I recently visited the first week and a half in June and considering going back the week before Christmas based on how the calendar falls and Christmas falls on a Sunday my daughter is out the entire week before Christmas... though I guess many other schools may be as well.

I have been between Christmas and New Years and it's a madhouse... so I'm concerned what the week leading up to Christmas (particularly this year and how it falls) and what the crowds may be like then.

Any guesses or thoughts for those who have been around this timeframe?

thanks!

My guess is it will be crazy busy!
But, there are longer, earlier and later park hours, the entertainment and the decorations are amazing, and FP+ is your friend.
Depending on the age of your daughter, I would absolutely go!

We were at WDW 12/17-12/24 this past year and the crowds weren't bad at all. I was expecting far worse. Started getting more crowded the closer to the 24th. My DS and I returned for NYE and the difference in the crowds was huge! I would go the week leading up to Christmas anytime.

We've discussed this a couple of times. I thought it would be crazy busy, but many, many people posted that their schools go through the 23rd, so this may be the best year to go the week leading up to Christmas.

We check in the 18th! I've been to Disney at Christmas lots of times and it's always busy but manageable if you get there early.

We went last year and it was fine with good FP+ choices and hitting RD every day. We strategically chose AK for Xmas day and while it wasn't dead, it wasn't bad at all especially compared to MK. We also took midday breaks every day to avoid the worst crowds, and spent one morning mid trip in the resort's pool to recharge (it was hot enough for swimming, YMMV on that one).

Agreed. We went 12/16-12/27/14, & didn't see crowds until 12/23, really noticeable on 12/24. 12/16-12/22 were better crowds than when we go in February & May/June.
