There's a lot of talk about crocs and while I'm not totally convinced that a shoe like these are great for walking a ton in the parks, especially bigger parks, how about the guys or your DH's. I'm 6'1" and skinny with size 11ish feet so the normal looking shoes that look cool on a lot of people are starting to look like, well, stretched out versions of a cool looking shoe and size XL crocs just look huge to me. I tried on the size below and they were too snug.

I have a black pair that I wear on occasion but usually more around the house or a quick run to the store or to get something to eat in town. The other thing I didn't put a lot of thought in to was color, especially with socks on where you can see white shining through the LARGE holes that are in a XL pair of mens crocs. I jave bought a few pair of black footies to wear with them but just not certain thats gonna be my choice for walking around Disney all day. I've seen chef Mario Batali wear the orange ones but don't think I can pull that off.

So, what are the opinions out there from guys and DH's of ladies on here about large mens crocs, color, socks and their color, etc? Is there a color that doesn't look as odd with white socks on?

My DH is 6' with a size 12 foot. He wears his crocs all the time, sockless and in black. He took the straps off of his so they look ok. He usually wears them with his black jeans. In the summer he definitely wears them to the pool. But otherwise he will just wear them around when he runs errands and such. He has arthritis in his hands so sometimes shoe laces are a pain. This is a great solution. Not sure what other people think but he doesn't really care.:thumbsup2

I also forgot to mention that our next planned trip is June so it'll be with shorts also to throw an extra twist in there.

My 6'4" dh only wears a size 10 shoe...it's a wonder he doesn't tip over....but he owns two pair of Crocs. He has them in khaki and navy. Wears them all year long, sometimes with socks (white ones which look really stupid but it's only around the house!!) in the winter and sockless once the temps hit 50!

The men in my life:DH-6'7"-275 pounds-size 14 shoe
DS-6"4"-260 pounds-size 15 shoe
DS-6'4"-250 pounds-Size 13 shoe

My daughter and myself are both large, too...we both wear an 11 wide shoe. All 5 of us wore Crocs everyday to all the parks, and our feet were never a problem. We did wear short socks with them, and we were comfortable (it was in December)I would never even consider going to a park for hours in any other shoe, now that I have experienced Crocs. Also...they should fit large! Don't buy them snug! They will stay on your feet! You will not be sorry....and don't worry about how ugly they are. They are only ugly to people who don't have them. Once you have them, the ugliness fades away!

I think bigger people can pull it off more than tall and skinny, like I mentioned Mario wearing the orange ones, in shorts even, they would look like floppy clown shoes on a tall skinny guy I think.

The other problem is finding a selection of colors for men. They have tons of choices for kids/women in our stores but when you gt to men its a few basic colors, sometimes only black and that army man green. I don't have a problem ordering them but I have a hard time picturing what they'll look like on my feet.

I don't think I can pull this off:

Hey! If Mario still looks great wearing Orange Crocs, why can't you?!! Go and be confortable!!! I have a 260# s-i-l and he wears the bright yellow ones and no one says anything!!! Go with what you feel confortable in!!!

My DH is 6'2 with size 13 feet. He wears them - but not with socks.

And I can honestly tell you - he doesn't give a flaming (anything) what anyone else thinks - he is comfortable - he is secure with himself. So who cares??

Wear what YOU want to wear and don't worry about what other people think. In a week are you going to remember these people anyway?

Heck I'm a woman that just happened to get her foot size from her father who wears a 14. I wear a 12 Womens shoe so that means I wear the same size you would wear XL and I don't care what anyone thinks they fit great and I walked all over the parks for 7 days and never had foot pain.

I just bought my first pair of crocs and have a question. When the humidity is up (as in August when we are going) is it better to wear them with or without socks. I do think they are comfortable but not sure how an entire day in a park would feel in them. I am going to go test drive them this week at DL without socks but its not humid here.

The difference is that I'm 6'1 and 185lbs and I'm trying to lose the little bit of gut I have by the June trip. Tall skinny guys can't dress like big guys with the big baggy shorts and flaming orange crocs. :) It's a long way from my bony knee to my foot.

Yeah. If. And he doesn't. Looks like a reject from "What not to wear".

Here's my not terribly tall, a little bit large guy in his crocs. Now come on - what woman isn't driven crazy by a man wearing Grumpy, "Opera Glasses" and Crocs? Now that is SEXY!!!

My DH is 6 ft 4 in and 200lbs. He has the khaki crocs. We got them right before our last trip so we didn't have time to try them out. He was worried about wearing them at WDW, but after his first day in them he wouldn't wear anything else.
By the way, since I consider them to be more of a sandal than a shoe, we wear them without socks and were very comfortable.

DH is 6'2" and about 200lbs. He wore CROCS for the first time this past January. (Cayman style in brown). He has a lot of knee and foot pain form a past injury and swears he will never wear anything but Crocs at Disney again. He wore them everry day and no other shoes for the entire qo day trip. I thought they looked fine with socks and jeans and he is planning to wear this summer with his shorts. He valued his comfort over looks but never felt odd or ill at ease in them.

I have three pair, and wear them the entire trip! (They are all I take now!)

I'm 6'3", 195 lbs and LOVE my Crocs!

If you are worried about the "sandal" style crocs take a loook at the Islander style. More like a shoe (closed back) while still having the holes and ventilation in the front. I just tried these on yesterday and boy were they nice.

I would wear those with socks. Heck I would wear the Caymans with socks but then again I am a big dork! :)

Ditto. Like your DH, I'm also 6'2", and have size 13 feet. I'm a Big Honkin' Guy, and I don't give a {COLORFUL EXPLETIVE DELETED} what anyone thinks of what I wear offstage... and that means Crocs. They're light, breezy, and yes, I do indeed wear 'em with socks (I have black crocs, so I wear black socks.... but only with jeans. Shorts, I go sockless.). If I'm hanging out in the parks on a day off, I wear 'em shamelessly. In fact, I like my pair so much I'll be buying another soon.
