Crowded in Sept!?

We were there 9/3 - 9/10. Boo--I wish I was still in Orlando and not at home today.

We did MK 9/4 and Epcot 9/5. Both were quite crowded compared to Labor Day weekends in the past. (We'd been Labor Day weekend 4 other times in the last 6 years.) For example, at Epcot, Imagination had a 25 minute wait that was out the door of the building. We did just fine with FPs and focusing on shows/low wait attractions. We did DHS on Tuesday and it was EMPTY. No wait for many character M&G including Chewy, Kylo Ren and Jake the Neverland Pirate. We got a perfect spot for the SW fireworks just a few minutes before the show and there was zero congestion exiting the park afterward. Crowds were low the rest of the week.

We think that if we go in early Sept again, we will likely try to travel on Labor Day and start our parks days the Tuesday afterwards.

I know that when we went in Sept 2014 (Sept 9-18), I was surprised at how crowded it felt. MK "felt" packed to the max on all the days we went there. The only time that MK wasn't crowded was when we went to MNSSHP, so I was thankful for that. The other 3 parks felt fine though. :-) Oh and we homeschool, so that's why my kids were there during school time.

We arrived on 9/3 and we definitely thought the crowds disappeared after Labor Day. The parks were great from Tuesday to Friday and we came home yesterday. Even noticed it in the pool at Beach Club - it was empty after Monday. All of the CM's kept telling us how great it is after the holiday and how the crowds get so low every year. On Tuesday MK was great, Epcot was awesome on Wednesday. DHS was dead on Wednesday night and I walked right on Toy Story Mania! I never seen it so empty! Went to MNSSHP on Thursday and it was awesome with low crowds. Friday we did MK and the heat was brutal and crowds were a little high there, but not at the other parks. We did Epcot Fri night and it was just awesome. We thought the crowds were great and we already decided to come back the same time next year because of it. They were way lower than what I experienced in November last year.

Saturday and Sunday were a bit crowded as we expected. We did Epcot on Saturday afternoon and night and Imagination was even a 30 min wait! We did MK on Sunday morning and we used our FP's and rider swap.. took an afternoon break and came back for BOG dinner and it poured for hours. My family left after going on CoP and I put on my poncho and stayed until the park closed at midnight. Glad I stayed because I ended up walking on most rides and had an awesome night by myself. We did DHS on Labor Day and had a great time and left when the rain started around 2pm. We took a break at the resort and headed over to Disney Springs. It ended up being a beautiful evening that night.

We were at the parks Saturday and I felt there was a definite drop in crowds from years past.

We arrived at Hollywood studios at 11am. Had a fastpass for RNRC, then went to TSM and waited about 10 minutes. I have never in my life (we're local) waited 10 minutes for TSM in the standby line. And this was a Saturday at noon.

We hopped to Epcot to enjoy the British Invasion a few times, didn't have to fight for the front benches. Then road Soarin standby with about a 30 minute wait. I also thought that was short considering it was about 4pm by this point.

From a local - crowds are definitely down. But that does not mean non existent.

This is what we discussed for next year lol. We are trying to avoid that weekend of Labor Day next year. It was great after the holiday was over. I think we are just going to fly in on Sunday instead of Saturday, and relax on Labor Day instead of going to a park. Start our park days on Tuesday.

We've discussed the same. We, or should I say "I" (since I am the one that does all the planning :-)) am looking at going in November next year. I am still trying to iron out dates, but ideally would like to travel and check in on or after the Veterans Day holiday. My dilemma is that discounts are blacked out during those dates usually, but I would like to take advantage of the holiday to prevent my daughter from missing so much school.

We got back Sat night and I found it better than when we went in begining of Nov in 2014 rode SDMT around 12 pm with a 25 min wait on Thurs. I found we rode everything we wanted some as 3rd 4th 5th or more fast passes in a group of 6 people I found it super managable and Im not a super patient person.

I agree! We usually go every year in November, around the first and second week. What a difference from my last trip, Nov 5-14th last year! We loved it! We rarely needed fps after Labor Day! We just used them because we had them lol.
