Crowd Levels meaning

I am planning our trip based on crowd levels for a given day. But...for someone who hasn't been to DW before, is there a way to know what to expect out of a level 3 crowd versus a level 4, for example?

Based on our trip and the day's I've selected, the parks we're visiting are predicted anywhere between 3-5 levels (based on TouringPlans, and mirroring that with Easy WDW's predictions). Our 2 MK days, one is a 4 and one a 5, AK day is a 3, HS is a 3, and Epcot is a 4.

But, if I know I'm going to a park on a level 3 day, what does that mean to me? I don't have anything to compare it to. I mean, it's DW, I'm' guessing it's going to be busy even on a level 1 day, right? I guess I'm just trying to get an idea of what to expect. I know this is a pretty subjective question, and one that might be tough to answer.

It's actually not all that subjective, you just need to know where to look. For Touring Plans, here's how crowd levels translate into wait times for Haunted Mansion. So you'd wait about 25 mins even on a "1" day! But better than a "7" day where you'd wait around 50 mins

I believe on EasyWDW they have similar charts in their "cheat sheets" -- you just need to look at last few pages. To me, it's a reminder that the low crowd days don't mean that the park is empty!

Ditto that 'low crowds' dont' mean that the park is empty!! We were elbow to elbow walking through MK last week on most days especially in fantasyland, and that was on a '3' day. lol

No matter what the level is, it's going to be more crowded than you expect. Set your expectations low! :crowded: :rotfl:

Thanks, that's kind of what I was guessing. It's hard to predict when I've never been there. I'm glad we are going on days that are predicted at 3 and 4's, I can't imagine what I'll be up against crowd wise, but I'd be even more freaked out if we were facing 7's and 8's or more :)
