Crowds the week after New Year's

Since New Year's day in 2004 is on a Thursday, I am imagining that the crowds may remain thru that weekend. But will it still be crowded the following week, or will it return to the usual January light crowds? I'm trying to decide when to go, and I'd really like to have the place to myself

No, the crowds die down considerably after the weekend after New Years... all of the local kids go back to school that day. Have a great time!

Normally the crowds die down right after new years. But with NYE on Thursday and the schools here not going back until the 5th I predict that it will be still pretty crowded until Sat.
