Crowd Levels?

I'm going to DL and DCA next wednesday. I noticed at least here in AZ everyone is back in school already. I'm not sure about CA. But I was just wondering what the crowd levels have been like for everyone so far. I know that I need to go before rope drop but now I'm going with a group. So...that might be a tad bit difficult. Thanks in advance!

Most of the LA Unified School District does not start until 9/9, OC starts on the 25th, Wed will probably be the least busy day but it is going to be busy. Have fun.

Really? LA schools are still out? My DD9 has been in for 2 weeks, DD13 starts on Monday. Of course we aren't in LA so.....lol

I've found that most of the school districts in southern California (and really school districts almost everywhere) start in mid to late August. The LA unified school district single tract schools (which is most of them) start after labor day. The LA unified school district multi-tract schools started in July.

I know, doesn't school starting after labor day seem later this year than normal? I guess it's because labor day isn't until September 7th this year, so for schools starting after labor day, it just seems.....well.....really late. :goodvibes

Teatime, seriously, do not be scared. It's end of summer at one of the most popular vacation spots in the country. It's going to be crowded.... but you know that. So - plan accordingly.

It's much less crowded early in the morning (because locals like me have no interest in getting up early). Use the FPs for the attractions it's available for (because LOTS of people don't). Steer into the curve.... By that I mean, don't fight the crowds, work around them. You know they will be there so bring things to do / discuss / play in line with your party. Leave time for dealing with crowds, lines, etc. and you will have a great time!

Enjoy,

Thanks :) Im just worried about my scooter getting thru crowds, but we are pretty prepared for the crowds. we are very early birds, getting in the park at 8:00 will be a breeze. we will do disneyland in the morning, down town disney by 12:00 and back into DCA for the afternoon. ( grabing our first fast pass in DCA before we go to lunch.

is it true you can get a fast pass in disneyland, and then run right over to DCA and grab fast passes there to? or are both parks linked together??

The parks are not linked. But to get FP's in DCA the hoppers must be activated. You can go into DL and then exit, go over to DCA and get fastpasses.
