What were the crowds like at the party on this particular day? I'd love to go to the party next year, but the first day (if the schedule generally is the same next year) would be the only day it would work for me with my school schedule (teacher here). I'm just wondering if the crowds were light enough that it would be "worth it." I normally would not actively try to go in August, but I don't think I'd take off days from work to only spend a weekend at WDW any other time for the party. By the way, did adults wear costumes? Thanks in advance!

My opinion they were very light. It's the first time I went to the first one so I do not have anything else to compare it to though

We had no waits on any ride we did. We walked up 5 min before Hallowwishes and watched them from the plaza viewing area. Saw 2nd parade from right at train station with no wait. It was drizzly but not rainy.

I was rather upset that they ran out of most of the special party desserts by about 9:30. No reason at all for that. Only one we found left was the pumpkin Mickey waffle. Which was good. But I wanted some of the others.

We don't trick or treat at the party so no comment about that. Lines seemed varied from what I noticed from none to long

Glad to hear this. The party thread said it was very crowded, but the focus seemed to be on character meets.

They could have been. We did not do any character meets. Walked past Jack Sparrow mid evening and his line was decent. Not excessive but not short. Genie and Jasmine seemed similar. Think that's all we noticed

Reports said that the party was a lot fuller than expected. Character lines - for the most rare characters were long. Food was gone as Ang said. The first parties are always a little iffy because Disney throws the product out at the first one, then they'll make any necessary changes going into the next...

We went to the first party last year and the first party this year. It felt a lot more crowded to us this year. You can only really tell by comparing fireworks/parade viewing. Last year there was tons of space to spread out for fireworks and parades. This year, space was much more limited. Otherwise all parties feel the same in terms of ride times (most rides walk on - even at sold out parties), trick or treating and character meet and greets.

We were there but we had never been to a party before so not much to compare to. The character meet lines looked terrible, we only did one, Goofy. Hallowishes was great from fantasyland. We did maybe 10 rides, all very short lines. 7 dwarves line stayed as long or longer than it was on Wednesday at Extra Magic hours so we didn't do that one. My older daughter 4, loved the trick or treating, we did a lot of that. Lines were very long for treats the first 2 hours, some close to 15 minutes, but the last couple hours it was just as fast as you could walk. We saw second parade, had no trouble getting a front row spot in frontier land.

How about people dressing up (adults in particular)? Were there many or not really? I'd love to dress up, but if that's not really a thing for adults, I won't bother.

Lots of people dressed up. Lots of people not dressed up. Some adults go all out and put a lot of thought and effort into their costumes. If you want to dress up, you definitely should. :)

I know I read that the first one last year had a lot of extra tickets than usual for bloggers, the press, etc. It probably was like that this time too

It looked like most adults had at least a Halloween style shirt or hat on. I did not and wished I did. Some went all out and had great costumes. If we go back our whole family will do a fun theme. We saw lots of families all dressed up as the Moana group or seven dwarves, etc and they looked great!!
