We will be traveling with 3 kids (11yo, 6yo, and 23mo) and I was wondering what the crowds are like during the last week of August/first week of September. We usually go the first week of December and it's great, but with the kids getting older I can't pull them out of school for so long. We were thinking of staying at the Pop Century. Any suggestions?:sunny:

The last week of August is ideal because so many schools in the south have already started.

We went during that time frame in 1999 at we were pleasantly surprised at the lower crowd levels.

It was still hotter than hades however, hot and humid!

We too will be traveling to the "World" last week of Aug.! In 2002, we were there the first 2 weeks of Aug., and it wasn't bad at all! Most of the US schools had opened by the 2nd week. We definitely saw a drop in crowds in the parks!

We went Aug 24-30th this year. No waits for any of the rides! It was HOT but that was ok. The pools and food court at ASMovies was crowded though. I'd go again during that time frame

We were there the fateful week of september 11th. Prior to that day there were no crowds at all. We took the advantage of our oldest child being in 1 st grade. We arrived the first week post labor day so our son had been to school for 1/2 a week and got to meet folks. Magic kingdom still got busy around 3 pm. I remember thinking that you could roll a bowling ball through epcot and not touch anyone. As I understand that is typically Jersey week, but it still was empty. I can't vouch for post that date. We live in NYC and drove home.

We were at the world from August 18th-31st, 2003.

Last week of August was deserted - Main Street was quiet and we were able to walk on the rides at Animal Kingdom. I would definitely do that week again. It was hot, but also beware of the rains mid-afternoon. Remember a poncho!

We arrived the day after labor day this year and the place was empty. Dbf and I were the only ones on the bus several times. The only drawback was, they cut out alot of the fireworks and spectro showings. We are planning on going back the same time this year though.
