Hello we are planning a trip to Disney World for 2007, My 9 year old stepson is a huge star wars fan. I would love to go during the star wars weekend. But we also have 3 daughters who are 2, 4, and 6. I was wondering if the crowds were really bad. And also about the weather? We went last year in march so i have no idea how hot it would be in may?

Thank you :wizard:

I have heard that Star Wars Weekends can be very crowded.....DH and I were hoping to be able to go to SWW, but we are leaving the day it starts....

The heat's going to be picking up in May, but not too bad just yet. Crowd-wise, though, SW Weekends draw a good amount of people, so MGM usually gets pretty crowded. Towards the end of the day, though, crowds thin because most of the Star Wars events are done by the afternoon. Expect the Star Tours area to be packed and if you're looking to get a certain souvenir, go straight to the gift shop as soon as the park opens because lines a mile long can form in a short amount of time. Good luck!

my experiences have been other than around star tours/toonie traders area the parks have been manageable. the lines to get sww stuff can be crazy and lines for star wars characters are worse than for mickey.

I was nervous but last year it really didn't seem any different thenm any other time. We avoided MGM ont he big weekend day I think a majority of it did not conflict with going to other parks and getting EMH.

I was there on the Friday of the first weekend and the crowds around Star Tours were awful. Very difficult to walk through. However, as another poster said, the rest of the area was not too crowded. I do not think it helped that the latest Star Wars movie opened the night before.

I would suggest splitting up if you can. I know that some people spent 8-10 hours in line just to get some souvenirs.

SWW related events will be very crowded. But if you're going on the regular attractions (aside from Star Tours, select showings of Who Wants To Be A Millioanire and perhaps Indiana Jones) then you should experience normal wait times.

Tattooine Traders is a zoo, otherwise it's not that bad.
The rest of the park is normal, but the Star Tours area is very busy
