Orlando Informer has a free crowd calendar. It is currently listing your date as Slow. If that holds true, you’ll easily do all you want to without any real issues.
If crowds pick up, you’ll need to do a little planning. My biggest advice is to make sure you rope drop the park. The best way to beat the crowds and the heat at Universal is to tour in the morning. Even if it stays slow, I still suggest arriving before official opening time. You’ll need the whole day to fit everything in, and this will allow you time to break some in the afternoon. Maybe have a nice long air conditioned lunch. August is one of the hottest months in the south, especially if you aren’t use to the heat. I’m a southern girl, and it can even get hot to me. Tour as much in the morning and evening as possible and get the most popular rides out of the way during those times. Find indoor or wet things to do in the afternoon when it is the most crowded and the hottest.
