Crowd Outlook

A ride without height requirement is desperately needed at SWGE.
It's needed at HS in general. I would also be cool with a dark ride full of animatronics vs something like Navi which is extremely boring and lifeless outside of the one animatronic.

yeah..take my money for the lighting lane on that one. that sounds awesome.

They could work that into the GE storyline too. Just call it a museum, and it totally works "in universe" to tell historical facts: "Citizens and visitors to Batuu can explore the history of the galaxy in this exhibit featuring the major events of our Galaxy's recent wars."

Honestly, this thing is a no-brainer - Imagineering, are you listening?

thats kind of the direction i was thinking as well. its a look back at what's happened in history.

i love it, it would be an incredible dark ride

And heck, just copy the ride mechanics of Space Ship Earth - except it's a recreation of the Death Star on the outside. (We all know disney loves a good remake. LOL)

Brian, write a letter to Bob 3.0 (aka 1.0) ASAP and promise him you will not sue if they use your idea.

They can have it as long as they invite me to the opening. 😁

This information probably belongs on this thread.

@chipndale79 noted that they will be in WDW next week for four (4) days and that "there is plenty of dining availability the entire time we are there."

So I checked the app and sure enough next Wednesday has lots of open ADR's, including Rose & Crown, which is usually tough. I checked for tonight, and it seems to be the same.

So what does it all mean?

I am there next week as well and can attest to pretty open dining. We got artist point, CRT, ashkershus, Cali grill, BOG, and homecoming 60 days out, and moving things around has been pretty easy especially for a group of 9

Agreed dining has been easy to get this year. However, with the ease of getting a reservation, you'd expect a restaurant to be semi-empty but that's not the case. Restaurants appear full and the wait time for a table is as long as before.

only thing i want but cant really get is homecoming, i can get it, but not until 10pm. too late for me.

my fault for not booking 60 days out.

could mean a lot of things. for us, cutting the park hours and ever increasing price of the sit downs makes it harder for us to do them. Not to mention, the lack of a dining plan for now.

There was a time when we'd hit the parks early in the morning, go back to the hotel for a break in the afternoon, hit a sit down for dinner, then go play in the parks for hours after dinner. Late hours and magic hours made it possible.

Now with the cutting of hours and magic hours, we get to the park in the morning, and stay all day, no time for a sit down. If we do a sit down, the day is basically over, not a lot of time to do anything afterwards, and it cost a small fortune.

Edit: not to mention, the quality has severely decreased. Ohana for example used to be an absolute must for us. one of our favorite places to eat, always amazing. The last 2 times we've been, unbelievably subpar. Food was cold and overcooked both times, and both times they made it obvious they wanted to us to eat as quick as possible and get out.

That's happened to us a couple of times actually. We had reservations at Via Napoli at 630 on one of our last trips, with EPCOT closing at 9. The restaurant apparently was closing at 7, and they made it clear with how loud they were cleaning and banging around, they wanted everyone eating to get out.

I'm personally enjoying the wide selection of ADR right now. Except for fireworks packages, I don't bother looking until the day before.

On the side note, I'd like to see some restaurants closed and turned into rides. Starting with BOG, maybe just keep the smallest dining room and transform the rest into an animatronic ride.

I would 100% be okay with Be our Guest and Enchanted Tales being bulldozed down and in its place is the Beauty and the Beast ride at TDL. The ride and queue wouldn't fit without Enchanted Tales going as well but it would be a better trade off.

Our 2019 WDW trip was the first time we had been since 1994, IIRC. But since that time, we've been four times to DLR/DCA and four times to WDW. Never in these past four years do I recall ADRs with this much availability. Can anyone else speak to when they recall this much ADR availability?

FWIW I was a bit tempted to make a quick trip for the Wine and Dine half marathon weekend next month when it briefly reopened and at the time there were no rooms available under $300. Now? None under $800. Lots of deals offsite though.

This isn’t the thread for it but since it’s come up I’d like to see them add a permanent Star Wars show. Maybe something like the Bourne show at Universal with giant screens and live actors and small sets interacting with them. They could even replace the Indy show with it, convert the Backlot Express to Star Wars and bring everything currently at Launch Bay over to that area to have a second Star Wars area. Then they could add another attraction in place of Launch Bay.

Just another data point and not sure if it means anything but DVC Rental Store sent an email the other day desperate for owners to rent their points for 7-11 months out and increased their payout more than 10%. So they must be seeing demand in the summer and early fall outstripping their supply. That goes against the "worst demand in 21 years" narrative but maybe it's just demand for the lower priced DVC rental option?

When I mentioned worst demand in 21 years it was for winter into spring next year. Not a year from now. Your post does make sense as 7 to 11 months out is typically how most people book Disney vacations.
