crowds after 4th of July?

I know that the summer months are the most crowded and that the crowds for the 4th of July rival New Year's Eve (and I've been there twice for that), but what are the crowds like immediately after the 4th? I would like to take advantage of the drop in rates at the deluxes from the 5th on, but I'm concerned about the crowd levels.

The entire week of the 4th is packed. It gets a little better by the following Monday (July 10 this year).
