I keep flip-flopping for my DD's Dec. 22 b'day. She wants to go to either MGM or Sea World. I really want to go to MGM, but I'm scared it will be so crowded that we'll be miserable. Of course I'd rather be miserable at Disney than anywhere else! Anyone gone during this time?

cant help, but wanted to say..... thats a GREAT day for a birthday! - i know someone special that has the same birthday .....ME! princess:

cept, iam sure i am a alot older than your DD :(

actually...you may be ok that day....

since christmas is on a saturday....many people will get off work on the 24th.

the 24th - jan 2 is the mpst crowded time.

not many people will come down dec 19th - 25th as will the 24th - 2nd

It's going to be crowded (but not as bad as later in the month) no matter where you go for the day. Just adjust your expectations/attitude and you'll still have a wonderful time.

Personally, I'd go to MGM, and make good use of the FastPass system. If the crowds were "more than I could stand", I'd try to visit the attractions that have high capacities such as the Beauty & the Beast Show, Indiana Jones, etc. I'd plan a sit down meal (with PS) for the busiest time and try to do things that others may "overlook". I'd go in knowing I'll probably have to wait 60 -90 minutes to get a decent seat for Fantasmic and plan to eat my dinner in the stadium. Etc.

It probably won't be as bad as you fear - it's all about expectations. Crowds are just part of the experience - if there weren't crowds, Disney wouldn't exist as it does. If you know and expect crowds, it won't bother you so much!

Best wishes -

During the Christmas season, SeaWorld will be just as crowded as any one of the Disney parks, so just choose the one your DD would rather be in on her birthday and go in with the expectation of crowds.
