Crowds next week...

OK, I'm getting really nervous about the crowds next week. It seems as though from all the threads it will be summer like. We have all of our ADR, but I was hoping for light crowds and waiting in line 10 minutes. Anyone else a little bummed?

We leave Thursday for a long weekend. We have a lot planned, so I'm not too concerned with the crowds. It would be nice to jump on a ride here and there, we'll just have to wait and see.

Friends were there last week and said the parks were dead. 2 weeks will make a big difference???

I'm a little nervous too!! I specifically booked this week a while ago because it has always been a very low crowd week. Then they offered the free meal plan and it seems like everybody booked this week!!! I'm so bummed!!!

There are a few things happening here that increase the crowds. The MNSSHP starts and also some kids have long weekends because of the Jewish Holidays. I'm leaving tomorrow and I'm a little spooked too. :earseek:

If you read these forums, it makes any week sound like it'll be busy...

I really don't think it'll be anywhere near as busy as Summer. Maybe a tab busier than Octobers past, but still very manageable.

Don't worry, nothing you can do about it anyways...

Andy

My only concern is all that is going on, and this being the first weekend for the top two I think there will be a lot of people there:

1. MNSSH
2. Food & Wine Festival
3. Free Dining

It's a quick weekend trip for DW and I, so I'm not too concerned about the rides.

Good Luck!

I agree with this....and hope that everyone is so busy keeping up with their dining plans that the attraction wait times will still be low :)

Ditto. Leaving tomorrow and a little spooked- but I'm not going to let it get me down. It can't POSSIBLY be as busy as it was in June or as it was on Christmas day at MK years ago... so as long as it isn't that packed I can handle it somehow. LOL

I haven't been in Oct since the late 80's/early 90's so I don't have anything to go on. Our last two trips were late May and early Aug so as long as crowds aren't as bad as those times I will be super happy.

If it's any consolation, we just got back Saturday (9/17-9/24) and it was dead dead dead! Except for the restaurants. We had some PS (Le Cellier and Prime Time for lunch, etc.) and were glad of it because of long wait times at the restaurants when we showed up for our PS. HOWEVER, we also called and got same day 6 pm reservations for Sci Fi on Friday, and it was NOT crowded at all inside (even though a downpour left lots of people rushing in and waiting for a table).

So by all means, call from your hotel room and try to get a table. We always got one, and usually at whatever time we wanted.

I hope it stays dead dead dead!!! I will be there on Friday for a week of much needed special time with my dd6. Can't wait!!!

Im nervous but again, what can you do?

We're taking friends and I was trying to plan a laid back trip with no irritations to show them how much FUN our world is!! We kept bragging about how dead it is this time of year. But we also have the mantra of, if we get to a park and we try it out but it's just too packed, we move on to another park and hope it's a little better! The beauty of park hopping! :teeth:

The reasons why it sounds so dead is because this is the DIS....!!!!!

It can not possibly be as crowded as the holidays because most schools are in session right now. Most I read seems to be parks are light and dining is hard to get but we have PS's...

I called today and switched a couple just like that...

it will be ok.

I meant to say BUSY in my previous post...it makes sense that we all seem like we are going at the same times because a lot of us are and then it seems like it is going to be busy but I am going to have to say I doubt it...the UOG is at a 5 most of the days we are there and we are going to not go to EPCOT during FWF and not to MK on EMH or MNSSHP days...and I am cofortable with it, it is not like it is going to be the holidays or anything and my guess is a lot of people are going for the festivites that "tourists" like myeslf are not going to have time to see...JMO

I'm a little nervous too but there is nothing you can do now. Just enjoy yourself with your family. There is nothing better than that!

I was on the phone this morning confirming ressies and the CM told me that it is going to be a very very busy week. Ressies are just as busy for this coming week as any other time this past year.
Last week cannot be compared at all to this coming week. As far as the ressies are concerned, they don't even compare!

..."bummed"???
..."spooked"???
..."nervous"???

We will be there from October 3-12 - Jewish holidays and Columbus Day totally broke up the school weeks and our airfare was insanely low. I've done Easter, August several times, and October. Seen the parks crowded, seem 'em empty. Gotten right on rides or had to use FP.We don't do insane lines as my DS has Asperger's and gets waaay too antsy.
I've been to WDW in '01 and '02 with my late DH in his ECV and my elderly mom, also no longer with us. A little perspective and gratitude, please - WE'RE ALL going to WDW!!!!! Let's be grateful and content and not stress over things beyond our control....
(off soapbox).....just my pet peeve as I see folks stressing over this.. We are sooo lucky!!!

It seems like most of the schools are closed next week starting mid-week on ... so you proably will be ok until Wed or so.
