What are the crowds like around President's Weekend in Disneyland?
Are they pretty crowded and bad time to go?
Everything I've read says it is not a good time.
Are those reports pretty accurate?

Planning a trip to California around that weekend and if Disneyland is a no go, I need to think of another fun family trip.

I would say any weekend is crazy! I've been told that some districts in so cal have that entire week after Presidents day off, which could make it worse. If you're going to be there at all before Friday, then it might not be so bad. But, the weekend will be busy and the week after, likely more so than a usual February midweek.

If you can stand a normal weekend, then might be worth it.

Most schools have that day off, so a three-day weekend is always going to be a busy weekend.

I've been before. It's crowded but certainly doable. Waits for the major attractions (Space, Indy, Star Tours, etc.) will peak at around 60-75 min in the middle of the day. Usually in the morning and late evenings the lines for these rides are much more manageable (~30 min). And with FastPass, you can still have short lines on these popular rides during the late morning-late afternoon.

If you get up early and hit the parks at opening, use FastPass as much as possible, and plan a bit, you find that the crowds are a lot easier to maneuver than you might think. :thumbsup2
