hello, we have recently decided to go to Universal this summer break. I have asked a few other questions on the boards and really thank those who have helped.
Hoping to get some more help. I know that the best time to go is early spring or fall, like that anywhere, but it's not a option for us right now. Do to our schedule's we're looking at the very first of June, end of June or end of July.
In your honest opinions what would be best or will the crowds pretty much be the same during all times??:confused3
Thanks! :)

We live in Virginia and most schools around here don't get out until Mid-june. Now I know some get out the end of May but the first week of June would be my best guess out of the times you listed. LOL however, others may tell you different.

No you said it right pixeegrl casue if I had to choose it would be the begining of june and thats when we went last year and the crowds are managable cause at the end of june family are in full swing of thier vacations and it will be packed but then agian if your staying onsite it won't matter cause you will have the FOTL

Yes, we will be staying onsite, but even with the express pass I know it can get pretty crowded at theme parks. The less crowded the better or DH starts getting cranky....he's the type I'm lucky to get him to go to Walmart with me so when I talk him into another vacation I try to do my best to make him as comfortable as possible!!;)
Thanks for the info!!:)

Your welcome and I am just like your DH cause my DW has to drag me out places too but when it comes to Universal they don't have to drag me usually its the other way around they have to drag me away but the fotl will spoil you and when ever you get tired you can always leave for awhile and then come back :thumbsup2

If you need to get away...there's a new Walmart Supercenter on Turkey Lake Road not far from Universal. ;)

:rotfl2: I think DH would stay back for that trip to Walmart!!;)
Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it. It's all getting down to the nitty gritty now, just have to decide exactly what time we're going.
As far as fotl, I probably will get spoiled with it, sounds like it's well worth the extra money to stay onsite. I'm not to worried about DH I guess, he complains, but once he gets there on the rides he has fun, it's just the in between!;)
Thanks again :thumbsup2

We were there several years ago during the first week of June and we stayed on site and took full advantage of the fotl perk. The longest we waited was 15 minutes and that was for the MIB ride.

I love those cool hotel pics in your signature, did you make those?

First, congrats on a great decision. You will love Universal and not want to leave like me.:lmao:

Our last trip we stayed on site and did it in late July. The crowds were really full, but the fast pass did help considerably with the lines on rides, we never waited over 15 minutes at most to get on. However, like the others, I would suggest early June. Even with the fast passes, IMO it is still quite a bit better when the crowds are lighter. I would imagine due to late schools closing etc., the crowds will be lighter in early June. Late July is pretty much peak I think, and sometimes it was hard just making your way through the regular walk ways because there were so many people. But that was the only time we could go too. But if you are stuck with July, the fast passes make it very manageable.

Early June would probably be best, besides the crowds the weather will be a little cooler. We are going the first week of August. I'm worried about the crowds being thick but the heat has me more worried....:sunny:

Thanks everyone for your great advice!!:thumbsup2

to the previous posted, not sure if your aware of this, but they do have Express passes you can buy through Universal's website, it's only one ride per eligible ride, but might be worth looking into? ;)

What do you all think the lines will be like without FOTL?
Summer is busy and the lines will be 45 mins + by the middle of the day. If you get there at opening, you can do most of the bigger rides w/o too much of a wait. I wouldn't purchase the Express Plus passes until you see what the crowds are going to be like. You can always purchase them at either park if you think the crowds are getting too thick.

We've been in July and had lots of fun, but that was only with the FOTL from staying onsite. Between the extreme heat and long lines my DH wouldn't have been a happy camper without the FOTL perk.
