Crowd Calendar

Has anyone checked out Disney's own app? I'm pretty sure the wait times for each attraction are derived from their own real-time data:

http://m.disneyworld.go.com/

This is the first i've heard of Disney's own url. I really like the lay out and navigation. My only issue is the current wait times aren't listed in minutes. I'm looking at Tower of Terror now and it says that the current wait is "High Demand" and fastpasses are unavailable. What does "High Demand" equate to? Is this accurate? Seems odd that TOT and RNRC are out of fastpasses during this time of day.

TSM FP's were gone at 9:55 today...(posted on another thread I now can't find)...

It is a double fantasmic day. They had Fantasmic on Sunday night, too - but it was an MK EMH night...so MOST people probably did MK on Sunday and DHS today. I would not be caught there today, honestly.

I bet all the rides are high demand...but it would certainly make more sense for them to post actual times...how hard would that be?

Is it worth it to spend the money to be a subscriber?

I just returned from WDW (my first trip ever), and Touringplans was spot-on and a real lifesaver. To give you an idea - on Sunday MK was an 8.8 and Epcot was a 1.1. We went to MK for the first few hours (8-10) and then hopped to Epcot. By the time we left MK it was getting so crowded, and Epcot was very manageable. Knowing that info completely saved the day for us. My husband was shocked that two parks in the same World could have such different crowds. Also, Lines, the touringplans app, was amazing. I can't imagine going through the park without it.

.....Why would the 2 sites be totally opposite as far as which park to avoid??? :confused3 One says to avoid MK and the other site recommends to go to MK??? Shich site is more accurate?? Touringplans.com or easywdw.com????? Example Touring plans on 12/23 says to avoid AK and Easywdw recommends you go to AK on that day????

Want the best info possible...

Thanks in advance!!

Did you find that the wait times on the app were right on? I've been watching them vs. the estimated wait times listed on touringplans.com and have been surprised at how close the estimates are. Glad to hear that you found it the same.

You have given me confidence that the plans I made using touringplans are going to be fine (even though other sites have me wondering about my choices!).

From my experience, they were excellent. I didn't follow a strict touring plan, since my kids had never been to Disney, so after the first 2-3 big attractions, we had to choose through a few options based on how they responded. For example, we had to try Barnstormer before Big Thunder to see how they would respond to roller coasters, but we also wanted to hit Tomorrowland. Having the wait info available at any time from across the park was crucial to making good decisions at the moment, and it seemed that Lines gave us better info than the ride estimates themselves. Dumbo had a posted wait of 10 minutes on the standby board, but Lines said 8. I walked up and asked the CM, and she said that it was getting later in the night, and wait times were changing quickly, so the Lines info was better than the posted time. Sure enough, I think we waited through 2 loadings of Dumbo and were on well within 10 minutes.:cheer2:

I would like to know the same thing.popcorn::

I keep wondering the same thing. :confused3
(I know exactly which WED you're talking about.)

It looked EXACTLY like this last year. The reason Weds is a "5" & the other #'s are lower is because Magic Kingdom does NOT have a MVMCP that day, but they do have Dream, 3 / MSEP, 7 / Wishes, 8 & ALL the folks that are not going to MVMCP that week & want to see fireworks will be there. Also, you hae the electric parade & late hours.

It completely shocks me that Touring plans has Magic Kingdom as the best park to visit for that day. We tried that last year & we left within 20 minutes because it was a madhouse of people !!!!!!!

I would avoid Magic Kingdom on 12/15 unless you just love LOTS of people !!

Two of the other sites (don't want to mention names) do not recommend MK on 12/15, but Touring plans does & they did last year as well (we went this same time last year & many years before- hence the name DisneyNDecember), but that was just way too many folks in one area for my comfort level. Hope this helps!!:santa::santa::santa:

For what it's worth, we check our predictions against actual park levels every day of the year, and post the results in the "Historical Crowd Estimates" section of the TP crowd calendar for everyone to see. That includes both the overall and per-park crowd levels as well as the best and worst park recommendations.

There's roughly a two-week lag in updates, so the last current date available is November 10, 2010.

We try to be as transparent as possible about the crowd calendar, including its performance. Let me know if the historical data aren't clear.
