got back. . .I mean just got back. And I can say that was NOT the case SUNDAY!!!! 40 + minutes for PIRATES!!!! 30 for Small World!!! There was EVEN a line at Spaceship Earth!!! LEt's not even talk about Soarin' (did wait about 15-20 right at park opening!!) or TEST TRACK!!! Used Fast Pass for Everest!! Let's just say. . . There was a BUNCH of folks there yesterday!!!!

very neat experience at HM! Love it.

We had similar experiences with low crowds. We were there 8/25-9/2 and it was fantastic. We were walking on many rides, riding more than once without getting off and 5-10 min waits on others. Sadly, the week came to an end, all too quickly.

we arrived in the afternoon on wed.23, left on wed 30ith. i found it funny this summer ,cause some days didnt seem to to bad as far as crowds. but other days were really busy. now tuesday we got to ak around 945 ish and i dont know if the tram arrived just befored our asmusic bus, but it was so PACKED just getting in. my husband was really surprised. we were leaving wed. which was the day ernesto was supposed to come through. so we thought maybe that every one kinda came out at the same time.haha. later on in the day it wasnt to bad. but all week for everest it was at least 45 to 60 min.wait. one day myhusband went on the single rider and it didnt take that long. we found splash to be very long also, we just did alot of fp. we have gone the last 9 to 10 summers, except last year,so we are used to crowds and the heat. we still had a great time....

I once showed up for "Journey into the Imagination" and rode it alone. It was actually very, very creepy to be the only person on the ride...all of the other cars were empty. There was a CM in there at one point and s/he moved....it really freaked me out. I was glad when it was over!
