Hi,

We are going to be in LA from Jan 1-7 and we were originally planning to go DL from the 3rd but we also want to see the decorations etc seeing as we are in the area.

Our main focus IS the special Christmas events so we don't need to go on all the rides those days but will it still be wall to wall people? Or do people START to drop off from the 1st (after the NYE bash).
Are there special NYE fireworks at midnight?? Are they open to midnight? Would it be worth trying to get there to see them if only from outside?

Would lines for HM and IASM be longer?
When would we have to start waiting for Fantasmic and the Parade from for a good spot?

I saw the thread about the 5th-8th saying there would be no fireworks or fantasmic then?? Is that serious??? Would we only get fireworks 1-3 and not after?

I'd love some insight :)
Thanks

The holiday versions of the rides will probably be up thru the 3rd, they will probably take them down after the 3rd. :)

I don't know about wait times or special fireworks, we've never been there at that time.

Since the 2nd and 3rd are on a weekend, and since it is the last opportunity to see the Christmas decorations, and also the Rose Bowl is typically that weekend, I would predict very heavy crowds.

Once the Christmas season ends on the 3rd, they scale back entertainment dramatically. There won't be fireworks or Fantasmic mid week after that. And I believe they will begin draining the Rivers of America right around that time as well.

We were there last January from Friday to Sunday. We ended up with a flat tire and didn't actually get there until Saturday, however, the crowd levels were fine. It was nowhere near as busy as the week before Christmas crowds. Go, and have fun!:goodvibes

You know what, I was totally wrong, we were there this year that same weekend! LOL For some reason I was thinking we were there the next weekend, but no, it was the same weekend. We did not experience heavy crowds, the holiday stuff was still up and running thru the 4th (which was Sunday) and started to come down on the 5th (Monday), by the end of the week everything holiday was gone and MS was back to normal. I think you should be fine, but remember the Rose Bowl and there may be higher crowds and be prepared just in case. :)

Thank you for the replies.

I forgot about the Rose bowl.
I mean - I did remember it a while ago in our early planning stages but I didn't really think about implications on Disneyland. I figured people would be THERE rather than in Disneyland.

But I do appreciate the reminder

Thanks!
