just curious how crowded it gets the few days before st. patricks day in the park. (magic kingdom) thanks.

I went two times the week of St. Patrick's Day and it wasn't bad at all. I was in college then, and my friends and I opted for Disney instead of Cancuun. It was a great time to go because the parks were barely crowded at all! I remember going on the Tower of Terror seven times in a row that vacation on two separate occasions! I would say you don't need to worry about the crowds...it couldn't have changed that much over the past 8 or 9 years.
Have fun! ::MickeyMo

Last year we where so excited to be at disney for St. Pats day! And then it was March 17th and not much. We could not find a "dinner" or even had trouble getting info at the guest services at resort & parks. The lady at MK told us that is not really a holiday, and not big in florida. We are from outside Chicago & it is a major holiday here! Finally we figured England would have a special dinner, but guest services at Epcot did not know? We walked up the nite before and asked and the cm outside, said he had no idea, but we called the kitchen. The chef came out to meet us and said he was excited about st. pat's, and of course had a special gourmet meal. But he descibed some kind of different sauces and foods not your conventional Irish dinner. (which we wanted).

We did find: Pins for sale, stating St. Pats day = 1 for each park. And Pleasure Island was supposed to have a smallish celebration that nite. (we did not go).

Crowds: not bad at all, and easter was early last year. But we are used to going in the busy summer months.

This year with the new Irish resturant / bar they should definately do something! Good luck, Mky princess: and HAPPY ST. PAT"s DAY! :thumbsup2

Top of the Evenin' to You. :shamrock:

We'll be waiting!

St. Patrick Day week falls during the same time as March Break in Ontario, Canada. The hotels seem really busy that week - I tried booking a DVC but could only get a 1 bedroom earlier that week. Hopefully it won't be too bad!

Note: I was in Ireland a few years back and they don't celebrate St. Patrick's Day - it is more of a North American Holiday - who knew???

Crowd levels have changed greatly over the past several years. It seems that times that were traditionally slow are now much busier. Disney runs all types of promotions during those times, bringing in guests.
March has become very busy due to Spring Breaks across the country.
Disney is busier all year round than it was in the past.
