Crocs??

Ok I agree the crocs look comfortable...but...do you wear them with or without socks? I didn't think plastic or rubber or what ever they are made out of would be comfortable for walking with out socks in them...I wouldn't think they would look right with socks...so now tell me ARE THEY REALLY COMFY FOR ALL THAT WALKING IN WDW??

Without socks - even in the winter ( I know, Im nuts)

Theyre coated with some sort of anti-sweat-bacterial stuff.... theyre not just plastic (like jelly shoes)

The wal-mart ones arent the same. Theyre HARD! When I tossed down a pair to compare to my pink ones I had on, they went *clunk* - I was like... YUCK! No way! And out them back on the rack.

I love them - I also dont find them ugly - but rather funky.

I wear mine both with and without socks, depending on the temperature. The Beach and the Cayman style are ventilated and the air goes right through them so your feet do not sweat. They are not plastic or rubber, they are made from a closed-cell resin material called Croslite. They do not harbor bacteria so there is no odor problem.
As far as walking at WDW, I haven't done that yet but they are great for all the walking I've done so far, such as shopping, etc. I plan to try them at WDW in July but I will have my old stand-by reboks just in case.

They can be worn with or without socks. I find mine perfectly comfortable without, so that's how I wear them...unless my feet get chilly, then I use light socks. It also depends on the style shoe you get as to whether your feet will sweat or not. Beach, Cayman, Nile are all fully ventilated, with holes in the upper as well as the sides, Professional and Metro are only ventilated on the sides, so are slightly warmer (good for winter, I find, as long as there's not a lot of deep snow), Aspens and Highlanders are fully enclosed with NO ventilation holes, so make your feet sweat like crazy. I recommend socks with these, and will only wear them in the snow. I may give up the enclosed type entirely, now that they've come out with Georgie (an adorable boot!).
If your problem is plantar fasciitis or heel spurs, I've heard only good about these shoes. They are very soft, and have a cushiony arch support. I've also heard great things about those with bad knees, probably because they're so light. But with ankle problems, I'd take care. The problems I had with my feet were numerous, and although Crocs worked great to relieve pain in some areas, it made others much worse. There is no stabilizing bar within the shoe, so they're very flexible, and prone to twisting on uneven surfaces. If you need lateral support, I'd pass on Crocs and go with an athletic shoe with motion control.

We love Crocs!
They are the only shoe that Ds14 can wear for a long day of walking and not have his feet hurt.

I just bought a pair of Crocs Nile on ebay ($26.99 including shipping). I've never had any before and am buying them based on the rave reviews on the Dis. I got the Niles, but I just couldn't bring myself to buy the others. After I wear these, I may decide it doesn't matter how ugly the others are and get some of them too.

Another question about the Crocs...are you not worried about loosing them on a ride? I can't imagine paying good money just to loose them. I would love to get a black pair (I love to wear black shoes mostly) to wear all the time at the parks but I am very worried about loosing them and not being comfortable. My daughter who is 15 years old would like a pair too but I don't want to hear whinning when her feet hurt from them...and again loosing them...is it an issue?

The wal-mart version is HORRIBLE! The payless version is tollerable.. but real crocs.. HEAVEN!

Well, I don't own any (yet ) but they have a strap and you could even buy special straps from the website (I think they are tighter but not sure)...check it out http://www.crocs.com

Just back last week from WDW and I wore crocs every day but one. The first long day in the parks I wore my Nike athletic shoes, formerly the most comfortable shoes I had. My feet HURT at the end of the day. The next day I left my Nikes in the van and wore the crocs. HEAVEN. Wore them every day after that. Feet did not hurt after LONG commando days in the parks. I have problems with my feet, too, and the this was the longest I've ever worn the crocs at one time. I wore them sockless (they "ate" my socks). Both DD's wore them, too. We got stares and one question about them. UNQUESTIONABLY the ugliest shoes ever but you know what? I DON"T CARE. The comfort MORE than makes up for it.

I love them!! I'm a nurse in a very busy ER, standing almost the whole 12 hour shift. If not for my Crocs I don't think I could stand it. They are definitely the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. I have the Professional style for work in navy, and then I have the Cayman style in navy, khaki and pink. Will try them out for the first time in Disney, TOMORROW!!!

I was wondering about the sizes. i am a 9.5 womens (usa) and I tried on the ones that are 8-9 (are those beach) and they were too small and then I tried on the 10-11 and they fit loose, is that good?? Or should I buy the other shoes (cayman) that have different sizing?

Cayman is the one that sizes individually (whole sizes). So it depends if you have wide feet size up to a Ten, and narrow feet size down to a Nine.

I wear a 9.5 in womens also. I got a L in the Beach model last year and they were fine. The shoe is really not suppose to touch your feet. I have ordered a cayman model for this summer and got the size 10 because I don't want them tight. Will see how they fit in 4 to 5 days. Don't make that mistake of getting them to small. I just don't see how they would be confortable. We love our crocs

I wear a size 81/2-9 shoe (depending on the shoe) and I got a med Croc which is supposed to fit size 8-9. I tried on a large and it just flopped alot on my feet. Did I go good or not? I was pretty boring in picking black too but I love black...if I like this pair, I will consider getting other colors though...they do seem pretty comfy, with the exception of the toe thing with the strap. Help me on deciding if I should take them back and get the floppy ones...??

We must have the same size feet. I went through the same thing....

Dont worry - they'll stretch enough to accomodate your big toe.... Mine did the same thing, and within a few wears, never bothered me again.

Your toe should not touch the front of your croc.........some DISers (including me) put them in the dryer for 5mins (time them!) and put on a few pairs of socks then wear your 'hot' crocs tilll they cool.
This should help.
Be careful not to pull on the straps too much or they will be too loose!
You can always repeat the process if needed.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my crocs!! I am on my feet all day and have always sworn by Dansko's. Bought my first pair of Crocs (red) and my dansko's have been lonely in my closet for the last month! I wear them everywhere and my family is mortified...except for my 9 year old daughter who wears her pink ones everywhere also!! I tried to get my husband to just TRY THEM ON and he refused....he doesn't know what he is missing. I can hardley wait until payday so I can buy a few more pairs! (I only get paid once a month)
