Crowd levels between aug-sept?

Trying to plan a late summer/early fall trip to the world.

I would love to go back ASAP but my weekday select pass blackout dates keep me in check.

I was looking at the crowd calendars for the last week of August going into the first two weeks of September.

September 8-12 show all 1's and 2's as far as crowd levels go.

August 25-29 shows 3,4, and a 5 crowd level.

My dilemma is I have a return trip to Orlando set for the first week of October, The unfortunate part is I probably won't be making it to Disney world. I'm going to Halloween Horror Nights with my brother and he has invited some of his friends who don't have AP's like my brother and I have and I'm doubtful they will want to shell out the extra dough to feed my Disney obsession.

My real question is will I see THAT big of a difference in crowd levels between those two weeks? I have on many occasions found the crowd calendars up to par with which parks are expected to be busier than others but I personally have no way to judge if the numbering system has been correct.

So I'm just asking what would you do? Low crowds at Disney sound fantastic but in a way I almost don't believe it lol or don't believe I will see that big of a difference

We have been in August the last few times and found that at the end of the month the numbers drop as American kids starts to get ready for school. But after September the numbers rise again.

The first and second week of September sees routinely and historically some of the lowest crowds of the year. Late August won't be bad either, but not as good as September.

We were there over Labor Day one year... We saw such a big difference fom end of August to beginning of September!

But end of August wasn't that bad. Still doable IMO.

I've been there towards the end of August and the beginning on September and I believe September is much better. As pp August is still doable and manageable but if you can do September go for it. IMHO:wave2:

Sept will be slower. I would vote for Sept. over Aug.

I've been the last week of August and the THIRD week of September (15-18th) and from what I experienced, there was a HUGE difference. In September there was about 1/3 of the crowd as in August, and the humidity level was about 1/2. We have said we will never go in August again, but can't wait to go in September again (hopefully next year).

You will feel so guilty if you go September 8-12.;) We aren't going to make it this year but visited last September and a couple of others; all similar to the same dates you mentioned. We finished up out APs this year with a visit May 10-16 which was nice with fairly low crowds but the 2nd week of September is something else. We will probably crank our WDW visits back up after this year and I will definitely try to work this week into our visit again.

We have gone 4 or 5 times during Labor Day week and it is a great time to go. I did notice that it seemed more crowded than the past the last time we went that week, but it is still a good time to go. The weather was really hot but it is in August too.
