Crocs with socks?

I don't ever wear socks, even in winter, so I wouldn't wear socks with crocs. But I am all for comfort so I say go for it. My first few trips to WDW I would always end up with blisters. Until I found moleskin and Crocs. Isn't this message board great. And I just ordered two pair of crocs with the buy one get one free info from this board. So now I have two new pair of crocs for my vist to WDW next week. And Crocs are great. I hate anything on my heels (NEVER wear sneakers) so it is crocs or some kind of slide/mule.

I wear crocs with socks around my house ALL the time. I draw the line at wearing them in public though. It is super comfy, but it's looks .

I will not laugh at you though. I may even be a bit jealous....:)

I wear Crocs without socks all the time, so when I went to WDW last year I was sure I could go all day without blisters.

Not.

It was very hot and humid, and as we all know here, sweat and Crocs don't mix. Also, it rained almost every day . . . wet and Crocs don't mix, either.

Then, while on a walking tour of Animal Kingdom Park, the Cast Member Guide told me that the ONLY way to wear Crocs at Disney during hot or rainy weather . . . is with socks.

I cringed, but I broke down and bought a pair . . . what a difference! MUCH more comfortable.

After I started wearing socks with my Crocs, I noticed a lot of other people at WDW wearing them too. Funny, I didn't notice it before, which probably means I didn't really care about if others were wearing socks or not . . . which probably means no one gives a flying flamingo if I'm wearing them either.

Truly, no one cares, and most of them probably wish they were wearing more comfortable shoes and would kill for YOURS! :thumbsup2

That said, if you have any concerns about looking like a dork (you won't -- not at Disney where Crocs are almost a uniform), here's what I tell myself:

"There's a whole lot of people here who are concerned about looking better than everyone else. Therefore, if I want to be really nice and do the do-unto-others thing, it would be so kind of me to go out of my way to make sure they look better than I do. If I do, I'm doing them a such a caring favor!"

Then I just walk on telling myself that I wouldn't really want to impress anyone who cares about how my feet look anyway! ;)

Fun thread! Thanks for starting it!

I find black, over-the-calf socks most attractive with male sandals or crocs.
With those schnazzy sock garter things, huh? *wolf whistles*

Dude, have you ever BEEN to Disneyworld? I mean seriously? People will wear stuff there that they wouldn't wear ANYWHERE else on earth. And on their HEADS where everyone notices.

I wear crocs and socs and i don't care HOW it looks. I echo 'at Disney, comfort is KING!'

Enjoy yer crocs, socs and trip. :):boat:

I wear mine with socks if I am wearing long pants. I wear them without socks with shorts. I have worn them with socks and shorts at Disney due to blisters from anotherpair of shoes, however I did feel the dork factor applied. Bottom line though: if you have bad feet and they are working for you, wear them anyway and when you're 87 you'll be glad you did. I've seen my grandmother's feet and I don't want any part of bad shoes. If socks make them work, then wear them too!!

Uh oh, i just looked down, I think socks may be a good choice.

LOL Dude, it looks like your feet were transplanted from a corpse!

We need Crocs with socks sewn right in. We can call them Scrocs.

Go for it...I love the comments about the tourist look...add a nice fanny pack to your ensemble and enjoy your day at WDW! :thumbsup2

Crocs are very comfortable for all of the walking...I have worn mine the past two trips, and with white socks to prevent blisters!

I KNEW I was setting a trend! I wore socks with mine almost every day this past trip in August and it was SO comfortable. I color coordinated between the socks and crocs so that whatever showed either matched the crocs or the clothes! Plus I added the fanny pack this year. Loved it.

I only care about my comfort at Disney World and could care less if somebody else has an opinion about my get-up. Relax and enjoy those sock with the crocs - you may never go back!

BTW - I just bought a pair or Mammoths this weekend, so I have them for my February trip! They have furry socks built in! My 15th pair of Crocs :thumbsup2

Outside of WDW I would say NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! But when it comes to WDW I say comfort wins. It could be worse, you could want to wear those mid calf white socks, now that would be a big NO! I say be comfortable (as long as you're wearing the short black socks)!

Absolutely wear what is comfortable and protects your feet from misery.

I discovered Crocs about 3 WDW trips ago and I never wear anything else when I'll be on my feet all day. I was shocked that after several days of walking the parks, my feet were sore - but no blisters or other sores.

Socks do help and you see so many people wearing them, the lack of fashion approval doesn't bother me at all any more.

These trips are too important and sores on your feet can easily spoil a great time. I say wear them and have a great time!

I agree that you should wear what is most comfortable. I myself am not interested in trying Crocs but I love my vibram five fingers, you ought to see the looks I get when I wear them.

I only wear socks with my crocs. I can't stand the feel of sweaty feet on rubber. In fact I mostly wear socks with everythying...I just hate being barefoot.

I always wear socks with my Crocs. Way more comfortable for me that way. I wear fun ankle socks. I have some rainbow ones, Kermit ones, monkey ones, etc. I figure might as well go all out! :rotfl2:

Oh my gosh, I HAVE to see it when you're done. Please email me through this forum to let me know when it is up and running. I'll be counting the "sockers."

PS: If I see someone taking movies of feet while we're there, I'll be sure to come up and say hi.

:rotfl: I'm picturing this in my head. Although if I was at Disney I wouldn't even notice.

I have to admit, on my last trip I wore crocs with white socks . . . and a fanny pack! :scared1::scared1: I used the moisture wicking kind of socks and they worked great with the crocs and kept my feet dry and comfortable. I switched between crocs and NB tennis shoes and it worked great! As for the fanny pack . . . I have no excuse. :confused3

Ow I LOVE fun ankle socks but do I have the courage to wear them in public. Hmm I'll have to try it.

Crocs headquarters is Niwot, CO (NE of Boulder). Do you have ANY idea what passes for fashion in Colorado?

Seriously...rest easy and wear your Crocs with socks. Your Crocs will feel like they've returned to the motherland :rotfl::rotfl:

I kinda feel like if someone spent as much money on vacation as a Disney vacation costs and all they have better to do while they are there is to look and see what I am wearing on my feet...well, they coulda done that for free at home at the local mall. That's their problem! Wear what's COMFY to YOU! :) Don't worry what others think...you'll never see them again anyway! (I am a crock socker! And I don't care who knows it!)

Yes!

Heck, it's Disney -- fun ankle socks might look a little "ifsy" elsewhere, but it works while in the World, especially if the socks have a Disney theme.

For gals: The Disney gift shops sell ankle socks with a little Mickey that faces out on one ankle and a little Minnie that faces out on the other.

Now, I gotta say though, if I were single and looking to impress other singles, I'd probably rethink the whole sock thing, especially if I were young.

That's one great thing about being happily settled and over-the-hill . . . not giving a hoot is just so darn liberating!
