I wear Crocs without socks all the time, so when I went to WDW last year I was sure I could go all day without blisters.
Not.
It was very hot and humid, and as we all know here, sweat and Crocs don't mix. Also, it rained almost every day . . . wet and Crocs don't mix, either.
Then, while on a walking tour of Animal Kingdom Park, the Cast Member Guide told me that the ONLY way to wear Crocs at Disney during hot or rainy weather . . . is with socks.
I cringed, but I broke down and bought a pair . . . what a difference! MUCH more comfortable.
After I started wearing socks with my Crocs, I noticed a lot of other people at WDW wearing them too. Funny, I didn't notice it before, which probably means I didn't really care about if others were wearing socks or not . . . which probably means no one gives a flying flamingo if I'm wearing them either.
Truly, no one cares, and most of them probably wish they were wearing more comfortable shoes and would kill for YOURS!
That said, if you have any concerns about looking like a dork (you won't -- not at Disney where Crocs are almost a uniform), here's what I tell myself:
"There's a whole lot of people here who are concerned about looking better than everyone else. Therefore, if I want to be really nice and do the do-unto-others thing, it would be so kind of me to go out of my way to make sure they look better than I do. If I do, I'm doing them a such a caring favor!"
Then I just walk on telling myself that I wouldn't really want to impress anyone who cares about how my feet look anyway!
Fun thread! Thanks for starting it!
