Crowd levels

No MK availability for the next 7 days (Saturday comes and goes) despite reports that we are to get the heavier rakns in OC in quite some time, with temps a dropping to the high 40s and daytime highs in the upper 50s. Then again, the weather report has just been adjusted more favorably so maybe people are right.
What MK are you looking at? This is what my Inspire availablity looked like at 8:12 pm tonight.

I’m just noticing that the park is being kept open until 12am on Fridays this month (daily around Thanksgiving).

Expanding on my previous post, MK reservation availability comes and goes but I’m surprised by how tight it is. Some credible reports in recent days claim MK renewal/ signup rates are concerning and Disney is considering a $0 down payment promotion and expanding the option to finance the purchase to anybody (not just CA residents).

Toy Story Parking Lot was dead just after 4pm. Toll booth was already closed - the earliest I’ve ever seen.

People are making their way into the parks as the rain stopped.

I take this as a good sign: DL extended last Friday and Saturday’s operating hours to midnight. It was literally a last minute decision on each day. Which is interesting because the cold rain chased people away earlier in the day anyway.

I’m reading that yesterday evening, the parking structures were full and turning people to Toy Story. And this morning, there were massive lines to get into the park.

Today was PACKED. Not only was parking, security, trams, and the gates a nightmare, but there were people everywhere. There was a Dance the Dream event which brought in a lot of cheer families, but I think it was more than that. It could be because last weekend rained so people with reservations pushed them to this weekend. It is also the beginning of Thanksgiving week. People might decide to visit Disneyland for 3-4 days before returning home for Thanksgiving.

As I started reading your posting, the bolded part is what I thought of. Do you think it will be that way all week?

I don't know. I was there yesterday and it was pretty calm. We saw the normal "after work date night" crowd entering around dinner time. The first parade yesterday was in rainy day mode. The 5:15 parade ran from Small World -> Main Street and was more crowded than normal. We ducked out before the parade ended so I don't know how bad it was later in the evening.

Today we arrived before 9 am and it took us two hours to park, go through security, board a tram, and get into the park! It was crazy!

Park reservations entirely sold out today and tomorrow.

Update - they’ve added availability for non-MK tomorrow.

I'll include more details in a full reflection post, but yesterday was the busiest I have ever experienced in the parks. Granted, I don't have a Magic Key and only visit every year or two typically. I was really glad we had gotten most of our wishlist done Thurs-Fri, because yesterday we really focused on Fantasyland in the morning (starting w/ early entry) and then entertainment the rest of the day.

Isn't there availability for non MK all next week?

Yeah, only MK are not available. Seems like there’s an influx of non-MK, mostly out-of-towners, driving this. Last night there wasn’t much of a wait for TS bus but there were literally hundreds of people walking to their hotels. Hotel rates are also higher than average when they had been running lower.
